Diversity and microcystins content of cyanobacteria in fish ponds (South Moravia, Czech Republic) related to fishery management intensity
Kopp, Radovan ; Ziková, Andrea ; Adamovský, Ondřej ; Brabec, T. ; Straková, L. ; Mareš, J.
During the vegetative period of the years 2005-2007 (June--October) we carried out hydrobiological and hydrochemical monitoring of selected ponds inhered in Southern Moravia in relation to different fishery management intensities. Water temperature, dissolved oxygen content, pH, conductivity and water transparency were monitored directly at taking place, N--NH4+, N--NO2-, N--NO3-, P--PO43- content and chlorophyll-a concentration were measured in hydrochemical laboratory.
Genetic methods for determination of the cyanotixin producers
Jezberová, Jitka ; Bernardová, Kateřina
This work summarises and introduces modern methods of molecular biology, which are frequently used to both cyanobacterial identification and detection of cyanotoxin production.
Symposium molekulární biologie sinic /7./
Komenda, Josef ; Flores, E. ; Nixon, P. J. ; Waleron, K. ; Maršálek, Blahoslav
The conference was devoted to the recent advances in the field of molecular biology of cyanobacteria, namely in the structure and function of important proteins and their complexes, in the regulation of gene expression, in cell differentiation, in cellular metabolism and in molecular ecology and taxonomy. There were 170 participants presenting 101 posters and 12 invited and 29 selected lectures including a computer bioinformatics session
Morphology, ecology and invasion of toxic cyanobacterium Cylindrospermopsis raciborskii
Maršálková, Eliška ; Šejnohová, Lenka ; Maršálek, Blahoslav
Description of morphology, ecology and the current occurence of potentially invasive toxic cyanobacterial species Cylindrospermopsis raciborskii. We summarized all findings in the Czech Republic.
Monitoring of bloom forming cyanobacteria - the current expansion of invasive species in the Czech Republic
Šejnohová, Lenka
As part of the monitoring of water the flowers cyanobacteria, which carries out the Institute of Botany ASCR in the Czech Republic for more than 15 years of age, we observed in the recent years, an appreciable increase in the incidence cyanophytes Cylindrospermopsis raciborskii.
Distribution and expansion of planctic cyanobacteria in Czech Republic
Komárek, Jiří ; Komárková, Jaroslava
Planktic cyanobacteria play important role in freshwater habitats in Czech Republic. They develop sometimes in massive water blooms, produce cyanotoxins and must be monitored from hydrobiological and sanitary point of views. Frequency of their occurrence and the species composition change in time and depend on managing of water ecosystems and on global changes of climate. The distribution and occurrence of various species in Czech Republic over last 60 years is reviewed.
Introduction of two systems for detection of cyanobacteria and their toxins in raw water
Gregor, Jakub ; Maršálková, Eliška ; Maršálek, Blahoslav ; Trtílek, M.
Presentation of two systems for detection of cyanobacteria (on-line flow-through fluorometer) and cyanotoxins (acute bioassay with Daphnia magna based on the feeding activity after exposition to the toxicant) in raw water at the drinking water treatment plant.
Methods of sediments treatment in reservoirs
Maršálek, Blahoslav ; Feldmanová, Marie
Summary of methods for sediment treatment in reservoirs with massive water blooms.
