Material selection and heat treatment of blade knives
Mrňa, Tomáš ; Molliková, Eva (referee) ; Němec, Karel (advisor)
A good quality knife should have good cutting features and the edge should be resistant against blunting which can be achieved by using different materials. Steel is the most commonly used material for manufacturing of blades. There are 4 basic categories of steel used for blades manufacturing: unalloyed noble (class 12), low-alloyed (class 13-15), stainless (class 17) and special tool steel (class 19). The optimal combination of structure and features of the used material is achieved by tempering process. The goal of my work is to focus on the steel blade and to point out differences between materials used in mass production and steel used by cutlers. Including the possibility of using various unusual materials from already manufactured products. I am also trying to describe each kind of quenching and consequences of wrong processing.
The Influence of Heat Treatment on the Structure and Mechanical Properties of Tool Steels
Tobolík, Stanislav ; Němec, Karel (referee) ; Molliková, Eva (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the properties of tool steels after heat treatment. The theoretical part describes the properties of iron and its alloys with carbon, and an overview of the use of steel. It is also discussed in detail the heat treatment of tool steels and manufacturing process analysis and metallographic sample. In the last part of the bachelor thesis there are described the mechanical testing of metals. In the practical part it is tested structure and mechanical properties of the selected tool steels for two types of heat treatment and the results are compared with the requirements imposed on it.
Structure and properties of welded joints of steam turbine rotor
Machala, Jan ; Hutařová, Simona (referee) ; Juliš, Martin (advisor)
This thesis deals with the assessment of the structural-mechanical properties of welded joints of steam turbine rotor. Experimental weld material is low alloy steel 30CrMoNiV5-11 in the state after the artificial degradation. The theoretical part of the literary researches the issue, focusing on the weldability of different types of steel used in the energy industry, the metallurgical processes in welding and provides an overview of the most important methods of welding. Great attention is paid to the evaluation of weld quality in accordance with relevant standards and destructive and non-destructive testing of welded joints. In the experimental part of this work was carried out measurements of hardness and microhardness of the weldment by Vickers and evaluation of the microstructure by light microscopy. The obtained values and information about the properties of the material after artificial degradation were compared with previously obtained experimental results in the default state (after annealing).
Weldability of steels for steam turbine parts
Jech, David ; Hutařová, Simona (referee) ; Juliš, Martin (advisor)
The aim of contemporary standard welding technologies is to create compact welds with high value of solidity and toughness in laboratorial and operational conditions. This welding technology is asserted in new creep - resisting steels on basis of steel CrMoV and CrMoNiV, which have high value of solidity and creep - resistance. The thesis deals with problems connected with the weldability of steels for steam turbine rotors and it´s aim is to interpret the structural and mechanical features of the weld joint for material combinations under consideration. For the assessment of weld joint features has been used measuring of micro hardness and hardness according to Vickers, microstructure was observed by methods of light microscopy.
Measuring hardness and final data base management.
Macháč, Miroslav ; Dvořák, Jaromír (referee) ; Kalivoda, Milan (advisor)
This work is focussed on analysis of hardness tests and methods of evaluating the measured values. Theoretical and practical part emphasizes on testing iron materials, with the help of the most practically used methods. In practical part was executed Jominy test.
Test hardness in the conditions of engineering company.
Duba, Hynek ; Madaj, Martin (referee) ; Kalivoda, Milan (advisor)
This Bachelor thesis gives brief survey focused on the most used methods of hardness testing. It also focuses on using these methods in practice and research on conducting these methods in the Jihlava region. It also includes comparison between large and small companies regardiong using the methods
Test hardness and application on the conditions of engineering company.
Černohousová, Pavla ; Madaj, Martin (referee) ; Kalivoda, Milan (advisor)
The aim of this thesis is in the first part theoretical part clearly describe the development, types and basic principles of hardness tests. The practical part consists of some of these tests applied to the collected samples. The results are then processed and evaluated.
Present Trends of Methods for Hardness Measurement
Brzobohatý, Tomáš ; Doležal, Pavel (referee) ; Hutařová, Simona (advisor)
Purpose of this thesis is created view of present methods of hardness measurement and to describe them in more detail. Firstly this thesis deals with representatives of standard and for many years used methods of hardness measurement and hardness evaluation which are used today, too. Secondly this thesis is focused on modern methods, and their successful working experience is question of time.
Measuring hardness and final data base management in condition firm Wera Werk GmbH.
Čelechovský, Martin ; Polzer, Aleš (referee) ; Kalivoda, Milan (advisor)
This thesis presents a brief overview of the most frequently used hardness measurement methods. It describes the condition and the functionality of the laboratory, focusing on metal hardness tests within the Wera Werk operations. It also deals with automation in the area of hardness measurement and the use of electronic systems for measured data processing with subsequent electronic archiving.
