The Mutual Economic Relations between the Czech Republic and Austria

The objective of this bachelor thesis was to analyze the mutual economic relations between the Czech Republic and Austria (especially since the Czech Republic joined the EU), to consider the potential of their future development and to show how important Austrian capital has proven in modernisation of the Czech banking sector. The thesis is divided into two parts: The first part defines economic relations, determines the legislative and political background of those between the Czech Republic and Austria, describes the recent development in the fields of merchandise trade, trade in services, foreign direct investment as well as movement of labour force, and contemplates its perspectives. The second part consists of the above-mentioned case study.

The analysis of local authorities debt

Graduation thesis deals with the debt of municipalities and regions. Its subject is the analysis of local authorities debt, namely the most frequent causes, development and comparison between municipalities and regions. Furthermore, it describes the possibility of regulating municipal debt. A part of this thesis is an analysis of revenues and expenses of municipalities, their possible influence and a description of the most frequently used returnable revenues. The practical part is focused on the debt of capital city Prague, which has a specific position as a town and region together. Prague's economy, the debt size and the rate of indebtedness will be analyzed and assessed based on informing and monitoring system indicators. An estimation of Prague financial outlook is included at the end of thesis.

Improving the Quality of the Town Infrastructure in the Area of Tourist Trade as the Developement Factor in the Region.

This project will markedly contribute to the development of the town of Horní Stropnice and as well as the whole South Bohemian Region in the area of tourist trade. Tourist trade is one of the key areas of the economic developement of the region. From the findings of the particular chapters of this paper it appears, that necessary organisational, technical and financial conditions for the implementation of the given capital assets and for consequent running of the planned project facilities will be created. The implemented project and its operation will generate a trading income exceeding the costs.

Present image of the folklore within the area of the capital city Prague and the Central Bohemia Region

The bachelor thesis focuses on the present image of folklore within the area of Prague and Central Bohemia Region. The thesis surveys the activities of the local folklore ensembles and introduces the cultural events and festivals with the folklore theme. Further it depicts the characteristics of the folk costume in this district, contains the division of the Czech Republic into the ethnographical regions, mentions the activities of the Folklore Association of the Czech Republic and focuses on the presentation of folklore in media.

Efficiency of the regional economy

This work deals with the measurement of the regional economics. The calculation of GDP is based on the methodology of European System of Accounts 1995. GDP per capita is a key indicator for the regional policy in the EU. There are many complications in the proces of compilation of GDP. Today, a special attention is payd to the quality of regional indicators of gross value added and regional gross fixed capital formation.

The use of cultural capital in tourism / Berlova vápenka

The theme of the Bachelor thesis is the use of cultural capital and potential of the region called "Železné hory" that is associated with the tradition of lime, introduced specifically for the project Berlova vápenka in Třemošnice. The work includes theoretical information related to culture, animation of culture and tourism. This theoretical information is further connected with the region of "Železné hory" and the project of Berlova vápenka in Třemošnice. The thesis shows the comprehensive view of the whole project of the restoration of Berlova vápenka presented from the very beginning, when the complex was declared as a cultural heritage, to revive the building. The aim of this work is, through the use of a questionnaire, to ascertain the views of local people on the project and its current use. The attention is also dedicated to the current benefits of the project, especially in tourism and consequently to the potential benefits in future.

Selected support programmes for SME's

In the first part of this thesis there is described sector of SME's in detail and support they get from state. There is elaborated influence of SME's on Czech economy, particularly on added value, employment, investments and foreign trade. Apart from that there are specified some of their advantages and disadvantages that arise mostly from their size. In the first part there is further described support programme OPPI which focuses on innovative oriented SME's. There is also described JEREMIE initiative that is based on cooperation of public finance together with venture capital funds. Furthermore there is stressed the importance of innovations for flowering of economy based on knowledges. In the second part there is described venture capital in detail, especially there is explained how it works, types of venture capital investments and linkage between venture capital and innovations. The thesis then focuses on presence of venture capital in CEE region and particularly in Czech Republic. There are also pointed out typical types of investments in CEER and Czech Republic.

Financing of enterprise with considering to optimize capital structure

The main aim of this work is financial analysis and evaluation of capital structure, whose calculation is applied to concrete company from the South Bohemian region. The analysis was done in three dimensions, when firstly the capital structure of the company was analyzed including horizontal and vertical analysis. Further, types of financing are described and in conclusion the financial efficiency and capital structure are evaluated.
