Impact of the Financial Crisis on Development Projects

The aim of the thesis is to analyse the impact of the financial crisis on the Czech real estate market with a focus on residential development projects. Another objective is to determine how the bank responded to the event through their funding conditions. In the work is mainly used method of analysis. In the practical part is used the method of comparison. The first part is devoted to the creation and development of the crisis and its spread to the whole world. Course focuses on market analysis and the very last part describes the situation of developers and financing of residential projects. The practical part deals with the comparison of two specific conditions of development loans, first approved in 2007 and the second approved in 2011. Based on the comparison of the major differences are found terms of funding. Finally, it outlines the current status and recommendations how the credit conditions by the banks could adapt to the current market environment.

The basic document here deals with the changes made by US government and their comparison with set of laws from the time of the Great Depression. This comparison results into proposal of some further changes. The last part deals with the systematic flaw of credit expansion a offers a solution based on principles of the Austrian school modified to correspond more closely with current system
Potential sources of currency and banking crises in emerging markets

The thesis examines potential sources of currency crisis, banking crisis and twin crisis in a region of Central Europe, Eastern Europe, South-Eastern Europe and Baltics. The text assumes some basic knowledge of the theories of financial crisis and, thus, ommits some relevant details in the theoretical parts. The thesis aids at fading variables, which could signal vurnerability of a country to a curency, banking and twin crisis. In the second chapter we introduce a financial crisis typology. The text also briefly shows the theoretical and empirical studies of the financial crisis and introduces definitions of currency, banking and twin crisis. In the third chapter we identify the periods of financial crisis in the given region. Then we introduce the explanatory variables. In the fourth chapter we estimate logit model to explain the conditional probability of all the three types of financial crisis. In the fifth chapter we estimate the out-of-sample conditional probability of occurring crisis. In the end we discuss the results and possible recommendation for economic policy or investors. We find that some macroeconomic variables are significant when explaining financial crisis. For all three types of financial crisis these variables were significant: Share of total foreign debt to foreign reserves, interest rate differential, excessive credit expansion (its share to GDP).
Czech derivative market analysis in comparison with the world market

The thesis is focused on financial derivatives, their types, development and practical application. The first chapter deals with the definition of derivatives and description of basic types of derivatives and exotic options. The second chapter describes the development of derivatives in Czech Republic in comparison with G10 countries. In the continuous process of derivative products innovation credit, inflation derivatives and derivatives for electricity and weather are developed. The third chapter presents the derivatives in terms of practical application in the form of option structures, which are used for hedging against the currency risk. The structures are applied to the exchange rate development during the financial crisis period and their impact on businesses is analyzed. Then the hedge efficiency of the structures is analyzed due to use of hedge accounting

This thesis describes the actual global financial crisis and its impact on the company Kordárna, a.s, which is a producer of cords for tyres. The first part explains reasons and impacts of the global financial crisis. The second part is focused on a financial analysis of the company. The third part is connecting both previous parts, analyses consequences of the crisis on the company and its further problems, and shows how to solve its difficulties through the reorganization.

Thesis is also emphasized to comparison of unitary segments and following riskiness. The main part of the thesis is impact of financial crises on hedge funds. There is analysed a situation before crisis and also after crisis. The following topic is implementation of new regulations and its potencial benefit for this segment. In the end of the thesis is written subjective evaluation, if the regulation of this segment of market is benefical and what could be expected in the future.
The causes of the housing and financial crisis in the USA

This study is focused on the causes of financial crises in the United States of America starting in 2007. There is mentioned a number of influences that had impact on this disfavourable economic development in this study. In the first part, there is mentioned the housing policy and government measures in providing mortgages. Further, there is explained the development of the banking system -- with the Federal Reserve System on one hand and commercial banks on the other. Their parts in this crises are explained in the second chapter, alongside with modern trends on financial markets. One of those trends was occurrence of new kinds of securities -- eg. CDO which is characterized. Rating agencies were also subjects which business behavior was one of the causes of this crises burst. In this study there is also captured simple line-out of events on the interbank market, when the crises became obvious. Last part is dedicated to comparison with other crisis of the modern history, especially the Great Depression.

This bachelor work is concerned with a broad issue of financial crisis. In the first instance it analyzes the causes of currency crises, describes their exteriorities, development and the most frequent impacts to afflicted economies on the theoretic level. The basic types of financial crises and their trends are defined. The next part of this work characterizes the International Monetary Fund and the Federal Reserve System -- the institutions playing an important role in the worldwide economic system. The third part illustrates the anatomy of the Mexican debt crisis of 1994--1995, and also the currency crisis in South and South-East Asia (1997--1998) with respect to the role of IMF. Finally, the Argentinian crisis (2001--2002) is dealt with. The next chapter explores the causes of the American mortgage crisis, its exteriorities, development and the following worldwide consequences. This work also remembers the Czech bank crisis and implies the connections between the current crisis and the Czech economic situation. The work concludes with a chapter pointing out the difficulties in financial crises prediction, and analyzing the possible precautionary measures.

This final thesis focuses on issues of currency and financial crises. It observes the main theoretical models of currency crises and their application to the currency crises of the nearest history and evaluates the causes and circumstances which, under certain conditions, lead to the occurrence of crises in the currency field. The thesis deals with the problematics, concerning funtioning of international institutions in the process of maintaining the stability of currency regres worldwide. The work examines the causes of global financial meltdown of 2008 and depicts the condition of U.S. financial markets.
