Notions Subject and Object, Soul and Body and their Relationship in Descates' Meditations on First Philosophy

The aim of the study is to analyse, on the basis of Descartes's Meditations on First Philosophy, the scope of the terms "soul" and "body" and to derive what meaning may be in the light of them given to the modern terms "subject" and "object." The primary question is what the respective essences of res cogitans and res extensa consist in. To achieve this goal, the study interprets relevant passages from Descartes' work and highlights its standpoints and the main ontological decisions Descartes makes. The point of this questioning is to understand his novel conception of the relation between man and the world that became determining for the modern era. Later philosophers up to this day have often considered Descartes' dualism between soul and body as a philosophical concept that should be abandoned. The aim of the work is therefore to understand what negatives result from this concept.

The task of the author of this thesis is to propose a design of rocking chair, which will be conditioned by the rules of a healthy active sitting and will allow changes of positions and versatility of use for different types of activities. The thesis is divided into two parts. The first, theoretical part deals with the design, sitting and its impact on the human body, ergonomics, dynamic sitting, rocking and its history, and finally literature searches of competing products. The second part is practical and is dedicated to the design itself. This process consists sketching, a subsequent 3D modelling and creation of models. That leads to the production of the rocking chair in 1:1 scale.

Using horses for police work and their training

The Bachelor dissertation deals with the training and structure of police horses used in division of mounted police in Prague. It also dedicates to the legislative differences between the state and the city-town mounted police and also with an existence of this police in other countries in Europe. The main aim according to these facts was to make a well arranged material about the choice, training and using horses for police purpose. Then to map the actual state of horses used by mounted police in Prague. At the end to complete their structure of the basic measure and evaluate these indicators. The evaluation was made according to the measurement using the basic statistical characteristic. As police horses in Czech republic are chosen horses with bigger size (frame) and mostly with brown colour. Dividing them into the different areas of use is done according to the training results, which are verified in individual disciplines during examination. In this observing group was found the average body size 173, 183, 207 and 22 centimetres.

Condition dependence of secondary ornamentation and mate choice in Grey Partridges

This study focuses on relationships between individual condition, measures of ornament expression and mate choice in the Grey Partridge (Perdix perdix). It is based on the correlative data as well as results of manipulative experiments. I found positive correlation between the size of melanin- and carotenoid-based ornaments in partridges. The size and the redness of the carotenoid skin patch, and the size of the melanin-based feather ornamentation were associated with several measures of immunity and overall body condition (complement activity, ratio of immature erythrocytes, heterophil/leucocyte ratio, response to novel antigen). Furthermore, data from natural populations indicate that the expression of carotenoid-based ornamentation is associated with sexual attractiveness (measured as the ability to obtain a social mate) in partridges. Data from captive individuals indicate that carotenoid supplementation improves the redness of carotenoid-based ornament, while the stimulation of the immune system under increasing concentrations of supplemented carotenoids has no measurable effect on condition and physiological state. The quality of the external audit and the influence of the selection of an auditor on audit quality

The thesis deals with audit quality and auditor selection. These can indeed have a significant effect on audit quality. The introductory chapters of the thesis describe a quality in general form. It offers a basic characteristic of audit and auditor. It is deal with a legislative framework, necessary standards and another regulation of audit quality. Subsequently, it explains control system of audit quality in the Czech Republic and it describes watchdog bodies in the Czech Republic. After that the publication of Federation of European Accountants (FEE) from 2013 is analysed and criteria are presented. These criteria proceed from survey of FEE and determine the auditor selection. In conclusion it deals with application of discovered information on the individual practical examples of application for execution of audit or other audit services. This achieved information is used to create a sample form. This sample form of application for execution of audit could serve to improve of audit quality in the first stage of auditor selection. The ISO standards, book of Audit and the FEE publication are the main information source for the thesis.

The Concept of pension reform accourding to the practice of surrounding countries

Diplomová práce dle zkušeností vybraných zemí naznačuje hlavní body, na které by se měla zaměřit penzijní reforma v ČR a zároveň vyzdvihuje pozitivní stránky a upozorňuje na problémy důchodových systémů států, jenž jsem si zvolila. Vybrala jsem si důchodový systém čtyř zemí, jmenovitě důchodový systém Polska, Maďarska, Slovenska a Švýcarska. Hlavním důvodem výběru bylo geografické hledisko, dále skutečnost, že všechny země již uskutečnily penzijní reformu a u Švýcarka navíc fakt, že jeho důchodové pojištění je označováno jako ideální prototyp.

Médiá a propaganda

Diplomová práca sa venuje problematike propagandy, úlohe a postaveniu médií v propagandistických kampaniach, najskôr obecne, neskôr so zameraním sa na jednotlivé typy masmédií a zmeny ich roly v propagandistických kampaniach. DP obsahuje historický vývoj propagandy a nezastupiteľnej roly médií v nej, upozorňuje na faktory, ktoré síce nepredstavujú propagandu v pravom slova zmysle, avšak rovnako ako propaganda narúšajú objektívnosť mediálneho zdelenia, ako aj obsiahly súpis uvedomelých a cielených propagandistických metód a techník, využívaných k presadzovaniu propagandistických cieľov. Druhá časť DP sa venuje procesom zmien postavenia a úlohy jednotlivých typov médií a na konkrétnych príkladoch poukazuje na zlomové body v histórii toho ktorého masmediálneho prostriedku, so zameraním sa na oblasť vojnovej propagandy a zmeny roly médií v nej.

Práce shrnuje problematiku digitálního videa na WEBu a nastiňuje možnosti využití videa, jako velice účinného způsobu přenosu informací po internetu. Dále práce identifikuje způsoby využití digitálního videa v praxi a pro jednotlivé způsoby použití stanovuje doporučení týkající se konkrétních charakteristik digitálního videa. Vyjadřuje se také k budoucím trendům v oblasti digitálního videa na WEBu. Pro porozumění závěrečných kapitol jsou nejdříve rozebrány obecné principy digitálního videa. Proto se v první části práce zaměřuje na digitální video obecně a s ním spojené pojmy. Poté jsou rozebírány způsoby získávání záznamů pro internetové použití. Následuje souhrn možných využití videa na webu. V další části jsou rozebrány nejpoužívanější formáty a s nimi spojené používané algoritmy komprese. Celá jedna kapitola je věnovaná problematice řízení digitálních práv ? DRM. Poté se podíváme na platformy pro běžné přehrávání po internetu využívající streaming videa, jakožto velice perspektivní technologie. Následně jsou zmíněny některé aspekty distribuce digitálního videa a je analyzován stav internetových videopůjčoven v ČR. Práce dále identifikuje požadavky jednotlivých způsobů použití a je navrženo řešení se zohledněním celé problematiky, tzn. jaký formát a jaké nastavení na které platformě použít. V závěru je zhodnocena celá problematika a shrnuty stěžejní body práce. Nakonec jsou identifikovány trendy v oblasti digitálního videa a je předpovězen vývoj dané problematiky.

Athanasius Kircher (1602-1680) and his Influence on the Natural Philosophy in the Czech Lands

Resumé: The dissertation deals with various layers of influence that Athanasius Kircher and his work had on the development of natural philosophy in the Czech lands around the half of the seventeenth century. It is possible to observe one such layer of this influence in his correspondence with the Czech lands, which often had patronage seeking character but was also a source of natural philosophic knowledge, observations and interests. Besides the correspondence influence, a diachronic influence and changing evaluation of Athnasius Kircher's work in the course of time is explored in one chapter. Another chapter introduces his own autobiography, which provides evidence of Kircher's conscious effort to shape the opinion of his person and his work to be made by his contemporaries and next generation of scholars. The last layer of influence being in focus of this work regards the influence of ideas based on an analogy between the movement of sea waters and movement of fluids in human body. Kircher's ideas on geocosmos expressed in his Mundus subterraneus (1664-1665) and Iter extaticum II (1657) are compared with the work of his correspondent, physician from Wroclaw and editor of the first medicine journal, Philipp Jacob Sachs von Löwenheim's Oceanus macro-microcosmicus (1664).
