City logistics and simulation in city logistics
Mervart, Michal ; Pernica, Petr (advisor) ; Eisler, Jan (referee) ; Kavalec, Karel (referee)
One of the biggest problems of today is transport, especially in the cities. The transport has many negative effects, like congestions, pollution and others. The solutions of this situation are very hard and they have no integrated methodology. This doctoral thesis has two theoretic objectives: 1. set up new concept of city logistics, which means the integration of several disciplines, important for integrated admission to soluted problems 2. validate the pertinence of simulation in the new koncept of city logistics, created in objective 1 The thesis has also one concrete objektive, which is the validation of effectiveness of one project. The investigated project is removal of the train station in Brno.
Comparison of Simulation Software and Areas of Its Application
Hora, Pavel ; Kuncová, Martina (advisor) ; Dlouhý, Martin (referee)
This diploma thesis deals with computer simulation. In the opening, there are descriptions of theoretical aspect of computer simulation, simulation model structure and individual phases of simulation process. After that follow areas of application, characteristic features of each area and classification of simulation models, that are used in those areas. In this thesis only 4 areas of application were chosen: automotive industry, logistics and transportation systems, healthcare and military simulation. Each application area contains descriptions of a few chosen simulation software products that are used in this area. At the close there is a price comparison of described simulation products, their usage in Czech Republic and their development evaluation.
Simulation of the course of the cultural event
Vávra, Michal ; Dlouhý, Martin (advisor) ; Kuncová, Martina (referee)
This diploma thesis deals with the question of simulation models. It is divided into the theoretical and practical part. The aim of the opening part, in which the fundamental theory is defined, is to familiarize the readers with the ideas and advantages which simulation models can offer. In its practical part the work already focuses on the particular simulation project which should point out the possibilities of utilization of these models in practice. The subject of this project is the simulation of the course of the cultural event in the O2 Arena stadium. The main goal of this project is creation of the authentic simulation model which would on the basis of the later analysis enable the elimination or optimalization of the predefined major problems that are connected with organizing big cultural events in this arena.
Econometric Analysis of Monetary and Fiscally Policy of the Czech Republic with Impacts to Business Area
Řičař, Michal ; Hušek, Roman (advisor) ; Kislingerová, Eva (referee)
Monetary and fiscally policy together form the main pillar of state policy, which allows responsible institutions to stimulate or damp the development of national economy. Crucial role of these operations should be research of impacts on the sectors of industry, the business entities, respectively. We can expect that stimulation, e.g. in the form of increased government spending or lower interest rate of the central bank, will have different responses across a range of branches. If mathematical model of alternative historical development of the economy is composed with simulations for selected industries, we can analyze how each branch is affected. If significant differences in response of macroeconomic stimulations are found, it is necessary to proceed to an analytical examination of the causal factors that could stand in the background probably. It appears appropriate to apply financial analysis and on its basis it is possible to evaluate the structure of assets, financing, attainment of profits and other factors, whose characteristics is a strong explanatory power of the composition and function of the analyzed branch in the economy as a whole.
The Simulation Model of the Development of Pension Insurance
Zárubová, Radka ; Dlouhý, Martin (advisor) ; Kuncová, Martina (referee)
First, this thesis introduces the system of pension insurance with state contribution including its proposed amendment made in 2009. Its aim is to forecast and to analyse expected development in pension insurance with state contribution. The main part of the thesis is focused on the simulation model of this insurance product. Within this model, annual interest on contributions is randomly generated and the amount of money a client of a hypothetical pension fund would receive is calculated. To facilitate this simulation, I programmed and attached (as a part of the thesis) an application in VBA language which enables to run this simulation in the preset number of replications. The thesis gives four examples of simulation experiments -- a simulation of pension insurance, and a simulation of pension saving, both versions both with and without contributions made by client's employer. The comparison of the expected efficiency of the both systems from the point of view of the government and a client is drawn at the end of the thesis.
Information support in decision making process in Logistics (SCM) - simulation
Jirsák, Petr ; Pernica, Petr (advisor) ; Vaněček, Drahoš (referee) ; Cimler, Petr (referee)
The thesis is focused on SCM and information support for supply chain managers with emphasis on modelling and simulation. The first main aim of the work is to verify the method for applicability in SCM problem solution. The second main aim is to analyse supply chains by means of modelling and simulation and find the most suitable supply chains for the area of The New economics. The third main aim is to analyse behaviour of supply chains under changing factors on which the supply chains are initially modelled. The output of this work is applicable in the theory, practice and education
Simulation predictions of the Czech economy
Vejdělková, Dita ; Hušek, Roman (advisor) ; Formánek, Tomáš (referee)
The thesis is composed of three main parts. The first part is theoretical and I deal here with economic relationships between macroeconomic magnitudes. Second part dedicated to the econometric theory of prognosis follows, in which I deal with different types of prognoses and prediction methods used at present. In the third, practical, part my intended aim is to create the best possible models of relations between fundamental macroeconomic magnitudes, using real Czech economy data, and to make simulation predictions of these magnitudes based on acquired models while utilising scenario analysis. First, I deal with choice of MSE and VAR models. Then follows the estimate of particular models and validation of prognostic capabilities of particular models for static and dynamic simulation. I conclude with elaboration of macroeconomic magnitudes prognosis while using scenario analysis.
Simulation of hospital evacuation
Novák, Jakub ; Dlouhý, Martin (advisor) ; Sornas, Ladislav (referee)
This diploma thesis deals with security in the hospital enviroment. The work creates a new evacuation plan for large-monoblock Hospital for adults in FN Motol. Evacuation plan covers all activities of the announcement of evacuation after the removal of the last patient from the hospital. For developed evacuation plan at workcompiled four simulation models in SIMUL8. With these models, theevacuation plan and tested models provide a quantitative value, according to which it can better prepare for possible evacuation. This thesis has fulfilled its purpose -- was created functional evacuation plan, and simulation models provide additional information as to which should be ensured smoother running of the evacuation.
Business simulation game design and its relevance for business education
Lurie, Michal ; Švecová, Lenka (advisor) ; Vrbová, Lucie (referee)
Master's thesis concerns itself with a design of a brand new business simulation game. The first part defines business simulation games as a specific form of educational activity and describes their individual components. The second part is fully dedicated to design. It specified goals and requirements for the proposed software application and economic model of the game and describes ways to implement them. The design focuses on technical aspects of the game, on defining specific algorithms for the model to use and on implications of relationships among variables in the proposed model.
Modeling of Partial Oxidation of Biomass Oil Suspension
Tukač, V. ; Hanika, Jiří ; Veselý, Václav ; Kovač, D. ; Lederer, J.
Mathematical modeling of complex chemical equilibrium during biowaste oil suspension gasification in pilot plant reactor was aimed in the study. Simulation results were compared with pilot plant experiments using rape meal suspension in high boiling hydrocarbons. Application for reactor design and process scale up could be realistic.
