Vliv vybraných faktorů na dlouhověkost dojnic holštýnského skotu
HUBÁČEK, Tomáš
The aim of this thesis was the evaluation of selected factors on milking yield and longevity of the selected herd of dairy cows of Holstein cattle in the company Prima Agri a.s. There were monitored the indicators of dairy cows of Holstein cattle such as genotype, milk performance, the order of the lactation, the age of the first calving, the length of interim and of the service period, lifetime performance and reasons for elimination. The data were taken from the dairy cows whose first lactation was finished from January 1st to December 31 st 2016. 385 dairy cows were included to the monitoring. As for the genotype influence on milk performance, statistically significant difference was found out between the first and the fourth and the third and the fourth group on the level of significance (P<0,01). The effect of the age of the first calving on milk performance in kg of milk on first lactation wasn´t statistically provable (P>0,05). Statistically highly significant difference was found out by the effect of the order of the lactation on milk performance on the level of significance (P<0,01) between the groups of the first lactation and of the other groups of lactation. Statistically significant difference was found out between the 2nd lactation and the 4th and higher lactation on the level of significance (P<0,05). The effect of the genotype on the length of interim and the effect of the order of lactation on the length of interim weren´t statistically provable (P>0,05). The effect of genotype on length of the service period was statistically significant on the level of significance (P<0,01) between the group H2 and the group H3. Statistically significant difference (P<0,05) was found out between the groups H1 and H3, H1 and H4 and as well as between the groups H2 and R. The effect of the order of lactation on the length of service period was statistically highly significant on the level of significance (P<0,001) between the groups of the first lactation and of the other groups of lactation and between the groups of the second and fourth and higher lactation. The effect of the genotype of eliminated dairy cows on lifetime performance in kg of milk was statistically highly significant on the level of significance (P<0,001) between the groups H 1 and H2, H1 and H3, H2 and H3, H2 and R, H3 and R. An average number of eliminated dairy cows was 28,62 %. The biggest number of the eliminated dairy cows was on the grounds of fertility disorders and that is 35%. Longevity of the eliminated dairy cows was 2,7 lactation.
Vztah mezi exteriérem a mléčnou užitkovostí dojených plemen skotu
KOLLMANN, Milan
The relationship between linear type traits and productional, longevity traits were analysed for 645 cows first calved between 2000-2016. The aim of study was to evaluate realionships of individual 20 type traits and 4 general conformation characteristics. For analysed herd was evaluated impact of individual type traits to first lactation milk yield in kg, lifetime milk yield in kg and functional longevity in days. Results proved important relations between folowing linear type traits and first lactation milk yield in kg: rump lenght, rump width, body depth, muscularity, pastern, fore udder lenght, rear udder attachment, central ligament, udder depth and front teat placement. Statisticly important relationships were found between all general conformation characteristics and first lactation milk yield. Proved impact between individual linear type traits and lifetime milk yield were found for rump angle, hock and front teat placement. Relationships between general conformation characteristics and lifetime milk yield were not statisticly proved. For analysed herd were also found important relations between rump angle and hock to functional longevity. Important relationships between general conformation characteristics and functional longevity were not found. In overall 192 cows were culled in analysed herd in 2016. The most frequent reason of culling a cow out of breed was caused by fertility disorders which participated in overall culling reasons in 34,9 %.
Density dependent growth of brown trout Salmo trutta in oligotrophic streams
Závorka, Libor ; Slavík, Ondřej (advisor) ; Frouzová, Jaroslava (referee)
This thesis deals with the influence of population density on the growth of brown trout Salmo trutta. The research was carried out in the Šumava National Park in the river basins of two oligotrophic streams, the Vydra and the Křemelná. Data has been collected between years 2005 and 2010, every spring and autumn. Fish were caught via electrofishing and the length and weight of each individual were measured. Every individual caught was marked in a unique way. A few samples of scales were taken from some of them. The scales were fixed into laboratory slides, scanned and measured by graphic software. According to the differences between annual lamellas density, the age and the annual growth of individual's body length were estimated. Thanks to these results a negative relationship between the individuals' of age 1+ growth rate and the population density was confirmed. The importance of this thesis is mainly in comparing the influence of different spatial and time definitions of population on this relationship. The influence of the population density in spring (the initial time of the growth period) was proved to be essential for the growth rate. This fact suggests the importance of compensation growth intensity after the long period of winter for individual's general growth under conditions provided by...
Characteristics important for ensuring of sustainable and development of dairy cattle herds breeding
Lelek, Jaroslav ; Stádník, Luděk (advisor) ; Petr, Petr (referee)
The aim of this dissertation was to assess the influence of characteristics important for ensuring of sustainable and development of dairy cattle herds breeding. The data investigated describe approximately 5138 dairy cows in period of four years in selected farming´s of dairy cattle in district of Jičín. There were these indicators of reproduction processed: conception rate after first insemination, conception rate after all inseminations, interval of insemination, index of insemination, service period and meantime; the data were collected from seven stables of Bohemian Spotted cattle and from seven stables of Holstein cattle. The longevity was investigated from the number of dairy cows at respective lactation of both investigated breeds and from the average lactation in respective years. The results of investigation prove that the average percentage representation of dairy cow at respective lactation between 2012-2015 ranged 33,4 % at first lactation, and 24,68 % at second lactation, and 18,13 % at third lactation, and 11,48 % at fourth lactation, and 6,53 % at fifth lactation, and 3,32 % at sixth lactation, and 2,36 % at seventh and more lactations. The evident data from comparison prove, that till third lactation there is higher percentage representation of Holstein cattle and from third lactation there are more cows of Bohemian Spotted cattle, and also the average reached lactation confirms this the value of 2,75 lactation for Bohemian Spotted cattle and the value of 2,3 lactation for Holstein cattle. The influence of breed on the average length of lactation was quite weak. The results of rating indicators of reproduction also have not proven any statistically important difference between both types of cattle as concerns values reached by each cattle, but the original Bohemian Spotted cattle reached better results in all indicators, and thus it is probably more suitable for the area of district Jičín.
Life expectancy , the most common cause of death and illness small dog breeds
Kindlová, Iveta ; Fiala Šebková, Naděžda (advisor) ; Jana, Jana (referee)
The dog was domesticated approximately 15,000 years ago. We can find large number of breeds of various sizes, types and colours. Small dogs plays an important role in some cultures, religion or society. Most of them were bred in order to meet specific need. Among small breeds of dogs we find bold and hardy terriers, intelligent and funny poodles and bichon or hunting dogs. Durring the domestication of dogs enormous genetic pressure was developed and it was reflected in the health of dogs. The aim of thesis was to find out the average life expectancy of small dog breeds and to reveal the most frequent diseases and causes of death. Data were obtained from 441 individuals of different purebred dogs with pedigree, 196 males and 245 females. Data of the health profile of individuals came from the Czech Republic and from abroad. The total life expectancy, life expectancy by gender and breeds, death causes, incidence of the disease during life, or whether castration effected life expectancy were assessed. It was found that the life expectancy of small breed dogs is 11.8 years. The average age of males and females were differed by about three months. The females lived longer. Statistically significant difference was not found. Quite a lot of individuals (45%) were castrated. Statistically significant differences were confirmed between castrated and uncastrated bitches. Neutered bitches lived for about one and a half year longer. The most common cause of death of small dog breeds became overall age (34.6%). The second one was cancer (26.3%). Two hypotheses were set. The first hypothesis assumes that females of small breed dogs live longer than males. This hypothesis was not confirmed. The second hypothesis was that one of the predisposing factors for longevity is a long time exposure of the ovary in the body. Neutered bitches up to 8 years of life and uncastrated females live longer than females neutered before (under the age of 5). This hypothesis has not also been confirmed. It was confirmed, that there is a statistically significant difference between castrated and uncastrated females, regardless of the age of castration. Neutered bitches lived for about one and a half years longer. Further, statistically significant differences between castrated and uncastrated females within the breed were confirmed. For Scottish Terrier breed neutered bitches survived for about five years longer than uncastrated females.
Vyhodnocení vlivu příbuzenské plemenitby na životaschopnost a dlouhověkost koní Převalského
Nogová, Barbara
The literary overview in the first chapter focuses on the occurrence and discovery of the Przewalski horse. It also deals with their own characteristic. Information about the lifespan of Przewalski horses and individual breeding lines are specified too. Attention was also engaged to the topic of inbreeding and inbreeding depression. The last chapter of a literary overview discusses the current state of the breed. The aim of these theses was to process the data from the general studbook of the Przewalski horses and to evaluate the effect of inbreeding on the length of life of these horses. Data required to statistical evaluation was obtained from the International studbook of Przewalski horse from 2008 and from publicly available internet version of these book. The database contained informations about a sex, date of birth, date of death, lifespan, and the value of the coefficient of inbreeding. Thus obtained data were processed using the program Microsoft Excel 2010 and statistically evaluated in the programs of the UNISTAT 6.5 and SAS 9.1.4. Used to be a basic statistics functions, the Tukey-B test, generalized linear model and Pearson's correlation. Assessing the results of the statistics was detected highly significant effect of sex, year of birth, and the values of the coefficient of inbreeding on the lifespan of Przewalski horses. However, for foals of Przewalski horses, that lived more than two years, has been demonstrated only effect of sex on the lifespan.
Vliv změny prostředí na dlouhověkost a produkci mléka krav českého strakatého skotu ve vybraném chovu
Poláková, Lenka
The aim of this thesis was to evaluate the effect of environmental changes on longevity and milk production of cows Czech Fleckvieh cattle in selected breeding. The work focused on the comparison parameters milk production, longevity reasons decommissioning cows and lactation on which the cows were excluded. Within one company were monitored two groups of cows. The first group of cows was monitored in the original stabling. The second group consisted of pregnant heifers whose milk production have been monitored in subsequent years. They were removed to new stabling among cows of Holstein cattle. Each of the groups had different environmental conditions, treatment and different feed ration. Milk production and longevity of cows were evaluated in six years. In the framework of the obtained results it can be concluded that the change in the environment, treatment and feed ration were the main reason leading to the increase in the milk production of cows in the new location. Cows in the new stabling were mostly eliminated because of the reproductive disorder, milk production and other reasons (mortality, high age, diarrhea, poorly developed teats, bad condition).

Analysis of longevity in the Czech Republic
Tyuleneva, Anastasia ; Vrabcová, Jana (advisor) ; Bílková, Diana (referee)
This work is focused on the comprehensive analysis of longevity in the Czech Republic by calculating life tables and diffrent indicators such as life expectancy, likely and normal life span, which are corresponded to the statistical distribution of the values of the table number of deaths, such as mean, median and mode. In this work will be discribed models for smoothing age specific death rates using the moving average, Gompertz-makeham model and modified Gompertz-makeham model. The last chapter of this work will include all achieved analysis results for the Czech Republic and for other selected European Union countries. Also will be evaluted given essie as the growth of the life expectancy and moreover will be estimated forecast of lonevity in the Czech Republic.
Vývoj střední délky života a dlouhověkosti v ČR
Fridrichová, Barbora ; Miskolczi, Martina (advisor) ; Langhamrová, Jana (referee)
This diploma thesis analyzes trends in life expectancy of long-living people in the Czech Republic. Aim of this study is to compare developments in life expectancies for long-living people in the Czech Republic and Austria between 1960-2014, both in terms of predetermined age groups and between both sexes. This work also includes a projection of mortality rates and life expectancy. Projections are calculated for year 2050, specifically for people of 60 years and older, and it is based on mortality projections from the Czech Statistical Office. Values are given for men and women separately. While calculations and estimates show that life expectancy is extending, it impacts most developed countries with the burden of aging population, manifested by overal decline in mortality rates and increasing amount of elderly people. Historically in most societies an 80 year old, or older person was a rarity, but in recent years their number is increasing to the point of being a new normal. This trend is obviously positive, but it does pose a number of challenges for the respective societies, especially for their pension, social security and medical systems.
