Usage of manager´s time in public administration

The aim of this diploma thesis was to assess the use of manager´s time and to suggest changes that would lead to make their work more efficient. It focuses on managers working in the public sphere. Following offices were chosen to take part in the research: Revenue Authority for South Bohemian Region - Territorial Departement in České Budějovice and Regional Authority of South Bohemian Region. The main topic of this work is time management which is extremely important nowadays. Twenty managers were asked to take part in the research, ten from each office. Questionnaire survey was the basic tool used to collect information about their time management. They were also interviewed afterwards to specify some information from the questionnaires more deeply. It was discovered that most of the respondents have no experience with the time management in general. The lack of such experience brings many problems of course and the managers fight with the difficulties of time planning very often. On the basis of those facts, some changes were proposed, that could lead to more efficient work.
Time management of women entrepreneurs

This Master's Thesis deals with attitude of women entrepreneurs to manage their time in relation to the balance between work and personal life. The main goal is to determine how women manage to fulfill different roles (entrepreneur, mother, wife, friend, etc.) and what rules or procedures they use to align all of these roles in terms of time. The theoretical part characterize the role of women in today's society, describe the definition of work-life balance and time management. Methodological part defines the list of criteria according to which I choose a suitable entrepreneurs for my research and also describes research methods for evaluating the data. The practical part examines a sample of 21 entrepreneurs from various specialization and interprets the results. At the end of thesis there are recommendations about time management obtained from the research and from the practice of female respondents.
Description and evaluation of selected managerial functions

The aim of this work is to describe and evaluate selected management functions for the position of mid-level manager or design changes. This thesis deals with four managerial functions - planning, organizing, communication and control. The selection went from the concept of managerial functions by Fayol, communication was chosen according to Drucker. These features allow the selected company to obtain relevant information. Based on observations, tests MBTI and way of thinking, and shadowing managers in mid-level description was made of selected management functions and its time management. Then possible changes were proposed.
Time management pro manažery

Time management can be defined as "the act or process of planning and exercising conscious control over the amount of time spent on specific activities, especially increase the effectiveness, efficiency or productivity". The objective of this bachelor thesis is to analyze the concepts and tools of time management at manager work, demonstrating the use of time management on the example of two selected managers comparing the obtained results with theoretical issues and formulate recommendations for the correct organization of managers' time. The bachelor thesis is divided into theoretical and practical parts. The theoretical part summarizes the latest principles and procedures of effective time management, is handled through a number of publications both Czech and foreign authors. For the purposes of practical part the questionnaire was prepared for two selected managers, based on the answers which were prepared by the principles of effective time management.

Usage of time management tools in practice

The aim of this thesis is to analyze the available time management tools to evaluate the market and that are used in practice and most popular. The first part describes the existing principles of time and perception of time in terms of individuals and groups. A separate subsection is devoted to defining the concept of time management and description of the generations of time management. The second part is no longer specifically mentioned time management tools available on the Czech market. They are divided into two categories, and the devices used to control the time and the methods and principles of time management. The third part focuses on the evaluation questionnaires, which aimed to determine the use and popularity of time management tools. Specific findings and evaluation are summarized in the final part of the work.
Modern society and working time

Last decade of society development brought numerous essential changes, which are reflected in the forming of working time. This work tries to give comprehensive view on the progress of working time forming and development (its division and separation, working hours length variation) with the emphasis on unconventional (flexible) methods of working time planning and their usage in contemporary society, that is now more often and required. In final chapter there is brought closer the development of legislative conception of working time in Czechoslovak and Czech legislation.
Time management skills of VŠE students

This thesis deals with time management skills and organization of time of VŠE students. Its aim is to cover 4 subsequent questions: How, in reality, do students use their time? How do students feel that they are using their time? Which time management methods do they utilize? What is their opinion regarding time management? The theoretical part firstly describes the development trends of the current era. Then, time management and its tasks are put into the context of this era. Subsequently, a detailed history of time management and the role of goal setting are explained. In the empirical part, activity logs of 7 respondents are analyzed.
The Creativity of Selfmanagement

The purpose of this Thesis is to show ways of the selfmanagement and to include them into daily life. Using several publications I suggest possibilities of personal progress and its benefit for our life. I research the awareness about the selfmanagement and its principles. I lead the respondents to deeper thinking about their life attitude and self-respect. It is focused on purpose of living, life goals and principles, time management, self-control, a creativity and alternative ways to personal progress. I would like to explain connections between personal and working life. Well-balanced and creative person, who is cultivating himself, has better potencial for satisfied working life. The process of writing Master's Thesis was enriching and I hope it was also an inspiration for the respondents. I find it very important to focuse not only on outside world, but first of all on inside world. I wish the selfmanagement would come closer to more people and help them to build a happy life.
