Analysis of mastitis occurrence on chosen farm

Effect of dairy cows housing technology on mastitis occurrence
Brzáková, Lenka ; Stádník, Luděk (advisor) ; Jan, Jan (referee)
The objective of my bachelor thesis was evaluation of quality of housing, milking and making analysis of mastitis on chosen farm. First part of the thesis contains of literature summary about housing technologies, mastitis issues, their detection, originators, therapy and factors affects against their incidence. Thereafter is this part focused on tipes of milking parlours, corect milking procedures and mechanized milking. Materials and methodes of the thesis contains the characteristics of chosen farm where the quality and technology of housing, milking and nutrition of milk cows and other factors affecting presence of mastitis such as taking care of cloven hooves was watched in 2014. The incidence, detection and curation of mastitis was watched afterwards. Montamilk s.r.o. farm cradles 1,200 pieces of cattle and milk cows are about 419 out of it. In the part of thesis named results was watched and evaluated inspection of efficiency in inspecting year 2013 - 2014, which was stated on first lactated cows and on cows which are on second and further lactation. Milk yield was far better with cows on second or futher lactation according to data gathered during the study and expressed by diagram. Diagram of milk components (fat and proteins), which was divided by lactation, was expressed in this part too. Other examinated parameters was occurrence of mastitis - which milk cows, in which season is the occurrence more often, treatment and cost of treatment for one cow. At the end the number of somatic cells for 2014 was represented in diagram for particular lactations. In part of thesis called discusion the comparison was drowed between results from chosen farm and national average of efficiency checks. From results is obvious that milk cow in Mnotamilk has been better in first lactated cows by 427 kg and in second and more lactated cows by 602 kg than is the avarage in Czech republic. Far more the milk components in Montamilk was compared with rest of Czech republic and the results was quite similar. The volume of fat of Montamilk cows was lower in every lactation in comparison with milk cows from Czech. Value of fat in Czech republic avarage first lactated cows is 3,87 % in Montamilk 3,85 % and the value of fat on second and more lactation cows is 3,86 % in Czech average and 3,81 % in Montamilk.
The description and evaluation of the automation of selected technologies used for milking cattle
Tesař, Tomáš ; Vaculík, Petr (advisor) ; Přikryl, Miroslav (referee)
This Bachelor thesis is focused on automatic and conventional systems of milking cattle and further to compare fully automatic and less automatic milking systems for the cattle. In first chapter are listed basic legal standards, characteristic of milk and description of the basic elements of the milking equipment. In second chapter is described milking equipment, which are used for milking cattle. In third chapter is described milking using technology of milking robot and milking with operator. In last chapter is listed its own evaluation of individual used technologies and technological equipment with respect to the automation of selected activities.
The evaluation the effect of the milking robots to basic indicators in the dairy farming
Šustr, Jaroslav ; Vaculík, Petr (advisor) ; Přikryl, Miroslav (referee)
This dissertation describes problems of traditional and mostly automatic systems used for milking of cattle used in farming in the Czech Republic. The theoretical part of this work provides the basic principles of cattle farming and a brief historical progression of technology for cattle milking. For more thorough comparison a general description of an existing technical solution for a conventional method of milking is introduced here. Further parts of the report give general concepts from industrial robotics. The aim of this dissertation was to use practical knowledge to describe existing technology of automatic milking machinery and the impact of their technological development for the improvement of the effectiveness of milking in real operations of cattle farming in the Czech Republic.
Porovnání vybraných ukazatelů welfare dojnic dojených v dojicím automatu a na rybinové dojírně
KOUTEK, Martin
The aim of this diploma thesis was to obtain and formulate the knowledge about the process of milking and the activity of dairy cows 30 minutes after milking in the milking parlour with a robot and in the herringbone milking parlour. Three ethological observations took place in three seasons. The observation on the farm with a milking robot took 24 hours continuously. The observation on the farm with a milking parlour lasted for the duration of milking and subsequent observation of the last group of dairy cows. In total, there were evaluated 452 successful milkings on the farm with the robot and 112 successful milkings on the farm with the milking parlour. Crosses of Czech Fleckvieh Breed and red Holstein Breed in the same ratio were observed during the monitoring. Parameters during milking and ethological performance, such as drinking, feed intake and lying down, in the duration of 30 minutes after milking were monitored. The instructions of the thesis are based on the project NAZV - QJ1210144 and NAZV QJ1530058.
Selected welfare parameters of milk cows in relation to milking by a robot.
PRŮŠA, Jan
The aim of this work was to gather and evaluate the evidence about the behaviour of dairy cows during the milking by a robot (including physiological reactions running after the milking). The following parameters were observed: number of milking per 24 hours, the time from onset to the robot and the teat cup deployment, the time between milking, the total time of milking, milk yield with each milking, average and total milk yield per day. The results were measured separately in heifers and in cows on the second and subsequent lactations. In the same time, there was also observed the behaviour of cows after leaving the milking robot - feed and water intake, physical activity and the rest for the time of 30 minutes after the milking. Simultaneously, there was also observed the effect of milking technology for the health of the cows, focused on diseases of the mammary gland. There were three ethologic observations which always lasted 24 hours. In addition to the observed data, there were evaluated the data records obtained from the milking machine (e. g. milk yield per one milking, the interval between single milkings, etc.). There were observed an average of 60 pieces of cows. Throughout the watching the cows in the barn behaved calmly and contentedly. They came to the milking machine spontaneously, only a few cases had to be herded for milking by the caregiver. However, they were all the heifers which did not have the sufficient experience with the milking. The counting of teat cup deployment attempts had to be abandoned because of the close proximity of the observer at the milking robot. In this case, the cows were not quiet and did not want to go in the robot spontaneously. The mammary gland disease was diagnosed at an average of 6.9 pieces of milked cows per one month. This high number of cases is ascribed to a poor hygiene of the stables and a poorer quality of feeding. This work was created in cooperation with the grants NAZV QJ1210144 and NAZV QJ1530058.

Hájková, Lucie
This bachelor's work is focused on selected influences which have impact to the market production mare's milk. Work consists of two parts. First part is theoretic. This part is focused on composition of mare's milk. Within this part there was made mare's milk sampling and analysis. This milk was milked from breed Hafling. This part includes also influences which impact market production mare's milk. Monitored effects were order of lactation, feeding dose, season and breed. Second part deals with own proposal of the farm construction with mare's milk production. This part describes buildings which will be part of farm, especially stalls for breeding animals, milking house for mare's milk production and other buildings which will be used within riding club. Further there is characterized livestock which will be breed at the farm with focus on its breed. At the end the offered services and price list of this service are described. Within proposal there were carried out survey in the village Drnovice. Twenty-one families with children were interviewed. Interest in mare's milk and products made of this milk was evaluated on the base of this questionnaire.
Comparison of cattle milking machine technology.
ZAJÍC, David
The bachelor thesis is focused on comparing the technology of mechanical milking cattle. This thesis deals with the development and overview of techniques and technologies used in milking cattle. Moreover, we have analyzed each of the technologies. The aim of this thesis is to realize an economic analysis of each technology. To conclude, it was found that for dairy cattle breeders is very interesting technology milking robots. This technology will limit the number of workers and the introduction of capital-intensive milking system ensures the potential profitability, economic effect, returns and, last but not least, the increasing demands on the physiology of dairy cows.
