Blahoslav Pípal as Verbi Divini Minister
Hudcová, Debora ; Beneš, Ladislav (advisor) ; Filipi, Pavel (referee)
The Master thesis "Blahoslav Pípal as Verbi Divini Minister" offers a theological profile of a preacher. It is divided into six chapters. The introduction presents the character of the study. The second chapter describes the preacher ́s itinerary - Pípal ́s activity in several congregations of the Evangelical Church of Czech Brethern (ČCE). The third chapter is devoted to the thematical analysis of his sermons (main themes are God, christology, Church, life, man). The first part of the fourth chapter features the form and the structure of Pípal ́s sermons. It shows how the preacher works with the biblical text and how he addresses the auditory. Two sermons are analysed in detail in the second part of the fourth chapter. The final chapter presents B. Pípal as an exegete and as a translator. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)

Ageism and Elder Abuse and Neglect
Budilová, Michaela ; Cimrmannová, Tereza (referee) ; Ondrušová, Jiřina (advisor)
The aim of this work is theoretical mapping of the problem of ageism and its extreme form which represents the abuse of older people. In the first part of the work there is a space devoted to the description of ageism as a serious social problem, which uses the age as a basic organizational structure of society and sees it as a reason for discrimination. I am trying to summarize the current knowledge in the sources, motives, contexts, symptoms and consequences of this phenomenon. In more detail, I am dealing with three basic ageism burdened areas of public life, such as the labor market, health service and media. The second part of the work is focused on the extreme demonstration of ageism, the abuse of older people. I describe occurring forms of elder abuse and use case reports to attest its destructiveness and high social dangerousness. I summarize the theoretical concept of the phenomenon, known Czech researches, the possibility of prevention and assistance to victims with an emphasis on the activities of the ŽIVOT 90 association.

Nové inhibitory HIV proteasy: návrh, synthesa a testování aktivity
Schimer, Jiří ; Konvalinka, Jan (advisor) ; Obšil, Tomáš (referee)
More than 20 years after its discovery HIV protease still remains one of the primary targets in HIV treatment. Currently there are 9 approved protease inhibitors on the market. However, due to immense replication rate and the high error prone nature of reverse transcriptase, resistance to each of them has already been described. Therefore, the search for new protease inhibitors with different binding mode is still active. A novel type of protease inhibitors (1, 4-benzodiazepine analogs) was recently discovered in our laboratory. Even though this new class of inhibitors is highly potent (Ki' in range of 10-9 ), it also has several undesirable qualities, such as low solubility and a high number of stereogenic centers. Primary objective of this study was to try to prepare more soluble compounds with lower number of possible stereoisomers, enzymologically characterize its binding to the wild-type and mutated HIV protease and to determine its structure in the complex with the enzyme. A small library of 1, 4-benzodiazepine inhibitors of HIV protease was synthesized and fully characterized using NMR spectroscopy and mass spectroscopy. The number of stereogenic centers was successfully reduced from 4 to 2 without loosing activity of the inhibitor. The improvement in solubility was always associated with a...

The history and benefits of CT as an examination method
Melicharová, Ivana ; Adla, Theodor (referee) ; Bruna, Josef (advisor)
Historical development and contribution ct as investigative method My baccalaureate work is divided to the several part. At the beginning I'm deal with case - history computed tomography, where I'm mention names of physicists that the about discovery tomography deserved. Further I'm described structure computed tomograph, which to be almost near of all apparatus the same, only happens to perfection. It is perceptible near characterization separate generations CT apparatus, step by step escalate numbers of detectors and investigation happen for patients more convenient and thrifty in taken radiation dose. To investigation computed tomography is necessary application contrast medium, described an forms version, type contrast medium and their function. Work finishes summary of radiation empty weight for patients, scope of employment radiological assistant in the workplace of computer tomography and it's round off characterization computed tomography with dual energy of radiation. Investigation of CO oxidation on tin-cerium oxides by means of photoelectron spectroscopy and temperature-programmed reaction.
Václavů, Michal ; Bábor, Petr (referee) ; Matolín, Vladimír (advisor)
Metal-oxide and oxide-oxide interactions play an important role in heterogeneous catalysis. They influence electronic and crystallographic structure of catalyst surfaces, and consequently their adsorption properties. Nanosized powders of CeO2 supported tin oxide exhibit very good activity in NO reduction by CO. In order to contribute to the elucidation of the reaction mechanism we studied properties of SnO2/CeO2 by investigating the thin film model systems SnO2/CeO2/SiO2 prepared by rf-magnetron sputtering of ceria that were doped by tin oxide by means of thermal decomposition of tin acetate in air. The catalyst composition was characterized by photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and secondary ion mass spectroscopy (SIMS). The CO and NO reaction was investigated by means of a chip flow micro-reactor.

The music of Zdeněk Liška for the movie Markéta Lazarová
Černíček, Jan ; Gabrielová, Jarmila (advisor) ; Klimeš, Ivan (referee)
OBJECTIVES: The work will summarize our current knowledge of the film music composer Zdeněk Liška and create a list of literature on film music complemented with the author's comments. The main objective is a complex analysis of the music in Marketa Lazarová. This does not include the description of the relation between the sound track and picture. The thesis will provide a functional analysis of the music as a part of the structure of the film's expressional devices. METHODICS: The method chosen is a detailed study of available sources on Zdeněk Liška, complex analysis of a wide range of sources on the film Marketa Lazarová (including a copy of the musical score manuscript, handwritten notes by František Vláčil, several versions of the script ranging from the manuscript to a book release) complemented by interviews with close colleagues of Zdeněk Liška and František Vláčil, who were also present at the film production. Another part of the selected methodics is the creation of a system of viewpoints used for the analysis (musical expression, hierarchy of the musical numbers, form of the whole as well as individual parts, use of text, use of silence, use of musical objects internal and external to the picture). SUMMARY: Zdeněk Liška created a complex musical structure that corresponds well to the character...

Study of the local structure of binary surfaces by electron diffraction (XPS, LEED)
Gereová, Katarína ; Matolín, Vladimír (advisor) ; Pavluch, Jiří (referee)
Study of local structure of binary surface with usage of ultra-thin film of cerium deposited on a Pd (111) single-crystal surface is presented. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and diffraction (XPS, XPD), angle resolved UV photoemission spectroscopy (ARUPS) and low energy electron diffraction (LEED) was used for our investigations. LEED and X-ray excited photoemission intensities results represent a surface-geometrical structure. As well, mapping of ultra-violet photoelectron intensities as a function of emission angles is used for a band mapping and an electronic structure determination.

Artificial neural networks and their application in the assessment of insurance risks
Macek, Karel ; Jiroutek, Pavel (referee) ; Mrázová, Iveta (advisor)
The present work studies applicability of artificial neural networks in the assessment of insurance risk. Structure and function of multilayer perceptrons, Kohonen maps, Fuzzy ART networks, and Fuzzy ARTMAP networks are described. Concept of insurance risk is defined and the ratemaking by generalized linear models is introduced. Neural networks' methods for reduction of input space's dimension, knowledge extraction, and visualization are summed up. Data describing traffic accidents are acquainted and results achieved on them are presented. The work successfully demonstrates theoretically and experimentally that multilayer perceptrons approximate better than generalized linear models. Modification of multilayer perceptron estimated distribution function of total claim. Analysis performed by Kohonen map and by subsequent visualization detected two significant clusters. Analysis by Fuzzy ART network is presented as a part of new algorithm for reduction of input space's dimension. New algorithm inspired by Fuzzy ARTMAP network discovered a group of accidents where the claim is above average. This group is delimited by interpretable rules. Attached CD contains scripts for Matlab and MySQL that was used for mentioned analyses.

Historical roots of the conemporary minimalistic cinema
Böhm, Michal ; HOLÝ, Zdeněk (advisor) ; BOUDA, Marek (referee)
Mimalism represents a film style which still partially predominates on the contemporary art festivals although it reached its peak during in the beginning of the 21. century. Minimalism is a style which supresses the pallete of formalistic tools, expressive elements and typical narative structures and drama. It also works extensively with time and the depiction of everyday. Minimalistic cinema experience thus stimulates the audience to make their own interpretations of the story and the form altogether. The aim of this work is to analyze those historical cinema tendencies that bear most resemblance to the modern style of minimalism. I consider these films (and styles) to be the most predetermenative to the style of minimalism: Italian neorealism, spiritual work of Ozu and Bresson, experimental structural movies, the cinematic masterpiece Jean Dielman, 23 Commerce Quay, 1080 Brussels from Chantal Akerman and Antonionis movies with their narative structure.
