Important personalities and events in Czech history

Attitudes concerning Czech history probed CVVM SOÚ AV ČR in October 2007. At first we investigated, who is the greatest Czech personality and what is the most considerable historical period according to our citizens. In context of twentieth century respondents also mentioned the events that are in their eyes most important since the First World War.
Men´s and women´s roles

November survey CVVM investigated public opinions about division of men´s and women´s roles in families. As in survey 2006, both partners should share worries about education, budget, hobbies and contacts. Career building is supposed to belong to men´s activities or activities of both partners, but mainly it should belong to a men´s role. On the other hand cooking is considered as women´s domain. Looking after children, shopping and cleaning are activities that should be shared by both partners, which is opinion of about half of respondents. These duties are supposed to be undertaken by both partners, but rather by women, which is opinion of the rest of respondents. According to respondents financial provision for the family is mainly a task for a man.
Confidence in Constitutional Institutions and Satisfaction with Political Situation in November 2007

In November 2007 within the regular survey CVVM SOÚ AV ČR, v.v.i., questioned respondents about their confidence in constitutional institutions. In this month there was a question about their trust to Chambers of Parliament, Government, President, Local and Regional Councils. As a part of the CVVM surveys there is a question about public satisfaction with current political situation in the Czech Republic. The regular survey of public confidence in constitutional institutions and satisfaction with political situation help to monitor development of public attitudes in the long term.
Party Preferences and Voting Model in November 2007

In November survey CVVM investigated how people trust to political Parties and whether they are willing to take part in elections to Chamber of Deputies. In the press release there are two different types of information : Party preference and a model of voting behaviour. Party preferences give us information about public sympathy with political Parties in the group of citizens who have voting right and there is also included a part of citizens who will not take part in elections or they do not knot who to vote for. Voting model indicate anticipated result of elections to Chamber of Deputies in the time of the survey. Voting model comes out of Party preferences but it includes only those who want to take part in elections and they answered us a Party they would vote for – in short this group does not include undecided people and non – voters.
Why people join the political parties

CVVM in October survey investigated how Czech citizens evaluate reasons for joining the political parties. Other questions asked respondents if they have wanted to enter into politics through a membership in some political party in the last ten years. As a part of this press information the answers are sorted according to sociodemographic indicators of the addressed sample of population.
General and political stances and left-right political orientation of the Czech population

Monitoring public stances on certain general and political issues is commonly included in researches of public opinion. The array of questions included in the October survey of the Public Opinion Research Centre focused primarily on general economic issues, selected aspects of social security and personal responsibility, and on the issue of freedom. The results reveal that, inter alia, the Czech public strongly prefers the maximisation of freedoms and the concept of a state that protects the freedoms and rights of its citizens in the event of their violation to a state that pre-emptively limits their rights and freedoms. As a part of the survey there was also a question about position of czech public in the left-right political spectrum.
Economic situation of households and evaluation of some social conditions

In October survey CVVM SOÚ AV ČR probed, how Czech citizens view the financial situation of their households. They particularly evaluated, whether it is difficult to manage with their earnings, but also talked about attitudinal feeling of poverty. Then we wanted to know which from the given needs it is difficult to satisfy for Czechs. Finally respondents made noises about situation concerning some social conditions.
Comparison of Present Situation and the Situation before November 1989 from Viewpoint of Czech Public

Within its October survey CVVM focused on the subject of comparison of today's situation and the situation before November 1989. Respondents compared then and present situation from their personal viewpoint in general as well as in some concrete particular aspects and they also were expressing their meaning to a question, if the change of system has repaid itself or not. The information consists also a comparison of new data with previous results.
The Image of Beer in Czech society in 2007

Within the continual project of monitoring the phenomenon of the beer in Czech society the topic of the image of beer was surveyed in October 2007. The press release provides us with overall information about general relationship of Czechs to the beer; about its status as the beverage appropriate or inappropriate for diverse situations and about occasions in which the beer is consumed most often. The attention is paid also to the social dimension of the public image of the beer and to the change of chosen indicators since 2004.
The beer brand choice in 2007

Within the continual project of monitoring the phenomenon of the beer in Czech society the topic of the brand and the brand identification was surveyed in October 2007. The press release provides us with overall information about the amount of people who prefer some beer brand; about the fidelity to the brand and about the willingness to try unknown brand instead of the known one. The attention is paid also to local aspects of brand preferences and to the development of selected aspects in Czech society since 2004.
