Staff awareness of social service providers the South Bohemian region of incidents
HANZALOVÁ, Edita
The thesis deals with the level of knowledge of staff members of social service providers in South Bohemia region in case of emergencies response. Residential social care facilities that provide care for disabled people were randomly selected. These facilities provide care to clients who are permanently dependent on other people´s assistance, in this case assistance from staff members. Therefore, the staff should be sufficiently informed concerning emergencies and appropriate response to such emergencies. The social services facilities providing residential care for disabled people include: senior homes, homes for people with special needs, homes for disabled, respite services, weekday boarding facilities, sheltered accommodation and social rehabilitation. The theoretical part of the thesis reviews the concept of emergencies and their classification. These include natural disasters and emergencies caused by human activities. Selected emergencies are presented in more detail using the Emergency Preparedness Plan of South Bohemia. Another chapter of the thesis, very relevant to this topic, is the description of social care system. Residential social care sector providing care to disabled people is characterised. There are total 81 facilities that meet the criteria in the South Bohemia territory. In the practical part, 30 of these facilities, randomly selected, were contacted. The questionnaire was filled and returned by 20 facilities. The aim of the thesis corresponded with the research question: "What is the level of knowledge of staff members of social service providers in South Bohemia region what to do in case of emergency?" We have chosen a questionnaire form in selected facilities to respond the research question and to accomplish the aim of the thesis. Two types of questionnaires were designed. One questionnaire was intended for directors or head managers of the social services providers. It included total 15 questions. The questionnaire for the group of directors and head managers in the social care facilities used PAPI (Paper and Pen Interviewing) method. We have also designed a questionnaire for staff members of social services providers. This questionnaire was divided in 3 parts and included 28 questions. The first part contained 4 questions finding the characteristics of the respondent. The second part contained 16 questions. This part determined the level of respondent´s general knowledge concerning emergencies. The last, third part, contained 8 questions, that aimed at the social care facilities staff members self-assessment. The questionnaire results have been analysed using charts including their interpretation. The level of social services staff member awareness was assessed in case of individual types of emergencies, and subsequently in groups of emergencies. Groups of emergencies included dangerous chemicals, civilian protection, fire, infectious disease outbreak, radiation incident, flood, evacuation, and first aid. The level of 80% of correct answers was set to be the threshold of good knowledge by staff members. The questionnaire results suggest that social services staff members are not sufficiently informed what to do in case of emergencies. The margin of success was reached in the question what purpose has the warning sound "general alert", and in the question what is acute radiation disease. In the group of emergencies, the level of good knowledge was not reached in any item. The thesis also assessed the level of preparedness of individual social services facilities for an emergency. All of the participating social services providers have a Fire evacuation plan, and majority do evacuation drills. The thesis concludes that social services staff members are insufficiently informed concerning emergencies, and that social services providers insufficiently train their staff members as well as their clients concerning recommended response to an emergency.

Immunity of Members of Parliament in Selscted States: Study 1.175

Specifics of nursing care for members of the Seventh Day Adventist Church
VOTRUBOVÁ, Veronika
Seventh Day Adventist Church was established in the United States in the 19th century and belongs among the Protestant churches. Adventists are characterized by the fact that they expect the second coming of Jesus Christ and hold Saturday holy for celebration of God. The theoretical part deals with the definition of multicultural nursing, nursing and describes the nursing process. It is focused on nursing models Leininger and Giger with Davidhizar. Another part of the theoretical work deals with religion, spirituality spiritual needs of patients and clients. The last part focuses on the Seventh Day Adventist Church. There is information about their history, doctrine and communities, basic doctrinal pronouncements, their particularities such as baptism, which is done in adulthood, the Lord's Supper and principles of Christian life. Adventists worship on Saturday; they are not allowed to work and must devote the whole day to God. The work also describes the activities of the Church and the related humanitarian organization ADRA. Adventists keep to a healthy lifestyle and have a medical program called the NewStart. The goal of the diploma thesis was to find out the specifics of nursing care for members of the Seventh Day Adventist Church, to map out specific attitudes towards health among members of the Seventh-day Adventist Church and to map opinion of nurses on the importance of multicultural nursing for their work. Towards these goals, five research questions had been established: 1. Do members of the Seventh-day Adventist have specific needs in nursing care? 2. How do members of the Seventh-day Adventist perceive medical personnel attitudes? 3. Do members of the Seventh-day Adventist have specific spiritual needs? 4. Do members of the Seventh-day Adventist lead a specific lifestyle? 5. Do nurses know the importance of multicultural nursing in practice? To fulfill the research objectives and to answer research questions, qualitative research was used. The survey was carried out through semi-structured interview with members of the Seventh-day Adventist Church and general nurses. Interviews with members of the SDA were held in the Gathering of Seventh Day Adventist Church in Benešov and the snowball technique was used to find further respondents. Interviews with general nurses were conducted in two hospitals in internal and surgical wards. The Interviews were attended by 10 members of the SDA and 10 nurses. The qualitative survey found that members of the SDA church have no specifics in nursing care. Only some members, who are vegetarians, require a vegetarian diet in hospitals. In a hospital setting, they have no problem with praying and easily adapt to the surroundings, because they do not want to draw attention to themselves. They have no problem with vaccination, transplantation, receiving transfusions or other diagnostic and medical procedures. Most members perceive health professionals positively, but there were two who have experience with disdain and misunderstanding of their faith by them. Further research shows that Adventists have specifics in death care and diet. SDA has a health reform, which includes the NewStart. The Adventist Church does not recommend eating meat and bans alcohol, tobacco and narcotics. Nurses see major importance of multicultural nursing in avoiding conflict with a client that could arise from ignorance of their religion. Another point is the possibility to better understand the client's behavior and the ability to empathize with their feelings. Because of the knowledge of multicultural care, nurses are able to meet the needs of clients and provide them with quality nursing care. On the basis of the research, standard nursing procedures for members of the SDA and informational material for nurses to facilitate the provision of particular care to members of the SDA have been developed.

Cooperation with clients´ families in the Retirement Home Třebíč during the period of adaptation process
DOLEČKOVÁ, Olga
In the Bachelor´s Thesis I devote my attention to the issues concerning adaptation process of a senior starting in a long - stay social service - the Retirement Home Třebíč - in connection with cooperation with family members. The issues regarding old age, the elderly in need of help from others, are becoming more and more important in today´s society. This fact is closely linked with the increase in human life span. In the theoretical part I defined the terms: old age, age division, and the changes that take place in this inherent developmental stage of life. In addition, I dealt with the active process of adaptation to novel living conditions, and the symptoms of maladaptation. In the following chapter I described a family, its functions in today?s society, and the family relationships. I defined social protection and social services set in the legislative frame, as well as problems regarding registration of social services. I described the Retirement Home Třebíč, where the research took place, and the process of individual planning, whose component user´s adaptation is. The way in which adaptation takes place, how often and the manner in which family members cooperate with a senior and the staff of the organization is very important during this period. I devoted the research part of my Bachelor´s thesis to this particular area. In order to describe the cooperation I used qualitative research with the method of questioning, the technique of a semi-structured interview. There were eight respondents; family members, instructors of social services, and key workers, participating in the research. The results confirmed that a family´s cooperation proves to be a key area when looking into adaptation in a retirement home. If a family does not cooperate or in case of a lonely senior, this role is to be supplemented by staff of the retirement home. It is up to them whether they can eliminate the potential impact of social maladaptation on the senior. The results of the research confirmed that it is important to support cooperation between families and the users of social service, so that a life in a retirement home resembles the one in a natural environment before their arrival as much as possible.

Comparing the operation of the Police, Fire Brigade and Ambulance Service in the Czech Republic, Germany, Austria and Slovakia.
NÁVRATOVÁ, Šárka
Comparing the operation of the Police, Fire Brigade and Ambulance Service in the Czech Republic, Germany, Austria and Slovakia. Various authorities and different assignments of the members evoked an impulse to make a coordinated progress at rescue and liquidation works in MU - the joint rescue service. Joint rescue service integrates the daily needs in the cooperation of firemen, medics, the police and other departments at solving MU, for example fires, disasters or traffic accidents. The police, firefighters and the medical rescue service are governed by law No. 239/2000 Sb., about an Integrated Rescue System and about the change of some laws in the constituent parts. These components have also their own personal law and regulations, according to which they governs themselves. Law No. 238/2000 Sb., about firefighters in the Czech Republic and about the change in some laws, law No. 273/2000 Sb., about the police of the Czech Republic and law No. 374/2011 Sb., about the medical rescue service. The Bachelor thesis describes how individual forces are managed, their organizational structures and the way important tasks are performed. Every state has its own system, according to whose firemen, the police and the rescue service are in place and some differ from the system in the Czech Republic. Step by step, the thesis compares the systems of these forces from the point of view of authorities, legislative measures, arrival times or numbers of professional substitution of the employees. After establishing the criteria and their subsequent analysis, it came to light that the Czech Republic does not lag substantially behind in comparison with Germany, Austria and Slovakia, but in certain matters some countries appear to have a more elaborate system.

Assisting ex-convicts to find permanent placement and employment and their chances for successful rehabilitation back into society.
KOPAČKOVÁ, Bohumila
The issue of adaptation of persons released from imprisonment to the life of freedom is a complicated matter. Recovery or even the necessity to learn completely new life habits, skills and activities is a complex and long process during which the newly released prisoner faces many risky moments and such a person could be re-failure. This thesis is focused on mapping the extent and availability of services to persons released from imprisonment. I would especially like to focus on finding out about the degree of qualification, work experience, skills, work habits and motivations of released people in their reintegration process after the release. Chances of getting a job are related to this. The research was conducted through interviews using a questionnaire survey among the imprisoned who were a short time before the release from imprisonment (maximum of 6 months) and those just after the release from their imprisonment. Research was conducted in the period from February to June 2010. The research results show what factors and how they can undermine the process of rehabilitation of people released from imprisonment. In practice, this bachelor thesis can be used as an outline for the prevention of problems in the field of recidivism. It can be completed by a number of local studies dealing with this issue and which are based especially on the examination of criminal statistics. It offers a subjective perspective of the evaluation of life position and risks of recidivism of prisoners. I believe that the objective of the thesis, which was to map the scope and availability of services to persons released from imprisonment and the related issue of their chances in the labour market, has been met and I have managed to handle the given topic in the form I had outlined.

Analysis of radiation control in the storage of spent nuclear fuel at NPP Temelín
PAPAN, Juraj
Problems of dealing with radioactive materials, especially burnt out nuclear fuel, are a delicate and discussed topic in the Czech Republic and other advanced countries nowadays. In this work, the realization of radiation control of warehouse of burnt-out atomic fuel of nuclear power plant Temelín is analysed. Step by step there are stored packaging files filled with burnt-out fuel which is produced by the running of atomic reactors. In the introductory chapters individual packaging files are described. The shielding of stored burnt-out nuclear fuel and prevention of release of radionuclides beyond the protective casing of packaging files depend on their quality. Further the lo-cality of nuclear plant Temelín, where the warehouse of burnt-out nuclear fuel is placed including manipulations which are carried out with the packaging file, is described. The emphasis is placed on monitoring technological parameters during the storage of pack-aging files. The target of this work is to analyse the radiation control of warehouse of burnt-out nuclear fuel, precautions of radiation protection valid for this object and con-sider the possibility of optimalization of used measuring devices, suggest the adjustment of the way of carried out monitoring. For meeting the goals of this works it was neces-sary to carry out monitoring the current radiation situation in the storage boat which is partly filled with packaging spaces when according to the following calculations I ap-proached to the prediction of the level of radiation situation during the maximum filled storage boat. These calculations are at the same time the background for the proposal of adjustment of regime precautions in this object with the aim to optimise the professional radiation. One of the basic strategic targets of the operator of nuclear plant Temelín, company ČEZ a.s., is to ensure a safe operation of the biggest Czech nuclear plant, one of the basic conditions for meeting this target is to ensure the radiation control and pro-tection in the required quality. The results, which are the output of this work, will be given to the department Operation of radiation protection for other practical usage, pos-sible adjustment of a current operation documentation which solves the radiation control of the storage of burnt-out nuclear fuel.
