Muslim holidays

The thesis called "Muslim holidays" provides the reader with an overview of selected Islamic holidays that are frequently celebrated in the Islamic society. Its primary goal is to look into the lives of young Muslims and to compare how this generation perceives these celebrations, especially the feast of Ramadan, what factors influence their behaviour and to which extent they stick to the traditional teaching of Islam. The thesis is divided into two parts. The first part is a theoretical part and focuses on the origin of Islam religion and its main principles. Also, public and family holidays of Islam are introduced. Nevertheless, the main focus is on the feast of Ramadan and different aspects of its celebrations. The second, practical part comprises of qualitative research. The main methods and objectives of the research are defined in this part and also, the criteria for the choice of respondents and the respondents themselves are introduced. In the conclusion, knowledge that has been achieved is described.
Current understanding of the sacredness and rituals

The work focuses on understanding the concept of the sacredness and the importance of rituals in contemporary family. It shows how the sacredness is understood by pupils at primary school compared to high school students and what the role of sacredness in their current and future lives is. The author handles the theoretical part on the basis of literature and a practical part is based on questionnaires distributed to students of primary and secondary schools. The aim is to handle the sacred topic from different perspectives and compare different approaches and opinions of students at this topic. The result is a detailed overview of the topics in the curriculum within it is possible to teach the sacred topics in those classes. The author will respect the principles of professional work and regularly consult with the supervisor.
Russian and Czech Folk Traditions at Christmas Time

The bachelor thesis deals with the analysis and detailed description of the basic holidays of the civil year in winter period of time. It also contains the study of the most popular folk traditions, religious rituals and beliefs of the Slavs from Advent till Christmastide or Christmas season. The historical background of the adoption of Christianity in the territory of the Czech Republic and Russia and the way how Christian church influenced on the origin of fundamental traditions and rituals has also been taken into consideration. There is also a description of the way the major Slavonic holidays are held. The thesis deals with such religious and secular holidays as Christmas, Advent, New Year, Christmas season, Epiphany and other traditional holidays.
Folk verbal art in the context of ethnolinguistics and its function in teaching Czech as a second language

Subject of the Diploma is a use of folktexts in Czech courses for foreigners. An education material draft is being submitted, based on communication approach to language teaching, connects language and socialcultural dimension through. Submitted education material is a calendar like that defines four seasons in the Czech Republic through their attributes, i. e. their essential characteristics, in the folktexts included, and supported by the folktexts also explains appropriate rituals, feasts and concepts of the seasons. All texts and information of the education material draft are chosen or adapted with respect to communication needs of the foreign language students and in order to introduce concepts and knowledge of the Czech geography, culture and cultural history.
Holidays and traditions in the process of integration of the Vietnamese minority in the Czech Republic - case study Vyšší Brod

This thesis will research, as its main theme, the integration of the Vietnamese minority in the Czech Republic. The author will use Migrant Policy Integration Index (MIPEX) and briefly describe the tools and intentions of the integration policy of the Ministry of Interior of the Czech Republic. The work will focus on the role of holidays and traditions in maintaining an awareness of the cultural identity of the Vietnamese minority in the Czech Republic. The author will analyze relevant scientific literature on this topic, and then try to confront this situation by interviewing Vietnamese in Vyšší Brod in South Bohemia. The author will also try to determine how these Vietnamese families approach holidays and traditions common in the Czech Republic.
Teaching of bank holidays and next significant days in Education to Citizenship classes

This diploma thesis is focused on important cultural and social connections of bank holiday and next significant days incorporation into Education to Citizenship on the second grade of primary schools. The work is divided into two parts - theoretical and practical part. The theoretical one is dealing with the definition and characterization of bank holidays and next significant days in the Czech Republic. In the next part there is described curricular reform of schooling and its documents. In the practical part there is analysed Framework Education Programme for Elementary Education into which are reflected problems of teaching of bank holidays and significant days in primary schools. Afterwards is researching focused on analysis of School Education Programme of Primary School and Kindergarten School for everyone in Osová Bítýška. The author is looking at bank holidays and next significant days incorporation into Education to Citizenship curriculum. In this part there are analysed Education to Citizenship textbooks with valid clause of Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports as well. Subsequently there were created model education units which were used in chosen primary school. The conclusion of diploma thesis is dealing with evaluation of realized classes and appraisal of contribution of created activities to pupils.
Art activities as a part of courses at DDM
MINAŘÍKOVÁ, Jana
The theoretical part deals with the meaning of the art courses and meaning of the following concepts such as creative design, drawing and painting. Crayon and Ceramics,. Thesis deals with creative aktivity which is part of many different celebrations, for example the children´s Day, city Festival, Christmas markets etc. Marginally I mentioned about summer paiting courses and one-day events which are organized by DDM for a public once a month. The practical part will be based on my own analysis of the work of the different departments and activities. The preparation of activities is based on study of books dealing with art activities, history of Art and folk culture, history of Stříbro. I will describe and document some of the meetings and events with children.
The customs and traditions in Czech villages during the year

The theoretical part of the essay explains the meaning of traditions, mainly the most used customs and traditions in the Czech Republic. They are sorted according to the seasons, where they belong. Those traditions and customs, arranged in chronological order, can be used as an inspiration for organizing the free time for children. In practical part of the essay the author uses her own experience in organizing the free time for children. Those activities are inspired by traditions. The author talks closer about preserved traditions in the village of Trpísty that is situated in Western Bohemia. She describes four activities with children which she organized: the custom of spring called Morena, painting of waiting room before the carnival celebration in summer time, creating of lanterns in autumn, parade on st. Martin´s day and Three Kings carol in winter. Those activities are adapted for children´s hobbies and their needs.
