Vliv chovu na kvalitu tuku kapra obecného (Cyprinus carpio)
ZAJÍC, Tomáš
It is the sad fact, that in the Czech Republic, consumption of fish is very low compared with the European Union average, but, at the same time, it belongs to the countries with the highest incidence of cardiovascular diseases. Sufficient intake of n-3 poly-unsaturated and highly-unsaturated fatty acids (n-3 PUFA and HUFA) is important in preventing and treating cardiovascular disease. Fish is the main source of these compounds in the human diet. This thesis examined factors influencing n-3 PUFA and HUFA levels in fish lipids and ways of increasing the n-3 fatty acid (FA) content in freshwater farmed fish.First, production of common carp (Cyprinus carpio L.) with defined flesh quality using a finishing feeding strategy and prediction of fillet FA by a dilution model were investigated, the effects of purging on lipid content and fillet quality of common carp in Central Europe were examined in fish kept for up to 70 days in clear water without feeding; and changes caused by frying on fat uptake, fatty acid composition and oxidation in the fillet of carp with increased n-3 fatty acid content were examined using four different fats to fry either plain or battered fillet.

Immigration policy of the European Union focus on Italy
Skálová, Miroslava ; Ševčíková, Michaela (advisor) ; Urban, Luděk (referee)
The aim of this bachelor thesis is an analysis of the immigration policy practiced in Italy from the 1990s to the present. In the theoretical part, I characterize the development of approaches to migration, which is important for understanding current trends in the immigration policies of particular countries and also for the future development of migration flows across Europe. In the practical part, I will focus first on the impacts of migration on the labour market, the employment of immigrants and associated problems, such as legal and linguistic barriers. I will analyse the national structure of employment of foreigners in Italy, the reasons why they decided to live there, and what influence the migrants have on the economic, social and demographic development of the country. Using statistical and demographic calculation methods, I analyse the age and national composition of foreigners in Italy, i.e. their average age, lifespan, age index and other aspects. At the end of the work I will assess the historical and current attitude of the EU and/or Italy towards Italy's immigration policy.

Conatimanation of vineyards soils by Cu
Kovářová, Lucie ; Mihaljevič, Martin (advisor) ; Komárek, Michael (referee)
The aim of this bachelor thesis is to resume existing knowledge regarding the contamination of vineyard soils with copper, which is mainly caused by a long-term application of Cu-based fungicides used to control wine downy mildew (Plasmopara viticola). The role of Cu as a trace element in the natural environment is discussed, as well as natural Cu contents in soils and in the Earth's crust. This manuscript is based on international scientific articles focusing on the above mentioned subject. The thesis discusses the problems of contamination of vineyard soils by Cu, deposition of Cu compounds into the soils, interaction of Cu with soil components and possible formation of mobile or immobile Cu soil forms, their behavior and factors influencing this behavior and possible environmental risks e.g. phytotoxicity, contamination of water bodies or contamination of fluvial sediments. Additionally, average Cu contents in agricultural soils in Europe and worldwide were compared with European and international guidelines and limits. Total Cu contents in some of the vineyards soils exceed legislative regulations and in case of further utilization of such soils, an additional analysis would be necessary. Key words: contamination, copper, vineyard soils, heavy metals

Survey of profitability of European companies by sector and countries in 2013
Helcl, Jan ; Marek, Petr (advisor) ; Dufková, Eva (referee)
The aim of this thesis is to evaluate the performance of companies in selected sectors across the European Union. Return on assets, EBIT profitability and return on equity were examined. For deeper understanding the decomposition was made. The best performing sector in terms of selected indicators turned out to be Manufacture of leather and leather products. The least profitable was Manufacture of coke, refined petroleum products and nuclear fuel. Better performing countries were located in Northern Europe. Countries in Southern Europe showed on average poorer performance. The Czech Republic reported above average results in terms of all chosen indicators.

Competitive balance in professional sports leagues
Kováč, Ivan ; Kotáb, Jiří (advisor) ; Kuchár, Róbert (referee)
The thesis deals with the competitive balance in professional sports leagues. It focuses on the comparison of two systems: open European and closed North American. Aim is to analyze competitive balance in selected leagues. Open system is represented by the top football leagues of Europe and closed by NHL. It specifies what regulatory instruments are adopted. The thesis also tries to find answer to question whether competitive balance influences the average attendance. Within NHL, it examines whether salary cap improved the competitive balance.

Relationship between family policies and fertility in Bulgaria and Romania
Krejčí, Anna ; Kocourková, Jiřina (advisor) ; Fialová, Ludmila (referee)
Aim of this work is to analyse trends in fertility and developments in family policy in Bulgaria and Romania. The study is focused on different measures of family policy in both countries and it tries to clarify their impact on fertility. An investigated period starts from 1960's with an emphasis on the changes after the collapse of the Eastern Bloc. The basic source of data is Human Fertility Database, Council of Europe and Eurostat. Transversal and longitudinal indicators of fertility and method of decomposition are used. The principle of this method is breakdown of deviation from the average fertility rates in a given period. The method allows to distinguish influence of given period and influence of cohorts.

Regional Climate Modeling
Belda, Michal ; Halenka, Tomáš (advisor) ; Huth, Radan (referee) ; Metelka, Ladislav (referee)
Regional climate models are commonly used for downscaling global climate simulations to the regional scale using nested limited-area models. One of the main goals of this work was the application of regional model RegCM in very high resolution for the region with complex topography in the framework of EC FP6 project CECILIA. RegCM was employed to downscale climate change scenario simulations performed by ECHAM5 model according to the IPCC A1B emission scenario for Central and Eastern Europe in 10km resolution. Validation of model performance, assessed by nesting RegCM in ERA-40 reanalysis, shows improvement of regional climate patterns mainly in mountainous areas. Temperature is well represented with mostly cold bias around -1 žC. Precipitation is affected by large biases around 80 %, in mountainous areas up to 400 % overestimation in winter. Downscaled climate change signal shows average warming 0.51.5 žC in period 20212050 and 24 žC in period 20712100. Precipitation changes are mostly within ±0.5 mm/day. RegCM3beta version with adjusted precipitation scheme parameters shows improvement of the precipitation bias, difference in climate change is rather negligible. Experiments with different convection schemes of RegCM in a case study for Africa performed in the framework of CORDEX project are...

Position of occupational therapy in System of Rehabilitation
PULKERTOVÁ, Jindřiška
Rehabilitation is generally understood as a discipline solving mainly problems connected with motor system. However, the concept of rehabilitation is much larger. In fact, rehabilitation is the all-society system where restoration of moving functions is only one of goals on the way to one{\crq}s reintegration into society. There are a lot of professions within this system participating in the process. Occupational therapy is one of them. The main goal of the dissertation is to introduce occupational therapy as a profession, and highlight its range and position in the system of rehabilitation. The dissertation answers the question on what occupational therapy can offer to the people in need of rehabilitation and investigates wether and how occupational therapy intervention can contribute to the rehabilitation proccess. Further more, the dissertation compares the roles of the profession in Czech Republic and Europe and uses the findings to formulate new hypothesis which can be used for a future research. The main approach of our dissertation is qualitative investigation. We chose the type of case study and participant observation. All that was completed with technique of secondary data analysis. In case studies and according to the experience from the London hospital has been discovered that occupational therapy deals with all components participating in execution of human activities. Occupational therapy assesses and provides interventions to improve sensomotoric, cognitive and psychosocial functions. The primary goal of occupational therapy is to enable people to participate in the activities of everyday life. The information obtained from trainee-ship on the Department of Occupational Therapy in London and data has charted and clarified position of occupational therapy. Main difference is in competency of the professionals. In Czech Republic competency are lower and more limited compared to the rest of Europe. Additionally, the number of occupational therapists is lower in our country than is an average in Europe. On the base of obtained information the new hypothesis has been made thereby both goals have been met.

Wesselská, Věra ; Kotlářová, Jana (referee) ; Klusoňová, Hana (advisor)
The aim of the submitted diploma thesis was to assess the attitudes of the secondary school students to the use of medicaments and the abuse of legal and illegal drugs and, at the same time, to assess a possible connexion with the psychical problems occurring in Opava region. The study forms a part of an international project monitoring young people's lifestyle in Europe. It was performed with the help of anonymous questionnaires, which were taken over from the Italian university degli Studi Camerino. In total 135 students of the third and fourth years of the grammar schools in Vítkov and Opava participated in this study during the school year 2006/2007. Out of them, there were 70.4 % of girls and 29.6 % of boys. Their average age was 17.6 years. Students consider the recreation use of illegal drugs the most dangerous way of behaviour, whereas the smoking and the drinking of alcohol were considered the least dangerous activities. In total 91.1 % of students used some medicaments during the last year, mostly analgesics and medicaments against infection. Almost 15 % select medicaments on their own. Most of pupils (88 %) believes that the use of medicaments may be beneficial on one hand, but that it can become also harmful. About 20 % of respondents used alcohol in combination with some medicaments,...
