The aim of the bachelor thesis is to reconstruct and design space into a pub for specific group of clients. Space focuses on associating both people from motorsport and fans. The main purpose is to create a thematic space, where clients could share their experiences, opportunities, or organize meetings, autograph session or training. The first part of thesis focuses on theoretical information and understanding the issue, which is lately used for practical part. Practical part focuses on the floor plan design and its visualization. Part of the thesis is also draft and design of atypical dining table. The draft includes construction drawing, sketches and visualizations as well.

This bachelor thesis concerns on 'the practice of being a pub regular' ("štamgastenství") as a particular cultural phenomenon and its role in contemporary pub culture. It summarises the evolution of pubs in the Czech context and explains a symbolical meaning of the place of pub in the construction of a Czech national identity. The thesis looks at pub as a public space from the perspective of the concept of the third place of an American urban sociologist Ray Oldenburg according to which for one's healthy functioning in society it is important to have got, beside of a home and a workplace, also the third place, a neutral ground, where one can experience informal public life. As claimed by this approach, the existence of the third places is crucial for an establishment of local community and cultivation of civil society. This thesis focuses on pub regulars as the group that makes the third place in the form of a pub alive and keeps it as such. The practical part of the thesis engages in a qualitative research using a method of ethnography on two selected Prague pubs in order to find out whether there is still a space for 'the practice of being a pub regular' in contemporary pub culture and how the individual pubs deal with it. This diploma thesis presents processing of the design documentation for public service building. The scope of this work is in accordance with ordinance 499/2006 and latter amended 62/2013. There is a small brewery in the building, as well as a pub, tourist apartments and the owner's flat. Building is situated in Vranová, Blansko district. It is a three-story building without basement, roofed with flat and mono-pitched roofs. The ground floor consists of a pub, a brewery and a communication wing dividing the building in the middle. The second floor consists of hostel type tourist apartments with shared facilities. The third floor belongs exclusively to the owner of the building who has an apartment there. The building is bricked, complemented by an external thermal insulation composite system (ETICS). Floor structure consists of SPIROLL panels. Design documentation was developed in AutoCAD software.

"Pub behavior" of college students: specific rituals of visits and selection

Topic of the bachelor's thesis is meaning of pubs as a ritual activity for crating social identity of small groups of college students visiting the pub regularly. Thesis is trying to find out rules of creating integrity of groups in pub environment as traditional social institution. Work is based on social identification theory. General inductive approach was used for analysis on data gathered by half-structured interviews with young people, largely college students, who belongs to stable groups visiting a pub. The result was the pub seen as a place universally capable of group integration. Its meaning is distinguished for two types of groups. Differences are made by different ways of creating groups and their common characteristics. Two types are distinguished based on their voluntary and unvoluntary common group characteristics. Differences of groups are also in openness, conflict vulnerability and the way of keeping group cohesion. Pub institution is described in ways important for groups, importance of social identity and how it can be seen in groups as mutual relationship of identity blending, creating their own relations with common activities, which are ritualized same as the visit of a pub.

Everyday life in Moruš

Thesis "Everyday life in Moruš" deals with everyday life in a small border village on the edge of the Bohemian Forest (Český les). The main focus is on gainful and ennobling brigades in the village and events associated with them. Included is a volunteer fire department, fire teachers' lounge/ pub, carnival entertainment, children's day and maypole. Thesis is based on the literature about anthropological and ethnographic research dealing with everyday life and dividing population on "old-timers" and "newcomers" as it is in theory of Norbert Elias. The practical part is based on qualitative research, complemented by ethnographic methods. Research is using participant observation and semi-structured interviews, which are the ground for the analysis of connections between activities and also influence of participation or non-participation on the perception of individuals given by other villagers. At the same time, the study is posing a question whether there is some importance in being active during social and cultural events, which would project to the life of the villagers. Whether they are somehow stigmatized and judged by other villagers for their absence.
