Research deals with the religious sentiments of the population of Bohemia, Moravia and Silesia. The questions deal with personal piety, the Christian doctrinal issues, opinions on the moral quality of the faithful and on religion teaching in school, and not least on tolerance.

Tolerance to Different Social Groups

In March 2010 Public Opinion Research Centre focused on social distance among the major population and different social groups. Social distance was measured by a specific question: people should pick from a list of 15 different groups those, which they would not like to have as neighbours. The biggest distance was noticed towards drug addicts (86 % of Czechs would not want them to be their neighbours), people addicted to alcohol (79%), people with criminal past (75%) and also people with mental disease (60%). Another question was focused on opinion about the society, that means whether people think the Czech society is tolerant or intolerant to the same groups of people.

In March survey CVVM used some questions investigating tolerance of Czech people toward some groups of people. Czechs were shown a list with 14 various groups of people and they were asked to say, whether they would want these people to be their neighbours.

Tolerance was established independently on microflora present resulting decreased level of IgE and changed cytokine production

In October survey 2005 there were included some questions about public attitude to homosexual people. Same question were used in Poland, Slovakia and Hungaria with CEORG group setting.Respondents also talked about their opinion on weddings or registered partnership of homosexuals.

The paper deals with reflection of relation among people in Czech public opinion. Great tolerance prevails towards religious people, young people and invalids. Romanies, alcoholics, users of drugs and people with criminal past create at least acceptable group. In long term tolerance increase, excepted Romanies. CR is placed in 14 position from 23 European countries from point of view tolerance.
