Speech aids for Children and Schoolchildren with comunication disorder

The topic of the bachelor thesis is speech therapy aids for children with communication disorders. This is discussed both on theoretical and practical basis. The theoretical part defines speech therapy aids. The description proceeds from a general point of view to a more specific definition in the context of disrupted ability to communicate. Individual parts of the thesis allow a more profound perspective on these issues, including functions, principles, definitions and classification. In the practical part of my work I present the results of my research focusing on mapping speech therapy aids for children with communication disorder at a present-day marketplace (on a random sample of speech therapy aids). The goal of the bachelor thesis is to show a comprehensive view on the theoretical issues of speech therapy aids for children with speech therapy disorders. It should stress the importance of manufacturing and use of speech therapy aids. Keys: aids, speech therapy aids, communication disorder, toys, product, technical tools.
Datings logopedic care special nursery schools for children with impaired communication skills

Tématem mé bakalářské práce je "Hodnocení logopedické péče v mateřských školách speciálních". Bakalářská práce se skládá ze dvou částí, z teoretické a praktické. V teoretické části je charakteristika předškolního věku, předřečového vývoje, vlastního vývoje řeči, narušené komunikační schopnosti, logopedické intervence. Dále charakteristika Rámcového vzdělávacího programu pro předškolní vzdělávání. V praktické části je výzkumné šetření, které vedlo k hodnocení logopedické péče v mateřských školách speciálních. ANNOTATION The topic of my thesis is "Evaluation of speech therapy in special numery schools". The thesis consists of two parts, theoretical and practical. In the theoretical part is a characteristic of preschool age, předřečového development, cystom development of speech, communication disorders, speech therapy intervention. Further characterization of the Framework educational program for preschoolers. The practical part of the research which led to the evaluation of speech therapy inspecial numery schools.
Interaciton between speech and motion of a schoolgirl with developmental dysphasia

Final work "Interaction between speech and motion of a schoolgirl with developmental dysphasia" is focusing on finding in which way are speech and movement skill interacting specifically in the case of a school-girl with serious developmental dysphasia. In its theoretical part I'm focusing at first on the term disturbed communication ability, development dysphasia, its symptomatology and then at the term verbal development dyspraxia. Important information concerning this dilemma are also listed in second chapter which focuses on the problem of reading, process of mastering of reading and writing with understanding. The third chapter of the theoretical part is focusing on characteristics of terms as movement, motoric acts, coordination and also dyspraxia. I based the practical part on testing of children of the third grade at usual basic school as well as at the basic logopaedia school, which is attended also by the school-girl with serious development dysphasia I've been observing and monitoring. I created two different tests. First about reading with understanding and then second one about movement abilities. Their goal was to find in which way are reading and movement abilities interacting. Stuttering, disorder of communicative ability

The topic of the thesis is stuttering, communication disability. The main purpose of the thesis is to gather information connected to the communication ability disturbance. Furthermore to gather the information about etiology, symptoms, occurrence, prevention and therapy. In addition the thesis attempts to analyze didactic material contributing to development of speech and eliminating indications of incipient speech disorder during childhood. The didactic material is based on questionnaires and represents possible practical usage for teachers in nursery schools and for the parents as well. The theoretical part deals with the main concepts such as communication, communication disability and stuttering. The concepts are further elaborated concerning symptoms, occurrence, etiology, types, prevention and therapy. The practical part of the thesis was implemented on the ground of quantitative research. The response rate to questionnaires was fifty responders. All responders were women with teaching experience in nursery schools and kindergartens. The conclusion provides specific methodological exercises based on the research.
Parents Awareness and Cooperation in Preventing Speech Problems

The Bachelor thesis deals with the issue of parents awareness and their cooperation with nursery school in the process of preventing speech disorders. It identifies parents evaluation of the nursery school, their interest in obtaining information and their willingness to cooperate in speech care. It also covers the process of speech development and speech and communication disorder prevention. The thesis also suggests solutions of these issues based on a conducted questionnaire survey.
Communication skills of social worker in contact with applicants for an allowance for care with intellectual disabilities

This work deals with communication with people with intellectual disabilities during the negotiation of allowance for care. The work emphasizes the communication skills of a social worker. The theoretical part describes mental retardation, communication, communication disorders, allowance for care, and the work deals with the specifics of communication with people with intellectual disabilities. The work also includes practical advice for communicating with the people with intellectual disabilities. In the conclusion of the theoretical section are described the communication skills of a social worker with a focus on dealing with people with intellectual disabilities. The practical part describes the research on communication skills of a social worker at the City Office in Tabor and evaluates the causes of its failure. Due to the appreciation of the practical research also includes a simple methodology that includes practical advice on how to deal with clients with intellectual disabilities in an interview at the office. Furthermore, the practical part contains an analysis of competencies required by employers in the position of social worker based on ads offering job. Communicating with people with intellectual disabilities in the City Office is neglected topic, but very important, due to the efforts to integrate people with intellectual disabilities into society as much as possible. The ability of a social worker to communicate and negotiate with people with intellectual disabilities may be one of the ways to access offices for these clients.
Utilization of alternative and augmentative communication systems for children with cerebral palsy

This thesis describes the use of alternative communication systems with children who suffer from cerebral palsy (CP) The introduction of the thesis briefly defines CP, its varieties and the causes of its outburst. I paid particular attention to defected communication skills of individuals with CP which negatively affect one's development. The overview of alternative and augmentative communication methods (AAC) focuses particularly on the methods aiming at compensation of impaired communication skills used in the Czech Republic. Second part of the paper contains case studies describing concrete situations with individual children. All the studies examine cases of clients with CP using the AAC. The goal of the paper is to define whether the use of AAC methods leads to an improvement of social relationships and learning skills. The research shows that the use of AAC systems positively affects social relationships and communication skills.

Individual chapters deal with communication, speech and the influence and the influence of the family, media and kindergarten on the development of communication skilles in these children. In the next section, then use the questionnaire method identifies, how to evaluace the kindergartener level of verbal expression in children in the preschool class.
The children´s book utilization during the kindergarten individual speech therapy care

The bachelor thesis ascertains possibilities for the usage of children's books in individual logopedic therapy in the pre-school education. The theoretical part consists of the description of the physiological speech development. Consequently definition of the term disturbed communication disability is given and its distinctive types are mentioned. Further the system of integration of the children with disturbed communication disability is presented along with its related legislation. The first part is concluded with the outline of children's literature subdivision. The practical part deals with the selection of particular titles of children's literature and the examination of their influence on children with different types of disturbed communication disability.
