Category of the Choice in terms of the Category of the Author and the Genesis Phase of the Literary Process
Kroulíková, Lucie ; Bílek, Petr (advisor) ; Hrbata, Zdeněk (referee)
The aim of the thesis is to demonstrate the importance of the category of choice in the literary process which has not been described systematically yet. The thesis explores the occurrence of the category of choice in all aspects of textual genesis, focusing on the author as the producer of the choice and investigating to what extent his choice influences the final form of the literary work. From the point of view of the principle of selection, the thesis deals with the choice in the actual world and its subsequent verbal representation implemented by the choice of specific literary processes and language means. The category is discussed in the broader context of its interdisciplinarity, with emphasis on both the conscious and unconscious nature of the category and the supra-individual determinants. In the conclusion, the thesis examines the author from the other side - as a product of the choice - and raises questions concerning the selection criteria for the constitution of the literary canon.
The Pied Piper of Marina Tsvetaeva: Genesis, Reception and Translations of Poems with Commentary
Zakiyanov, Oskar ; Hlaváček, Antonín (advisor)
Russian poet Marina Ivanovna Tsvetaeva (1892-1941) is one of the world's most prominent authors of the early 20th century. The Pied Piper (Ratcatcher) is the magnum opus of her work. The aim of my thesis was to literally translate the poem and provide a detailed commentary on the poem. Translation is designed for the future Slavonic Studies, but also for the wider public. The translation is a kind of proposal and could be used as the default text for a possible poetic translation of the poem into Czech. The intention of the commentary is to point out the relationships of the Tsvetaeva's Pied Piper and possible sources of inspiration of the texts of other authors or her own original works. The commentary also explains the concepts specific to the creation of Tsvetaeva and her characteristic individual poetic methods. The commentary, however, provide, nearly no interpretation. It is used only as a supplementary comment on individual parts in order to enable better understanding of the original text and the translation. The first chapters deal with the history of the poem, its genesis, and reception by critics and writers. Followed by technical notes to the translated text, where a reader would find an explanation of the peculiarities of the original text, including syntactic difficulties, which are the clues...
Study of the influence of limestone firing process on the final properties of hydrated lime
Sklenářová, Dorothea ; Bureš,, Jaroslav (referee) ; Dvořák, Karel (advisor)
The thesis is a part of grant assignment and focuses on the effect of input materials and their burning on the properties of resulting products, i.e. lime and slaked lime. The aim of the thesis is to find out how the behaviour and properties of lime and slaked lime are influenced by chemical composition of limestone, their petrography, genesis and diagenesis, microstructure and porosity. The subject of the experimental part of the thesis is the evaluation of analysis carried out on burned lime and slaked lime samples. Lime samples are examined in terms of their reactivity and porosity, whereas slaked lime samples in terms of their specific surface and sedimentation volume.
Forms of Old Testament´s story about Josef
PĚCHOVÁ, Kateřina
The dissertation is focused on comparison of Josef´s stories. The starting-point of the dissertation will be the chapters from the Old Testament Book of Genesis dealing with Josef´s fate. As the background of this text will be interpreted the medieval apocryphal short stories Josef´s Life and Aseneth whose analysis will be the heart of the matter of the dissertation. It might be taken into consideration of the Josef´s story in Koran and the Josef and his Brothers novel written by Thomas Mann. Selected texts will be interpreted according to the time of its origin and the cultural background of the era.The emphasis will be put on the place of apocrypha in the Old Testament literature and the literature of Karel´s era. The relations of the Old Testament and Koran will also be discussed.
The study of the effect of burning process on the properties of lime
Urban, Karel ; Bureš,, Jaroslav (referee) ; Dvořák, Karel (advisor)
At the institute of technology of building materials and components at the fakulty of civil engineering in Brno was initiated research deal with study of the effect of limestone on the progress of decarbonization. This work is an introductory study into this problems. It focuses on describing the genesis and diagenesis of limestones, their crystallography, texture and requirements for burning. Further describes the extraction and treatment of limestones before burning. In very burning is focused on its mechanism and the used furnace systems. In the experimental part is focused on the analysis of samples of limestones of various world sites in terms of petrology, geological origin, chemical composition, the content of insoluble residues, density and porosity, and analysis of formed limes, burned at 900 °C in terms of density, CO2 content and crystal size.
Collective Responsibility in the Book of Genesis
PLEVOVÁ, Zuzana
This work deals with situations in the Book of Genesis, where the collective responsibility was used and the purpose what it was used for. First of all, the basic concepts of collective responsibility, guilt and forgiveness are defined. After that the work includes analysis of texts from the Book of Genesis 12:10-20; 18:16-33; 20:1-18; 26:1-11; 34:1-31. In the last section these texts are discussed from the perspective of collective responsibility. The key question: In what situations in Genesis is collective responsibility used? The analysis of individual texts showed that collective responsibility in Genesis is associated with punishment or warning. Collective responsibility showed the direction, which had to be followed by the chosen people to go to God, and warned before departing from this path and distancing from God.
Influence of land use on runoff components
CIML, Jiří
The constant movement of water is known as the hydrological cycle. The main power of this gigantic, phenomenal and continuous cycle is solar energy. Its effect is the evaporation of water from the ground. The dominant role is played by the oceans again as their surface evaporates five as much water as the land surface. After a short delay, most of the evaporated water returns into the ocean in the form of precipitation. This cycle is called the small hydrological cycle. The main components of the hydrological balance in relation to the amount of precipitation fallen as follows: Evaporation, soil moisture and groundwater sources (71.2%) Surface runoff (28.8%) Surface water As defined by Surface water law No. 254/2001, surface water is water naturally occurring in the Earth's surface. It does not lose this characteristics if they flow through temporarily covered stretches, natural cavities in the ground or in the overhead lines. Subsurface water Subsurface water, as a part of the hydrosphere which is below ground, is essential for plant life and is the main source of drinking water. They are used for the purposes of healthcare, industry, agriculture, etc. The occurrence of subsurface water, its movement and quality are contingent on the environment in which they are located. They arise mainly from infiltration of surface water below the surface and classified according to various criteria. The most frequently in accordance with - state, origin, mobility, bonding, depth of occurrence, etc. Groundwater As defined by Groundwater law No. 254/2001, groundwaters are water naturally occurring under the surface in the saturation zone and in direct contact with rocks. The water flowing through drainage systems and water wells is also considered groundwater. Runoff The hydrological concept tells us how much water is drained over a specified period of our catchment area. Factors that tell us that there will be a runoff are soil saturation and soil surface saturation due to an increased precipitation. It can also be a snow blanket with which the snow mass and composition (water content) would play their role. Runoff components Runoff is part of the hydrological balance and is divided into several components. 1. Overland flow 2. Subsurface flow 3. Groundwater flow Overland flow It is largest in deforested and urbanized areas. Subsurface flow It is largest in karst areas and naturally forested watersheds. Groundwater flow It is largest in naturally forested areas and steep watersheds. Genesis 1. Direct flow 2. Base flow Factors affecting runoff: Relief: appearance, slope, topography and terrain, orientation, exposure Physical geographical conditions: drainage basin area, basin shape Geological and hydrological conditions: porosity, subsoil Pedological properties: soil conditions, physical properties Land cover (Vegetation cover) Climate: precipitation, extreme precipitation, infiltration of rainwater Methods of separation: Kliner - Kněžek method Analysis of subsidence branches Digital filters Separation according to radioactivity CN Curve Land use: Arable land (Agriculture land) Pasture, meadow, grassland (TTP) Forests Urban, road network
Shifts in Perception of Melchizedeks Figure in the Old Testament, Intertestamental Literature and the New Testament
POSPÍŠIL, Petr
This work concerns the shifts in the perception of the figure of Melchizedek in the Old Testament, Intertestamental sources and the New Testament. It explicates three central biblical texts which are speaking about Melchizedek. These texts are: the book of Genesis 14, Psalm 110 and the Epistle to the Hebrews. The work also aims to notice perceiving Melchizedek{\crq}s figure in non-biblical sources, like Qumran texts, Targums, apocryphs or the testimonies of church fathers. The findings coming from these sources are compared together in the conclusion of the work. Each of traditions is different, so we can not make unambiguous conclusion about figure of Melchizedek. Some non-biblical Melchizedekian traditions still continue, some others have disappeared entirely.
Genesis of the family according to post-modern society
VILÍMOVÁ, Jana
The main pillar of the family has become the couple's relationship: to satisfy individual needs and allow the possibility for self-realisation, for men and women alike. This gender position has become relevant with its influence on the whole society. Post-modern society has offered people more individual freedom and choice. The average age of groom increased from 24.6 to 28.9 and the bride from 21.8 to 26.5. In the town of Mirošovice during the period of 1974 - 1989 the average age of bride was 21.64 (period of 1990 {--} 2005 was 25.89) and groom 24.55 (period of 1990 {--} 2005 is 29.29). This confirms the assumption of hypothesis H1: Age of engaged couple entering marriage in the period of 1990 {--} 2005 is higher than in the period of 1974 {--} 1989. The aim of this dissertation is to map out the situation during the period of 1990 - 2005 and its comparison with previous years (likewise for a 15 year period, from 1974 - 1989). I have chosen a quantitative type of research and analysis of actual realities - primary and secondary data analysis, taken from the noted data files of permanent inhabitants from the town of Mirošovice. In the observed file (127 couples) there are married couples included, who have permanent addresses in Mirošovice, and whose marriages have lasted up until the 31. 12. 2005. Since the 1990s, the age difference between husband and wife has increased. There was also a rise in the number of couples where the woman was older than the man. In Mirošovice the total average age difference between engaged couples (not considering the gender of the older partner) during the period 1974 {--} 1989 was 4.49 years and during the period 1990 {--} 2005 was 3.92 years. Thus hypothesis H2 is confirmed: Age difference between partners who were married after 1990 (during the period 1990 - 2005) is less than the period 1974 {--} 1989. Also hypothesis H3: Age difference (more than 5 years) of engaged couples does not have any direct relation to the age difference of their parents, has been proved. Hypothesis H4: Age difference of engaged couples where the older partner is a woman, having direct relation to the age difference of bride or groom's parents, where the mother was older than father, has not been proved. The individualisation characterising current changes in the family bring with them, mainly to the most elderly lonely women, but also men, many social, economical, health and psychological problems.
