Matoušek, Roman ; Sýkora, Luděk (advisor) ; Kostelecký, Tomáš (referee) ; Rochovská, Alena (referee)
A just society, as understood in this thesis, has to deal with several challenges. The society needs to address injustuces which arise from unequal participation on economic system, from cultural (discoursive) practices and from imperfections of democratic participation. Moreover, it has to deal with spatial dimensions of social processes and with variety of geographical contexts. This thesis draws on critical social science traditions. Beside scientific constribution, the aim of the thisis is to point out some hidden or omitted social problems and injustices. In Czechia, transformation processes after 1989 led among other results to increasing income differentiation and discrimination of some population groups. In the housing sector, these processes resulted in creation of segregated socially excluded localities. Devolution of housing policies to local/municipal level created an opportunity for solving these problems with respect to local circumstances. These activities could be supported by the program of new rental housing construction for population with limited income which was provided by the State Fund of Housing Development. Using quantitative and qualitative methods, this thesis answers the question on (i) where was new public housing constructed, (ii) what were the motives of...
Prestige and social stratification in Czech society between 1988-1999
Křepelková, Zuzana ; Duffková, Jana (advisor) ; Buriánek, Jiří (referee)
In 1989 the Czech history was significant for the revolution which meant that Czech society has shifted toward the east to west. The company which prevailed in the egalitarian principles finds itself face to face with the reality of the Western World where their orientation did not belong. In the opinion of people still persisted not only a desire for social security but also a certain amount of indignation over the rapidly growing income differentiation, which was reflected negative evaluation of wealthier people - a role also played a series of scandals (tunneling and rapid collapse of the newly establishing businesses). The Czech company was prior to the1989 only minimally stratified. After the revolution was necessary to create a new elite, the middle class and in parallel to create the new bottom layer. Dynamic development was the emerging middle class old (enterpriser), more gradually evolved a new middle class (professionals with university education) whose conversion is a matter of several generations. Compare prestige (at the time of transform and in front of it) must be used as the default range of 1967 because this is the last range created in communist Czechoslovakia. Communist society was a static society and therefore we believe that stratification in 1989 has not changed. On top...

The scope of ordinary social workers of HN at CoP LO on the agenda of benefits in material distressis the processing of applications, providing advice and appropriate services, which affect both legislative, ethical and other documents of the organization, as well as the role of social workers in their work representing their competence, attitudes and values that imply to intervention with clients. Other aspects and factors that have a relevant impact on the human rights of clientsare the cooperation with other entities active in the environment and working conditions of social workers. Research of the thesis was through quantitative methods in the form of semi-standardized interview focused on mapping and factors that affect the implementation of the rights of clients. Questions have been targeted on subjective perceptions and opinions of the respondents in the area of benefits in material distress in Ceske Budejovice, regarding examined aspectsand factors that I have outlined above. The result of my thesis is the finding that the fulfilment of the rights of clients is negatively affected by the high administrative participation rates of social workers, which subsequently affects the individual approach, roles, competencies, values of social workers, and in cooperation with other agencies and organizations that are important to the saturation ofclients' needs. Officers of benefits of benefits in material distress from the position of the first-line workers do not have sufficient powers in defending the rights of their clients. It has been appealed to social workers to have been properly compiled their administrative formalities. The consequence of this administrative burden is the sideline of the individual of intervention with clients with the aim of saturation of their needs.

CHMEL, Matěj
The theme of the Bachelor thesis is The principles of the social justice and its reflection among the university students is a contribution to social justice, to one of the principles of the modern social politics. The social justice is a very complex notion and one of the conditions of the legitimacy of the government effecting the social politics of the state and its positive attitude to the principles of the social politics, which are accented by the society. The thesis is divided into the theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part is divided into 5 subheads. In the third subhead is deeper focus on social justice in the context of particular ideologies. The fourth describes social justice in the Czech Republic and the last deals with social justice in education. I chose qualitative research strategy using the method of substituting. As a data collecting technique I chose a semi-structured interview. The conception of the interview consisted of 20 questions, which correlated with the theoretical treatises and were adjusted so as to achieve the selected goal. With the help of the purposeful selection were chosen 10 communication partners, while 5 of them were students of economics field and 5 were students of specialization in helping profession. The main goal was to find out how the students interpret the principle of social justice in the context of social policy. This main goal was followed by 3 sub-goals. The first sub-goal has to find out how students interpret the principle of permission. The second sub-goal has to find out how students interpret the principle of equality of results. The last sub-goal was finding out what principles of social justice students prefer in educational policy. For the research were set 2 research questions. 1. What factors influence students in interpretation of social justice? 2. What is the relationship between studying university and interpretation of social justice? The results show that students most frequently emphasize the model solid bottom and open ceiling and principle of permission in context of heritage. Respondents in educational policy put most emphasis on the principle of equality of opportunity, which is from their perspective reinforced by the principle of equality of results, meritocratic principle and principle to each according to merit. Influence of studying field was evident especially in principle of equality of results, where communication partners studying study focused on helping profession interpreted this principle positively than communicating partners who are studying economic fields. This thesis could serve as a tool for students to understand the whole complexity of social justice and as basis for any discussion in the lectures and seminars connected to social policy. complexity of social justice and as basis for any discussion in the lectures and seminars connected to social policy.

Poverty and social exclusion: an ethical challenge for the Czech society
KOLÁŘOVÁ, Lucie
The thesis deals with the role of the state and society in their attitudes to poverty and social exclusion. The introductory part aims at characterising the phenomenon of poverty and social exclusion, and deals with the issue of how the society perceives poverty. It focuses on the concept of the culture of poverty, and attention is given to the need of solidarity, social justice and the social state. The following part of my thesis deals with the extent of poverty and social exclusion in the Czech Republic, as well as possibilities of a social safety net in the Czech Republic. It describes particular examples of the manifestation of social exclusion and poverty in the Czech society, especially in the sphere of housing, opportunities in the labour market and falling into destructive debts. It sheds light on the situation of Romanies as the worst affected population group. The current situation in the Czech Republic shows that the attitude of the society to poverty as a personal fault and failure, impedes mutual solidarity, and generates strategies connected with repression that fail to understand the causes of poverty. For this reason, they cannot be adequately efficient. The society should react to, consider and efficiently solve poverty-related problems. Inspiration may be found in Christian ethics and its concept of human dignity.
