Effect of temperature on electrochemical parameters of Li-S battery
Bečan, Jan ; Skala, Kateřina (referee) ; Jaššo, Kamil (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis deals with the production of lithium-sulfur battery and the effect of changing temperatures on its electrochemical parameters. The theoretical part is focused on primary and secondary batteries and their historical evolution, anode and cathode materials for lithium-ion batteries and next-generation batteries. The practical part is focused on preparing the electrode material for lithium-sulfur battery, completion of electrochemical cell and measuring the values of cycling charge/discharge at different temperatures.
Carboxymethyl Cellulose As The Binder For The Lithium-Sulfur Batteries
Jaššo, Kamil
Demand for the high energy density batteries significantly increased along with the rapid development of new power source depending technologies. While these technologies are rapidly evolving, the battery industry is lagging behind unable to meet the demand. As a prospective successor to the existing li-ion battery technology, can be the high-capacity lithium-sulfur battery system (Li-S). The most commonly used composition of the positive electrode material of Li-S batteries is a mixture of sulfur, carbon and PVDF1 binder mixed in NMP2 solvent, which is (according to the WHO3) slightly toxic. The article deals with a replacing PVDF with organic non-toxic water-soluble binder.
Advanced Technologies In Battery Sources
Pagáčová, Lenka
This article discusses the advanced technologies in battery sources. Introduction is focused on our modern society in conjunction with electrochemical energy sources. The core of article include two plots from this topic and explains the parameters of different sources. In the last part of this article is presented one type of energy source that is not currently used in practice, however it can be interesting for future aplications. Conclusion sumarizes the information from article.
Distribution of sulfur isotopes in peat bogs
Haluzová, Eva ; Mihaljevič, Martin (advisor) ; Zachariáš, Jiří (referee)
The goal of this barchelor thesis is to describe the influence of human activity to sulphur cycle and monitoring processes and changes in this cycle with the assistance of specific sulphur isotopes. The first part describes sulphur and its compounds, then appearence in environment and its total cycle. The next part is focused on specific sulphur isotopes and thein application in studies of soils and peats. The final part summarizes total results and informations of human activity and it's influence on the sulphur cycle.
Trends in composition of atmospheric precipitation and deposition in Europe
Šimková, Petra ; Hůnová, Iva (advisor) ; Maznová, Jana (referee)
This bachelor thesis describes the historical development of emissions and their associated composition of atmospheric precipitation and atmospheric deposition in Europe. It is the work with review character, which summarizes and evaluates current knowledge of the majority components of atmospheric deposition. It relies particularly on articles and a summary reports of monitoring networks devoted to the large time horizon. At the beginning part of this work are defined the major components of atmospheric deposition. In another part is described composition of atmospheric precipitation, sampling dry and wet deposition and subsequent chemical analysis. The main part is devoted to evaluate the development of emission and sputtering of the main trends of acidifying compounds, and basic cations in Europe. Emission and deposition trends are divided into time periods, which were defined in relation to the development of historical, political or economic situation. Another criterion in the evaluation of trends in the composition of atmospheric precipitation and atmospheric deposition was the State's geographical position within Europe. There are summarized the results of studies on the deposition trends across Europe, but the main attention is devoted to the differences between Western and Eastern Europe...
Monitoring of the content of selected elements in the batch for blast furnace and their influence on optimizing the production of pig iron
Filipová, Iveta ; Němec, Karel (referee) ; Juliš, Martin (advisor)
This Bachelors thesis deals with monitoring the content of elements in batch for blast furnace and their influence on optimizing the production of pig iron. Contents in output materials were also recorded. For a given time period were monitored especially the quantity of sulfur, phosphorus, manganese, zinc, iron and alkali (K2O, Na2O) in cooperation with TŘINECKÉ ŽELEZÁRNY, a.s. and their material balances were subsequently forged. Processed regression analysis show the influence of batch on the content of individual elements in the output materials.
Preparation and characterisation of electrode materials based on elementar sulphur for Li-ion cells
Jankulár, Tomáš ; Vondrák, Jiří (referee) ; Čech, Ondřej (advisor)
This thesis deals with the preparation and characterization of electrode materials for Li-ion batteries based on elemental sulfur. The theoretical part is focused on the characteristics of Li-ion batteries, electrochemical reactions, the process of electrochemical lithiation of sulfur and solubility properties of intermediate polysulfides. The practical part of the thesis deals with the preparation of cathode materials for Li-ion cells with an active substance in the form of elemental sulfur. The prepared electrodes were investigated using cyclic voltammetry and galvanostatic cycling. Physical characterization by SEM and XRD was provided.
Lithium Sulphur Batteries
Juračka, M.
S+C cathode material was prepared by simple solid-state reaction in ball mill. Content of sulphur was approximately 80 wt. % in final sample. Cyclic voltammetry and galvanostatic charge/discharge techniques were used for characterization of the samples. Initial discharge capacity observed for S+C sample was 600 mAh/gsulfur. Capacity loss for S+C sample after 30th cycles was 66 %. Cycling loss is due to insoluble polysulfide formation. In this paper I present fundamental characteristics of Li-S batteries. This paper presents a principle of Li-S batteries, fundamental measurement and their evaluation. I present the techniques of measurement and preparation of cathode materials.
