The assesment of soil erosion processes by using WaTEM/ SEDEM and USPED models
Vysloužilová, Barbora ; Kliment, Zdeněk (advisor) ; Kadlec, Václav (referee)
The water erosion is considered as the most important factor having impact on the agricultural land degradation. In the past, many methodes of soil erosion processes by using mathematical models has been developped. The mostly applicated is the universal soil loss equation USLE. The USLE equation has been used as the basis for new erosion models WaTEM/ SEDEM (Van Rompaey a kol. 2001, Van Oost a kol. 2000, Verstraeten a kol. 2002) and USPED (Mitášová a kol., 1996). The two of them are applicated in the experimental catchement of Černičí. The WaTEM/ SEDEM model is able to count the river sediment export as well. The intensity of erosion processes is increasing during extraordinary rainfall - rainoff events. This diploma thesis is evaluating their causes, frequency and course from two points of view: the course of runoff and the sediment transport. The water quality is also evaluated. KEY WORDS: erosion, extraordinary rainfall - runoff event, USPED, WaTEM/ SEDEM

Nutritional support for cancer patients
Petrovová, Hana ; Těšínský, Pavel (advisor)
According to the report of the Institute of Health Information and Statistics , published in 2007 which processes the results of 2005 , the incidence of malignant neoplasms in the Czech Republic in the long term increasing incidence . The most common Malignant tumors are basal cell carcinoma , although mostly for its specificity from other classifications set aside . Of the more serious diagnoses are among the most frequent malignancy colorectal neoplasm , trachea and lung cancer in women and in men the prostate. In 2005 in the Czech Republic reported over seventy thousand malignant neoplasms and neoplasms in situ (1) . Weight loss may be as the first sign of malignant disease and may occur later in the course . frequency weighting loss and malnutrition occurs in 31-78 % of oncology patients Depending on the location, type and stage of the disease . The most commonly occurs in gastrointestinal cancer and lung cancer ( 2 ) . For some patients as a result cancer develops cachexia. Causes of weight loss in cancer patients are numerous and Currently , it is clear that far yet know all . Generally causes divided into three major groups : physiological disorders caused by abnormalities interactions tumor - host ( changes in metabolism , anorexia) and finally consequences anticancer treatments ( both chemo - Radio...

The control of weeds in maize stand (\kur{Zea mays L.})
VANĚK, Robert
Some of weeds have disappeared owing to the plant production specialization; some of them have become more resistive. Those weeds have taken significant role due to its danger and frequency of presence. The thesis is mainly focused on description of biology and morphology of weeds, possibilities of weeds spread and weed control. Methods of mechanical and chemical regulation are described based on these facts. The experiments, which were carried on maize, determined the effect of selected herbicide and its active substance on weed control. Following precautions, which were suggested, have led to successful suppression of specific significant weeds.

Commercial Relations Between the European Union and the United States of America - Development and Trade Disputes Since 1989
Bubeníček, Roman ; Škrábalová, Lenka (advisor) ; Kozák, Kryštof (referee)
Transatlantic trade and investment are intense and the two economics narrowly interlinked. Despite the rapid increase of the global trade in recent decades, transatlantic economic relations remain the dominant force in international economic relations for both the United States and the European Union, particulary if one considers not only trade but also foreign direct investment. Today American and European economies are the world's largest, and they are likely to remain so for foreseeable future. Overall bilateral commerce approaches 2.5 trillion of dollars per year and employs directly or indirectly some twelve million workers in Europe and the US (2000). With such intensive commercial relations trade disputes have arisen with some frequency whereas the range of trade conflicts is so wide that a complete accounting is difficult. During the cold war foreign economic objectives were often subordinated to security concerns. The US fathered European integration primarily to achieve political rather than economic objectives. There was a mutual accomodation of interest and the solidarity with the US due to Soviet threat. During the early post-war years the US did generally get what it wanted. However, during the 1960s and 1970s, the European Community distanced itself from the US. On the contrary, during the...

Ethical aspects of decisions made about resuscitation of patients in the terminal phase of illness in prehospital care
UHER, Lukáš
One of the three contraindications to initiation of cardiopulmonary resuscitation is a condition where the patient is in the terminal stage of the disease. (Bydžovský, 2008) The patient's terminal condition of incurable disease must be diagnosed by a doctor, not a paramedic or other health professional. (Sláma, 2009) The paramedic can (...) initiate and perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation. (Decree 55/2011 Coll., §17, letter. B) In an atmosphere where over-optimistic presentation of resuscitation protocol outcomes is growing, many people believe that it is the only orrect procedure for circulatory arrest regardless of life stage or terminal conditions. This increases the pressure put on the rescuers and doctors in pre-hospital emergency care by loved ones and family members of victims of sudden circulatory arrest. A paramedic and a doctor may respond the fear of legal challenges for failure to provide heroic care by actually begining resuscitation on patients with end-stage disease, but with less emphasis on the frequency and depth of compression of the sternum against their knowledge and beliefs. This phenomenon is called "hollywood resuscitation." (Sláma, 2009) The purpose of this thesis is to outline the ethical issues of resuscitation on patients in the terminal phase of illness as perceived by emergency workers. The research question that I deal with is, ?How do emergency medical rescue service staff access the decision to resuscitate terminally ill patients with particular regard to the expectations of family members?? The introduction introduces the reader with the nature of the paramedic profession, the importance of resuscitation and my relationship to the topic. In the theoretical part I define terms such as emergency medical service, resuscitation and its indications and contraindications, medical law and terminal condition. To get the results I used qualitative research that I realized at Emergency Medical Service South Moravian Region. I asked ten basic questions. The research group consists of two male doctors, four female doctors and seven paramedics. The interviews show that the notion of hollywood resuscitation is not known, but resuscitation at the interface of ethics and justice is experienced by all. Four paramedics rate their actions as unethical, this leaves them with the feeling of disapointment in themselves and their profession. They feel forced into this bind by the legislation. For the other three paramedics ethics at the place of the event were either do not percieve or they transfered esponsibility to the doctor by calling him. All of these doctors were fully qualified and most of them have not launched the resuscitation against their ethical beliefs. Some doctors avoid the issue by speaking with sensitivity to the family, others by solving the patient's current difficulties and they get the general information about him later. To improve this situation by contributing quality education to families in the facility where the patient is monitored for his primary diagnosis. Another solution could be specific document outlining end of life choices as desired by the patient or card on which ?Do Not Resuscitate? direction is clearly given. According to these specific documents pre-event direction is given that will direct amendment the standard procedure for emergency medical services. The rescue workers will feel greater legal certainty. This final designation document solution will increase paramedic´s competences.

Development of wireless rumen probe
Šídlová, Ludmila ; Matěj, Zdeněk (referee) ; Fedra, Zbyněk (advisor)
The aim was to study the possibilities of wireless transmission from the stomach of ruminants and to design and implement wireless ruminal probe. The first part deals with the internal wireless probe. The next section describes and evaluates available ruminal probe. There is given its own equipment design in the other chapters. The probe was designed for power management and for working with harvestable ambient power. The frequency of 125 kHz with bipolar coding was chosen for wireless data transmission. Two air coils are used on both sides as antennas. The proposed probe was designed and wireless data transmission was tested.

Vliv hazardu na kriminalitu: evidence z České Republiky
Lupač, Milan ; Dušek, Libor (advisor) ; Špecián, Petr (referee)
The focus of this thesis is to examine the relationship between gambling and crime in the Czech environment, where gambling is broadly available. Data about the individual gambling machines and tables together with the data about offenses in particular police districts were used in order to estimate the effect of gambling on crime. The final dataset observes 388 geographical units over the life span between April 2013 and December 2015. The study employs three estimation techniques the OLS, Poisson regression and Negative binomial regression to estimate the effect of gambling on crime. The main variable representing the size of gambling is the number of slot machines as these are the most broadly available type of gambling. The final estimated relationship between crime and slot machines is that one additional slot machine is associated with an increase in crime by 0.3-0.5% depending on the method and frequency. On the contrary, the effect of casino games, electromechanical roulettes, and dice devices on crime was found to be statistically insignificant. In addition, the study also analyses particular types of crimes, finding that gambling has an impact particularly on crimes that involve material benefits as opposed to the violent crimes. Moreover, it also conducts a what-if analysis demonstrating the estimated impact of reduction of gambling on the substantial drop of the number of offenses over the observed period was rather limited and account for 937 offenses.

Remote sensing can be very useful tool for drought monitoring, providing valuable information about yield-limiting moisture conditions and crop response under current climate conditions. In this study the Atmosphere-land Exchange Inverse (ALEXI) model was used. The ALEXI model uses the morning surface temperature (LST) rise and provides information on the surface moisture status. In this paper correlations between yields and satellite indicators of crop water use or evapotranspiration (ET) were studied for the period 2002-2014. Correlations were studied for winter wheat at district scale in Vysocina, Jihomoravsky and Olomoucky regions since winter wheat is one of the traditional and most important crops grown in these regions. The Evaporative Stress Index (ESI) was used for these correlations as an ET-based index. Time series of Pearson correlation coefficient (r) computed between ESI and winter wheat yields at district scale were analysed. Strongest correlations are associated with districts within the Southern Moravian lowlands in Jihomoravsky and Olomoucky region, where frequency of occurrence of severe drought was highest over the period of record. Severe drought resulted in significant yield impacts, particularly in years 2003 and 2012. Correlations tend to be lower over the highlands districts of Vysocina and surroundings. In these districts, yields are more temperature than moisture limited and were more stable over the period of record.

Antoš, Filip ; Talich, Milan ; Glöckner, M. ; Böhm, Ondřej ; Soukup, Lubomír ; Havrlant, Jan ; Závrská, M. ; Šolc, Jakub
The methodology provides guidance for determining the vertical deflection of bridge structures using radar interferometry technology. The vertical deflection of bridges are primarily caused by stress during transit of vehicles. The deflections are simultaneously measured by radar throughout the length of the monitored structure. The measurement is continuous with a high sampling frequency (200 Hz) and with high precision (0.01 mm). It is believed the use of interferometric radar IBIS-S Italian manufacturer IDS. General recommendations and conclusions are valid for every kind of radar.
