Specifics of social work with clients with drug addiction

The number of people in the population who use addictive substances and develop adverse life situations is still growing. This issue is also connected with social, health and legal problems with which the drug user must deal. In this case, those addicted can look for help to institutions such as a contact centre. The theoretical part is focused on three topics. The first describes the terms of drug addiction, its origin, consequences and forms of support. The work deals with theories that are significant to the work. The last topic concerns the specifics of social work in a contact centre. There are selected core activities and techniques specific to this institution. I set the aim for this paper, which was to answer the question of which theoretical approach is best applied by social workers working with drug addicts. Furthermore I was finding out which are the best examples of good practical training. The results after evaluation showed that social workers cannot tell whether they work according to particular theories. Usually there is eclecticism, which means that they collect different experiences and then apply them to the work. The basis for these is a bio-psycho-socio-spiritual model that takes into account the integral concept of personality and the philosophy of Harm Reduction which is the main point of contact work. The research brought the views of social workers, their recommendations, and techniques that are proven by them, and also describe the pitfalls of their work. In my opinion, this work could serve as a good summary of techniques for new workers who would like to work with drug addicts. My results can also be the basis for further studies and research in this area.

The Media Influence on Transformation of Democracy

Mass media has always played the key role in democratic process. They are not only the indicator of its right functioning, but also the iniciator. From historical point of view is obvious, that technological progress and changes in the way of informing people were related to the political area. But with the increasing role of media, they changed their position from pure mediators of informations to the main actors of social and political life. The ‚old' media, such as newspapers, radio and television, are therefore partly responsible for commercialization of the public sphere and also for its depolitization. With contribution of the globalization effect on today's world, which causes besides other things the weakening of the nation state, there are only a little of the key democratic aspects left. Some find the solution in the ‚new' media represented by the Internet and social media, which are more interactive so they could get the citizens back to the game. And right in the increase of civic engagement see the theorists the potencial for creating a new democratic order based on high-level participation. The use of biographical anamnesis in care for clients with dementia in homes for the elderly in České Budějovice.

Basic theoretical background: The number of people suffering from dementia is increasing, mainly due to falling birth rate and lengthening of life expectancy. The World Health Organization deals with the issue of caring for clients with dementia in a detailed report. A summary of this report was written by the Institute of Health Information and Statistics of the Czech Republic.In this summary, it is stated that in 2011 the number of clients treated in outpatient care in the Czech Republic climbed to number 14,932 (of which 67% were women) diagnosed with F00 (Alzheimer's disease) and with F01 - F03 (other dementia) to 17,955 (of which almost were women). In 2010, the estimated global number of patients with dementia was 35,6 million. Our society constantly considers a person with dementia to be an uncommunicative client, who is very difficult to be cared (Kopecká, 2012). That is why dementia touches not only the bio-psycho-social, but also the economic field (Wija, 2012). The basis of the psycho-biographical model of care is to change the perspective to the client and to see him or her as a personality with his or her own individual, regional or collective biographical history. With the help of the psycho-biographical model, the care becomes more tolerant, as this model is primarily focused on maintaining and supporting self-care skills and reflecting client's current skills, especially his or her mental ability (Procházková, 2011). For clients with dementia it is essential to find a way to their emotional life, which can be achieved by means of the information from the client´s biography. The knowledge of the client's story of life will also explain his or her needs and requests in care (Kopecká, 2012). The psycho-biographical model improves care for clients with dementia, particularly in the area of individual care and activation of clients. Aims of the thesis: As for the research part of this thesis, two objectives were defined. The first objective was to find out nurses' opinions about the use of biographical history in homes for seniors in České Budějovice. The second one was to discover the influence of biographical history in care for clients in homes for seniors in České Budějovice. These research questions were set to these objectives: What do nurses working in nursing homes for seniors in České Budějovice think of the influence of biographical history in care for clients? Another research question was: In what ways do the nurses working in nursing homes for seniors in České Budějovice think the biographical history improves care for clients? Methodology: The research on the topic of using biographical history in caring for clients with dementia in nursing homes for seniors in České Budějovice was conducted via qualitative investigation. Semi-structured interviews with nurses working in nursing homes for seniors in České Budějovice were chosen for the data collection. Results: The results of the research showed that all respondents found the use of biographical history beneficial in care for clients with dementia, especially in the area of improving individual care, cooperation with the client and his or her family members and obtaining information about the client. All respondents would like to start using biographical history in caring for clients with dementia, although some of them would find the introduction of the model into practice quite problematic. Conclusion: The results of this research could be used to change the approach to care for clients with dementia and to improve the quality of care. This thesis could serve to nurses in charge as a background material for the introduction to this issue and for considering the possibility of introducing biography history in caring for clients with dementia, as all interviewed respondents reported working with clients´ biographies to be beneficial in care for clients with dementia.

Evaluation of the importance of international trade for Finland

The diploma thesis is focused on Finnish international trade and its importance for the national economy. The thesis is divided into two parts: theoretical part and practical part.
The theoretical part is done using the method of literature research and contains relevant information about the international trade. It is focused on foreign market entry modes, delivery and payment terms, the importance of international trade in the national economy and economic sanctions using in international trade.
The practical part first describes the Finnish economy using the key economic indicators and then analyses the Finnish international trade. The analysis is mainly focused on the international trade with goods and contains chapters about development indicators, commodity and territorial structure, major export-oriented companies and government export support services. The thesis also analyses international trade between Czech Republic and Finland and the impact of Russian economic sanctions on Finnish exporters. In the final part, the results are summarized and evaluated and there are proposals to increase Finnish exports and strategies and recommendations for Czech exporters when trading with Finland.

Subsidy Support of the Sustainable Waste Management

The subject of the dissertation is the issue of the waste management with special emphasis on the recycling of the construction and demolition waste. The recourse is an analysis of the key instruments regulating the activities and behaviour of market operators in this field toward fulfilling all-society priorities and principles of the sustainable development, where special accent is put on the area of subsidy policies and programmes. The aim of the dissertation is to analyse and evaluate the setting of the selected subsidy programme in terms of economic and ecological efficiency with the emphasis on the assessment of the impact on the recipient. The subject of the research will be a priority axis 4 "Improvement of Waste Management and Removal of Old Environmental Burdens" within the Operational Programme Environment 2007 - 2013. In the literature review basic concepts and important definitions are defined, followed by the comprehensive and complex searches of the problematics from different angles of view. First of all, the global aspect of environmental protection is discussed, broader historical, legal, economic and political contexts, that are essential fundament for understanding the current and future challenges both globally regionally, are summarized. Hereafter, a more detailed description of the situation of the European Union is followed, then the overview is completed by a detailed view at the state of the problematics in the Czech Republic. Subsequent chapters are devoted to a detailed analysis of the waste management sector, again in terms of global, European and national standpoint, in the end the view is focused on the key issue of the dissertation problematics of construction and demolition waste. In the application part the fulfilling of the stated objective of the dissertation through four defined hypothesis is solved. Hypotheses verify the efficiency and appropriateness of the setting of the system of subsidies in the frame of the monitored programme. The emphasis is imposed on the assessment of the impact of the allocated subsidies to the private entities on their economic and environmental efficiency.

State - country - nation: The loyalty of Moravian Czechs and Germans

This study traces in parallel the transformation of the collective consciousness and loyalties of the Czech and German populations in Moravia in the 19th century. It focuses on various forms of collective consciousness – provincial patriotism, Austrian state patriotism, Czech and German nationalism. It looks at how they relate to other forms of solidarity or loyalty, such as those based on class, religion, or region and at how their formation was influenced by important events and historical processes, beginning with Enlightenment absolutism, the Napoleonic Wars, the revolutionary years 1848/1849, the evolution of civil society in the 1860s and 1870s, the Austro-Prussian War (1866) and the Franco-Prussian War (1870), and ending with the diversification of political life in the late 19th century.
