The paper discusses the properties of the program EOD (Electron Optical Design), which contains interfaces for Windows, integrates all programs for 2D computations by the first order FEM, ray tracing in computed fields, simulation of electron and ion sources, and computation of space charge limited beams. Most parts of the software are in the beta development phase, and they are already used in a number of our projects. For example, it was used to simulate the behavior of ion optical systems for the ion beam deposition at TU Brno by including the plasma creation inside the ion gun as well as space charge effects in ion beams transported in the system. Electron guns with space charge effects can be computed as well, as illustrated on the example of the well-known Pierce electron gun. Graphical possibilities are illustrated on a 3D cut-away view of the electron gun for electron-beam welding
Mathematical Modeling and Simulation of Trickle Bed Reactors, Part 1
Tukač, V. ; Hanika, Jiří ; Chyba, V. ; Šimíčková, M. ; Jiřičný, Vladimír
Formulation of mathematical models of trickle bed reactors is a part of the report. Numerical metods for solution of math models and determination of parameters of TBR are presented.
The Management Of Stocks Of Spare Parts Logistics Chains
Vávriková, Lucia ; Kuncová, Martina (advisor) ; Zouhar, Jan (referee)
Thesis on the theme "The Management Of Stock Of Spare Parts Logistics Chains" deals with the specification of logistic chains, spare parts inventory management and functioning of these chains. The theoretical part focuses on the definition of the theoretical background needed to understand the functioning of these chains. It ranges from the definition of the logistics chain, through ABC analysis to the detailed characteristics of the chain of spare parts. Besides a general overview the thesis includes example from real practice. In the practical section, through simulation models thesis presents the operation and management of the spare parts logistics chains. The practical section shows the simulation model of the current situation and compares it with the model after the introduction of stock management in the company.
New product installation simulation
Medonos, Michal ; Dlouhý, Martin (advisor) ; Kuncová, Martina (referee)
One of the products produced by Motorpal a.s. is a camshaft. Recently, the company signed a contract with Bosch company to produce new types of camshaft. The analysis of the impact of the contract on the production was made by simulation. To perform the simulation it was necessary to map the whole process. The simulation of the current state was made in the first phase. The results shew many uneffectivnesses in the process and lack of capacity of some workplaces. Some changes in the process were suggested and tested with the aid of the simulation. The best results were achieved when the single-item flow was used. In the second phase the production of a new type of camshaft was added to the simulation. Analysis of these results was divided into two parts. The new production was analysed in the first part and it was discovered that the planned capacites are very deficient. The impact of the new production on the current one was analysed in the second part. It shew that this impact is negativ, especially on the duration of production.
Use of simulation programs for analyzing and improving the operation of the company (real situation)
Záhorovská, Zuzana ; Kuncová, Martina (advisor) ; Fábry, Jan (referee)
Aim of this thesis is to analyze the current situation, to identify bottlenecks and to propose improvements to the department of acquisitions in the selected financial company, which is an important part of the Czech market and which desire not to be named. In the first part of my thesis is provided to the reader a theoretical basis necessary to understand the following text. Then I create simulation models for individual teams, which take part in the mentioned department. These models are based only on average and total values. That is why in the next section, there is described the work to bring them closer to reality with shifts of administrators and the variable number of entities, which are processed throughout the day. Based on the analysis of calculated values, I propose two methods of redistribution of actions to reduce the number of employees and to increase their efficiency.
Systems Thinking and its Benefits for the Creation and Operation of Information Systems
Slovák, Martin ; Mildeová, Stanislava (advisor) ; Exnarová, Anna (referee)
The goal of this thesis is to summarize the mthods of systém thinking, and to analyze the benefits of using these methods while developing and using the information system on that basis. Part of the thesis targets is the creation of models for analysis of an organisation, projection and follow-up cration of na IS. The thesis also gives the views of IS use -- there it shows models for human resources and the views of services. The benefits of this thesis is the description of the methods of systém thinking, the application disciplines and their use while creating and using the IS. Other benefit should be the possibility to quicken the IS production and to lower external effects on the process of IS creation. In the domain of IS operation, the possibility of fuction modelling and the possibility of IT department simulation will be shown. In the first part of the work the topics of system thinking is defined -- from its definition to division o the problematics. In the same part there is also shown the impact of worldview and the application desciplines are defined -- such as systém analysis, systém dynamics and systém engineering. In the second part of the thesis, the reader can find the definition and analysis of the IS production -- mostly from the view of organization, for which the IS is designed. In the last part the readers may find the view of systems thinking and its benefits in the area of IS operation -- concretely the model, that shows and decribes the possibility of simulation and follow-up optimisation in the organization.
Discrete event simulation in MS Excel
Charvát, Karel ; Kuncová, Martina (advisor) ; Hladík, Tomáš (referee)
The topic of this thesis is discrete event simulation. The thesis introduces basic principles of discrete event simulation and Add-in SIMULANT for MS EXCEL 2007, which was created as a part of this thesis. Description of algorithms used in SIMULANT add-in and user guide are included in this thesis.
Selected Software Products for Simulation Modeling and its Comparison
Láznička, Jan ; Mildeová, Stanislava (advisor) ; Velehradský, Petr (referee)
A thesis deals with simulation modeling. After opening theoretic information about models, discrete and continuous simulations, computer technologies for systems modeling and individual phases of simulation process, there follows a case study, which demonstrates using of three software products for simulation modeling -- SIMUL8, Simprocess and Powersim Studio. Created models, experiments with them and given results, including well-arranged tabular comparison of mentioned computer programs according to defined criteria, point out strengths and weaknesses of each software. Simultaneously, data for selection of an appropriate program are presented, depending on a sphere type, which is simulation modeling to be applied on.
