High-pressure partial melting and its relationship to the granulite facies metamorphism: Implications for the origin of felsic high-PT granulites in the Bohemian Massif, central Europe
Nahodilová, Radmila ; Faryad, Shah Wali (advisor) ; Janák, Marian (referee) ; Kryza, Ryszard (referee)
Felsic granulites from the Kutná Hora complex in the Moldanubian zone of central Europe preserve mineral assemblage that record transition from early eclogite to granulite facies conditions, and exhibit discordant leucocratic veining, which is interpreted as evidence for melt loss during the decompression path. The granulites are layered and consist of variables proportions of quartz, ternary feldspar, garnet, biotite, kyanite, and rutile. In the mesocratic layers, garnet grains show relatively high Ca contents corresponding to 28-41 mol. % grossular end member. They have remarkably flat compositional profiles in their cores but their rims exhibit an increase in pyrope and a decrease in grossular and almandine components. In contrast, garnets from the leucocratic layers have relatively low Ca contents (15-26 mol. % grossular) that further decrease towards the rims. In addition to modelling of pressure-temperature pseudosections, compositions of garnet core composition, garnet rim- ternary feldspar-kyanite-quartz equilibrium, ternary feldspar composition, and the garnet- biotite equilibrium provide five constraints that were used to constrain the pressure- temperature path from eclogite through the granulite and amphibolite facies. In both layers, garnet cores grew during omphacite and phengite dehydration...

A history of the paintings of Palma il Giovane in the collections of the Lands of the Bohemian Crown to the present day
Wanková, Veronika ; Zlatohlávek, Martin (advisor) ; Konečný, Lubomír (referee)
A HISTORY OF THE PAINTINGS OF PALMA IL GIOVANE IN THE COLLECTIONS OF THE LANDS OF THE BOHEMIAN CROWN TO THE PRESENT DAY The diploma thesis deals in first part with the Palma's relationship to Titian's and Tintoretto's workshops. In spite of considering him as a Titian follower, the most latest research has denied this opinion and considers him as a painter working independently on Titian. However, Palma never refused to help to Titian's workshop if needed. He met Jacopo Tintoretto, another great Venetian painter of that time, during their common work on decoration of the Doge's Palace in Venice. This was an opportunity for Palma to get to know Tintoretto's style that he admired. At the same time, Palma created a very close relationship to Tintoretto and his son Domenico Tintoretto. Second part of the thesis describes Palma's works. After deaths of Titian, Tintoretto and Veronese, Palma was considered their successor and representative of traditional high- quality Venetian painting. He acquired a lot of orders and dozens of noblemen desired to own his paintings. Also aristocrats from Czech lands were interested in his works. Palma's works were coming here from several places - both directly from Venice and indirectly from Vienna or Nuremberg. I described sixteen paintings that are known to be...

Psychic and physical factors in a nurse profession at home care
IMRAMOVSKÁ, Simona
Homecare is given to people in their natural social environment. It is aimed mainly toward sustaining and supporting health, restoring health and improving possibility of self-care, giving palliative care to incurably ill patients and enabling peaceful dying and death. For the nurses to be able to give quality nursing care they need to be in psychic and physical balance. It is important for the nurses to be aware of the consequences of such imbalance and also of the way it influences the quality of their work especially when handling difficult situations (Misconiová; 1995; Paragraph nr. 96/2004 Col.; Komačeková, 2009). First aim was to map psychic and physical factors influencing the work of a homecare nurse. Second aim was to find differences in psychic and physical factors in the profession of nurses working in homecare and in hospital. This study is based on qualitative research using questioning through in-depth interview. Research was conducted in the beginning of February 2014. Methods of direct transcription and open coding were used for data analysis. Two questionnaires were added to the original research examining Psychic stress and Physical activity according to Baecke, evaluating the amount of psychic and physical stress at work respectively. The research group consisted of 6 nurses aged between 33-55 working for homecare agencies in the south bohemian region. Written agreements were obtained from the nurses prior to them being interviewed or be given the questionnaires. Five categories were identified from the analysed interviews: psychic stress, physical stress, handling of stress, consequences of stress and the differences found regarding psychic and physical factors observed in homecare versus hospital environments. Results obtained from the questionnaire estimating Psychic stress show average value at 3.5 which can be regarded as borderline between decreased and increased risk. The analysis of Physical stress questionnaire gave the average of 3.1 corresponding to medium load. Regarding the first aim of this work the results of the questionnaires and interview are showing greater psychic stress felt by the nurses in homecare environment as compared to physical load. The second aim comparing homecare and hospital environments shows less psychic than physical stress in homecare than in hospital environments. Practical output of this bachelor thesis will be a written recommendation for nurses working in homecare aimed toward improvement of their psychic and physical health in connection to their working experience.

Cenozoické vulkanické série v západní části Českého masívu
Ulrych, Jaromír ; Novák, Jiří Karel ; Lloyd, F. E. ; Balogh, K. ; Hegner, E. ; Viereck-Götte, L. G.
The western part of the Ohře/Eger Rift is a geodynamically active area in the Alpine foreland. Associated Cenozoic alkaline volcanism, particularly that of Quaternary age, plays an important role in the seismic active region of the W Bohemia and Saxony and is accompanied by intensive manifestations of mantle degassing (CO2, He, N). Three Tertiary to Quaternary alkaline volcanic rock series were recognised there: 1. Early Oligocene to Early Miocene (31-20 Ma) in the Doupovské hory Mts. and western Ohře Riftu. 2. Middle to Late Miocene (16-8 Ma) associated with the Cheb-Domažlice Graben. 3. Pleistocene (0.43-0.26/0.11 Ma) associated with the Ohře Rift and Cheb-Domažlice Graben junction. On the basis of isotopic and geochemical data of the primitive mafic volcanics of all series the source of magmas is a sublithospheric HIMU mantle source.

Regional population projections
DVOŘÁKOVÁ, Aneta
This thesis deals with the regional population projections. The theoretical part is divided into several chapters, which describe and explain the basic concepts, such as demographics, birth rate, death rate and more. There are also analyzed the actual projection methods and specifying formulas. Last but not least consulted on the population projection of the Czech Republic in 2050 and the most recent projections up to the year 2100th. Own part is about the screening for districts in South Bohemian region. Projections were prepared for districts: Ceske Budejovice, Cesky Krumlov, Jindrichuv Hradec, Prachatice, Pisek, Strakonice and Tabor. As evaluation indicators were elected, population, life expectancy, total fertility rate and the secondary sex ratio or even sex ratio. Projections for population and life expectancy has been created specially for men and women.

The development of the crime on credits in the South Bohemia before 2014
BUŠKOVÁ, Tereza
The aim of this study is to analyze the development of committing a credit fraud offence under § 211 of the Act. no. 40/2009 Coll., the Penal Code (particularly the development of this crime and the development of the amount of the damage) and consequent comparing the selected macroeconomic indicators development in the period 2005-2014 in the region of South Bohemia. In this work secondary data analysis methods were used. Statistical data obtained from the South Bohemian branch of the Czech Statistical Office and statistical data from Crime Police of the Czech Republic was used as the source. The data evaluating the amount of detected cases of this crime committed by the offenders in the Region South Bohemia, according to the region where the fraud was commited, was analyzed. The analyzed file was 5,713 offenses and 4,219 offenders. The defined set was divided into seven parts (districts), according to the local jurisdiction of the territorial departments of the Czech Police. The observed data was compared with selected macroeconomic indicators. From the results it can be concluded that the highest rate of loan fraud offence (calculated per 1,000 inhabitants) is in the district Stra-konice. Conversely, the lowest crime in the same period is in the district Jindřichův Hradec. This work also re-vealed that the development of macroeconomic indicators has no effect on the development of this crime. In conclusion, it is recommended to promote economic education at primary and secondary schools, thus improving the financial literacy of the population. Furthermore, we can recommend the consistent use of, the Central Credit Register, which is already available, as well as supporting of changes in the legislation, so that the providers have an obligation to investigate the credit applicants more and make the offenders of this crime discouraged by higher penalties imposed for credit fraud.

Dylan Thomas as a love poet
Mečířová, Eliška ; Armand, Louis (referee) ; Quinn, Justin (advisor)
The aim of the following BA thesis is to discuss and analyse the poetry of Dylan Thomas as love poetry. Thomas's relatively short literary career ended prematurely and the reception of his work was inconsistent from the very beginning. Some praised him as one of the best English poets and others condemned his poetry as empty rambling. Thomas led the life of a prototypical Bohemian poet and in his speech in Rome in 1947 he proclaimed about himself: "One: I am a Welshman; two: I am a drunkard; three: I am a lover of the human race, especially of women." Thomas's poems very much reflect his attitude, his love of life; the main themes they deal with are procreation, birth and death, sensuality, love and religion. Only a few of Thomas's poems do not contain the word "love", yet the range and the meanings of love are multiple in his work. Thomas includes the notion of love in all of his collections. His love for Wales and human race in general merges with his love for women and also for men, his love of God as well as the senses is reflected in his poetry.

Fire safety in households and possibilities of its enhancement
LEVÁ, Michaela
I have chosen the topic for my bachelor thesis called "Fire safety in households and possibilities of its enhancement", for several reasons. Fires in households are mentioned in the news very often and statistics indicate that the greatest number of deaths are caused by just these fires. The most frequent causes of these fires are technical faults, negligence of adult people and intentional ignition. Fires caused by a technical fault or negligence are mostly caused by ignorance of the principles of fire protection. It is desirable to solve this problem and contribute by processing this bachelor thesis and subsequent promotion to get the necessary information and knowledge to the general public about this issue. Consequently the goal of this work is to propose principles to enhance fire safety in the households. The theoretical part describes the current status of fires in households using tables and graphs of statistical information, especially about the number of fires, deaths of persons and property damages during fires in households in the years 2010-2014. These figures show the seriousness of this issue. Furthermore, this section deals with the causes of fires, which are divided into categories of intentional ignition, ignition of negligence, technical faults and fires caused by natural influences. There is also an explanation of some basic concepts of fire safety. In the next section of this part, there is a description of extinguishers, autonomous detection alarms and signalization alarms and escape routes. In remainder of the theoretical part are listed some of the responsibilities of individuals, based on Act no. 133/1985 Coll., about fire protection, as subsequently amended, and selected fire risk. The theoretical part of this work is designed as a literature review to give reader an opportunity to get some information about current status of household fires, basic concepts of fire protection, fire safety devices and fire protection instruments, obligations of individuals in the area of fire protection and some knowledge of fire risk. The following part of this thesis is a survey described in methods where the approach of data collection is defined. The method of investigation and data collection was realized through structured questionaires for public. These examined the level of fire protection in households in particular districts. Questions concerned basics on fire security and were indeed perquisite for the research. The respondents were chosen based on a stratified selection where 5 villages in South Bohemian region were chosen: Dívčice, Protivín, Tálín, Štěkeň, Radomyšl. Overall 90 filled questionaires were collected by personal questioning with a strait contact of the interviewer and respondent in those villages. The results are shown in graphs where the percentage of correct and false answers in each question is provided. After this research with collected results a low level of fire security in households can be declared. Therefore some precautions were designed so called Principles Suggestion which should raise this level. It came out of those questions with the lowest number of correct answers. The survey shows that better treatment and following of the essential principles while using flammable liquids, gas and electronic devices and fire extinguishers are the fundamental concerns of increasing of fire security. Those are listed downward according to their frequency in questioners and were introduced in a manner for easy understanding so that fire security concerns knowledge can actually increase in households. The outcome of this research should help with increasing of fire security awareness in households and will therefore be provided to HZS ČR, SH ČMS and municipalities.

Geology of Golden mountains
Buryánková, Radka ; Andreska, Jan (referee) ; Teodoridis, Vasilis (advisor)
This bachelor work is summary of the available geology and mineralogy information on geology and mineralogy of Golden mountains area. Rychleby Mountains are situated in the north of Moravia and Silesia. The mountain belongs to the Lusatian (lugikum) and the Silesian region (moravosilesikum) from the regional geological division of the Bohemian Massif. There isn't uniform view at a more detailed breakdown of the studied area (see e. g. Pouba 1962; Kachlík 2003). However representation of rocks of different age and character in all sub-units Golden Mountains are very varied. Highly metamorphosed rocks of Proterozoic age are among the most common rocks of this area. Dating all the rocks in whole region is problematic due to the high degree of metamorphism and the absence of fossils. From the mineralogical point of view is best explored Silesian part of Golden Mountains with the remains of a large number of mines and quarries in the crystalline limestone, deposits of iron ore, graphite and uranium.

Geochemistry and geochronology of mafic intrusions in the northern part of the Carlsbad pluton
Holečková, Pavla
ii SUMMARY In the NW part of Bohemian massif occur small bodies of mafic intrusive rocks. These rocks are called redwitzites and they include various rock types from diorites to quartz gabbros. They are always close to granites OIC (old intrusive complex). They are probably precursors of Late Variscan granitoid magmatism. Small body of redwitzites is situated near Abertamy (7 km NW of Jáchymov) in the western part of Krušné hory Mts. This body is inhomogeneous; it is formed by two types of mafic rocks. Both rocks distinguish in mineralogy and chemistry. First type, biotitic gabronorite, forms the western part of the body, another type, biotitic - hornblende quartz gabrodiorite, forms the NE part. The expressive sign of Abertamy redwitzites are flakes of brown biotite which can be as large as 2 cm. They are often poikilitic. Gabronorite is a fine-grained green-grey rock consisting of orthopyroxene, biotite, feldspar, quartz and hornblende. Most of the mafic minerals are altered to uralite. Accessories are represented by apatite, zircon, monazite, allanite and sphene. From the chemical point of view is gabronorite enriched in compatible elements (Mn, Fe, Mg, Ni, Cr, Sc, V, Ca, Co, Zn, Cu). Gabrodiorite is medium-grained rock and it is collored light gray. Its composition is similar to the gabronorite. It does...
