Arnošt Lustig and experience of the Holocaust in light of theory of narration Abstract. Means of implementation Nazi program of exterminating the Jews, which was designed and implemented during the Second World War, had an instrument of realization in a concentration camp, where prisoners not only of died, but there was organized devaluation of their lives. We talk about it as a "model form of government", reasonably elaborate system, in which prisoners should believe, that their life has no meaning, and on the other hand they are exposed to "limit situations", that create pressure on their survival instinct, and thus affect their behavior. From world of ever-present death prisoners brought experience, about which many could not and others needed to talk. However, they meet with an inability to express this experience. There grow up a debate whether the facts are trivializing. The threat of trivializing is seen also in artistic representation. As one of the options for capture the experience of the Holocaust is mentioned concentration on the internal experience of the individual, which can by displayed mainly by art literature, whch is looking for new expressive and formal means to "communicate an incommunicable" trauma. Among the writers of literature, who comes from their own camp experiences is ranked...
Actor and HIs Fear
Roleček, Vít ; OTČENÁŠEK, Štěpán (advisor) ; SALZMANNOVÁ, Eva (referee)
In my master thesis, I am trying to name the origins and signals of an actor`s fear. I have came from my own existing stage experiences previously and whilst studying classical acting at the Dramatic Faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague, and also from my first experiences with differing professional groups from theatres from around the Czech Republic. My thesis is supported by professional literature, with which one I have read during my studies at the Academy, and it is inspired by talks and by consultation with people who are active in an artistic field. In my work I reflect my mental prosesses, states and blocks, not only during stage creations, but also in my personal life. I think that a fear can rule an actor and cause stage fright. This is why I have decided to choose this subject for my thesis.
Coping strategies in children´s fear and pain in relation to nursing care
PROCHÁZKOVÁ, Zuzana
For the nurse, taking care of hospitalized children is important not only pediatric nursing knowledge, personal and social preconditions, but also the theoretical and practical competency of methods and techniques, which are used for identification and effective influencing of pain and fear. The aim of this thesis was to identify the main sources of fear of the hospitalized preschool and young school age children and to find out the effective methods and principles of the cooperation with children, alternatively with their accompanying parents in order to moderate the fear of the small patient. Then the thesis tried to chart the nursing diagnostic and evaluation procedure of the pain and get the most used nursing methods of non-pharmacological pain relief. To obtain the necessary data, the qualitative research was used with a semi-structured interview as a research instrument. The first research group consisted of 12 nurses, the second group consisted of 12 children ´s patients of preschool and young school age. The majority of the asked nurses thinks, that children´s patients are afraid especially of non-familiar environment, then of the awaited pain and of the solitude without parents. However, the most patients said, that they were afraid especially of pain, then of non-familiar environment, restriction of their needs, hostile attitude of the medical staff and of the other neighbouring patients. They were also frightened of the death and of the darkness. Most reported nurses mean, that the most effective solution of the children ´s fear is the friendly attitude of the medics. They also mentioned the fact of taking the focus off the fear and the presence of the parents is also beneficial. The nurses ´ answers were in conformity with patients opinion in two fields - friendly attitude of the medics and taking the focus off the fear. Then the children mentioned abiding of their specifics in connection to falling asleep and the demand of beying treated by the same sister or by few same sisters. All respondents also talked about the benefit of parents presence. Regarding the principles of the cooperation, nurses answered the importance of united medical procedures, especially the proper way of information transfer. Then the respondents nurses mentioned the psychical and emotional support for children and their accompaniments, the atmosphere of confidence and the value of well done education. Also the need of calm, silence and privacy was stated. Unlike nurses, children and their parents regarding to principles of the cooperation prefer the psychical and emotional support, then the importance of enough information was mentioned. The fourth research question bears on the methods used for children pain monitoring. The nurses said, that the intentional interview with the patients or with the parents was used as a main technique, that was stated by patients as well. Research question number five said: What are the most used nursing methods of non-pharmacological pain relief at children? Most responded nurses mentioned the distraction of children attention from the painful incentive, then the importance of physical methods, relief position and purposeful preparation for the unpleasant intervention. Nurses also named the helpful contribution of the parents, relaxing exercises and the method of imagination. Regarding the pain treatment, it was noted, that all patients prefered the analgesic therapy. Then they quoted the distraction of their attention from the painful incentive, the friendly attitude of the medics, using the ice compress and the relief position. In the pain acute phase, children required mostly calm, comfort and privacy. All children also considered the presence of parents as very helpful. The theoretical and empirical part of the thesis are suitable for being studied by nurses taking care of children and it can be helpful for nursing quality improvement at children ´s wards in hospitals.
Analyze of the selection tests in dogs
Kadlecová, Irena ; Chaloupková, Helena (advisor) ; Hradecká, Lenka (referee)
The aim of the diploma thesis is to assess and analyse the value of the character test in general, both in the Czech Republic and Sweden. Their quality to reveal the real personality, emotional stability, fear reactivity and aggressive reactions. Czech character test is required as a condition for breeding for both Belgian and Australian shepherds by the Belgian Shepherd Club of Czech Republic. The aim of the analysis is to measure the differences between the tasks and the results of the Czech character test and highly-developed Swedish Mental test that reveals the character in a more complex way and is generally more demanding also from time management side. Furthermore the analysis explores the possible relation between the results of the character tests and trial performance in dogs undergoing this research. The testing ran in three terms, while both tests were conducted in a single day for each participant. The target group were owners of Belgian and Australian shepherds with dogs between 1 to 4 years old. The total number of tested dogs is 17. The Swedish test proved higher connectivity of the tasks (high correlations) as wells as higher results variability between tested animals as opposite of the Czech test. The results of this pilot project study did not show any connection between the high score in the test and higher probability of passing the working exam, although this result can be influenced by low number of animals tested and their lower age. This study works as pilot applied research to increase the effectivity and simplify the testing of working dogs, however, it is essential for next stages of research to focus on concrete parts of the test and their connectivity to the dog behaviour in a given situation.

Kebrtová, Helena ; HANČIL, Jan (advisor) ; SCHEJBAL, Milan (referee)
This Master Thesis describes the Expérience Grand-Guignol project, consisting on the one hand of research of the texts preserved in the Parisian Theatre Grand-Guignol (1897 – 1963) and on the other hand of a graduation performance in Theatre DISK which staged four plays from the repertory of this famous theatre of horrors. The Expérience Grand-Guignol project explored in practice various approaches to the historical material of Grand-Guignol placed in a contemporary context. It examined limits of the genre and methods of staging favorable to the Grand-Guignol experience today. The thesis is structured in three parts. The first part presents the Grand-Guignol theatre phenomenon, its history and theory compiled from accessible literature. The second part is dedicated to a detailed preparation and realization of the project. It presents four performed shows, including the overall set design and storyline, which provides the frame for the cycle. The last part presents a short reflection on fear as an effect of a theatre performance, a summary of observations from the practical examination, and an evaluation of project.
Chaos, šílenství a jejich souvislost s prostředím ve vybraných povídkách Edgara Allana Poea
FEKETOVÁ, Petra
Chaos and madness belong among the most prominent themes in the work of the American writer Edgar Allan Poe. For this thesis, I have decided to focus on these two themes and their relation to the settings which they take place in, mainly because the settings are a key feature in Poe's work. The connection of chaos and madness to the settings will be examined through four selected texts from the author's prosaic work. The aim of this thesis is to analyze these texts on the basis of these connections and therefore to provide new points of view on them.
Nursing care of women before and after LAVH
MAREŠOVÁ, Petra
This bachelor thesis deals with nursing care of women before and after LAVH (laparoscopically assisted vaginal hysterectomy). It describes preparation of the patients before the procedure and nursing care before and after the procedure. The thesis also focuses on psychical preparation of the patients, because the woman's psyche plays an important role in this case. The thesis has a theoretical and a practical part. The theoretical part was done after researching scholarly literature and the latest knowledge in the domain. The practical part of the bachelor theses is focused on the research of the fear that the women feel immediately before the procedure and on the research of the change in the body image after the procedure. Two goals were set in this thesis: the first goal was to find out what the women are afraid of the most before the procedure. The second goal was to find out how the body image changed after the procedure. Four research questions were established on the ground of these goals. The first question was: "What techniques do the women use to mitigate the fear", second question: "What are the women afraid of the most before the procedure?", third: "How are the women informed about the procedure?", fourth: "How do the women perceive their body image after the procedure? "Qualitative research procedure was established to process the aforementioned problem. In two cases the data gathering was performed by non-structured depth conversations. On the ground of these two conversations several vital questions were established, which served as the foundation for the rest of the research, which was conducted in the form of semi-structured conversations. The research sample was represented by randomly chosen women that were to undergo LAVH in Příbram, who agreed with the cooperation. The conversations were conducted only after verbal agreement given by the respondents and they were completely voluntary. The respondents were informed that the obtained results would be processed anonymously in this thesis. The respondents are labeled as R1 to R10.The research was conducted during the month of March in the Regional hospital of Příbram after issuing a written request (see Appendix 2: Consent with conduction of a research). The research is broken down into two parts, a part before the procedure and a part afterwards. From the research we found out that the patients are afraid of the narcosis the most as this was confirmed by eight of the ten interviewed patients. The body image changed only by three of the patients who had counted with the change already before the procedure. As to the first research question, we learnt that the most commonly used technique to mitigate fear is conversation with the doctor, which is considered vital. Patients who learnt information from their gynecologists were advised the best. On the other hand, patients looking for information on the internet discussion forums had only inaccurate or misleading information, which they showed during the conversations. This answers our third research question. The last research question relates to the change in the body image and also closely relates to our second goal. We can say that the fact that patients' uteruses have been taken out doesn't mean the loss of their womanhood for most of them. The opposite is true for only three of the ten patients. In the future this thesis can serve as an information material for women who are to undergo LAVH and who want to learn something from the domain. Opinions of women patients who already underwent the procedure are important part of this information material.
