Problems of oil supply from the Russian Federation to the European Union.
Shtanko, Elizaveta ; Plchová, Božena (advisor) ; Korandová, Jiřina (referee)
The essence of my thesis implicates the significance of oil industry in foreign economic relations of the Russian Federation and the European Union, and also reinsurance of international energy security. As it is about global markets and well notable business partners, each of them hold undeniably eminent positions in the system of foreign relations of both countries, the problem of supply of energy resources, specifically the oil from the Russian Federation to the European Union, is very much actual and has an extensive significance for both Russian and Global economies. The energy problem is critical for the whole world community. It is clear, that short-term global product deficit of oil causes uncontrolled growth of prices, and slowdown of global economy. The international energy security doesn't only consist in depletion of oil reserves, but also in prevention of regional crisis and political instability in countries producing oil, due to scarcity of free production capacity against fast growing global demand for oil.
Development of EU's energy dependence
Glockner, Martin ; Vondrušková, Barbora (advisor) ; Bič, Josef (referee)
There is a huge disproportion, in the world we know today, in terms of geographical distribution between the mining sites and the location of final consumption of energy resources. The aim of this thesis is to analyze this imbalance, to quantify the dependence of the EU region and to analyze European energy policy, its conception, evolution and transformation.
Russian federation and its Natural Energy
Lamborová, Denisa ; Jeníček, Vladimír (advisor) ; Abrhám, Josef (referee)
Diploma thesis describes situation of Russian federation as an energy power. It is concerned with relationships of EU and Russia, especially with the distribution of russian energy resources to Europe. It describes projected gas pipelines, which do not cross the territory of Ukraine. Thesis analyses European union dependence on energy supplies (especially gas supplies) from Russia and is concerned with the question of Energy security. In the thesis there are introduced both relationships of Russia and EU (one subchapter is devoted also to relationships of Russia and Czech republic) and relationships of Russia and China -- rising and rapidly growing economy which needs a lot of energy resources to its growth, therefore China increases its energy demand and turns its interest to Russia. The main contribution of the thesis is conducted analysis of the situation of Russia as energy power and analysis of russian relationships with Europe (and china) and mentioned solutions of EU-Russia dependence on gas supplies.
Energy dependency of the EU with focus on Russia
Braunová, Marie ; Vošta, Milan (advisor) ; Harmáček, Jaromír (referee)
The European Union is becoming increasingly dependent on energy imports. Especially oil and natural gas imports are rising as their production in Europe declines. The most important energy partner of the EU is Russia, which delivers the biggest volumes of oil and natural gas to european countries. The highest rate of energy dependency on Russia can be observed in eastern and central Europe, where diverzification of energy supplies is one of key issues. It is necessary to reduce the energy dependency on russian gas, but at the same time, it is important to build a stable partnership with Russia, which is striving to become a leader at the global energy market, where demand for fossil fuels is rapidly rising. Apart from searching alternative suppliers to russian natural gas in order to achieve higher energy independence, an important role could play alternative energy sources, energy savings or rebirth of nuclear energy.
Energy volatility of the world economy and its impact on energy security of the Czech Republic
Kopecký, Jan ; Bič, Josef (advisor) ; Vondrušková, Barbora (referee)
Sustainable development of the human society is continuously dependent on energy resources. On one side, demand of energy resources still grows while, on the other hand, the availability of energy resources decreases. It is not determined only by decreasing reserves of non-renewable resources but also by other factors - economic, ecologic, technologic and by politics because possession of energy resources helps to strenghten economic power and makes it easier to enforce one's political interests. Thus it is crucial to be concerned with energy volatility of Europe (as a region) since solving this issue in Europe is directly connected with the Czech Republic which cannot deal with its energy volatility in an isolation on a national level.
