Risk analysis of load bearing RC structure review

Master thesis deals with the evaluation of risks in the course of strengthening reinforced concrete column. It describes the assessment of existing structures according to ISO 13822, discusses the dangers that can occur when determining the carrying capacity of the existing structure. It also describes the different phases of strengthening steel banding, their functions and influence on the overall capacity. Also showing calculation process of strengthening reinforced concrete column, using steel banding, based on standard EN 1992-1-1 and EN 1998-3. In a concrete example of reinforcement is shown a process for determining the carrying capacity and then designed to the increase. In the two examples performs risk analysis using the universal matrix of risk analysis that identifies and quantifies the importance of various hazards associated with the calculation and implementation of the project.

Project management in selected company

This work deals with project management in chosen company. It has two parts. The first part is theoretical, which is focused to theoretical treatment of the subject. It explains what is the project, management of projects, organizations of projects, processes of project management, what is target of project, communication, control, changes and risks and more. In the practical part I focused to concrete company and project management and than I analyzed concrete project. Name of the mentioned company is OHL ŽS, a.s. It is company from Spain, which acts all over the world. In the Czech Republic has the base in Brno. This company has several divisions and every of them is focused to different professional architecture. I have chosen division of structural engineering. This division builds all kinds of buildings. It could be construction of new buildings or reconstruction. To analysis of chosen project I used various business documents, contracts with investor or suppliers, document which include billing, timetable. I especially used my experience with projects of this company, and I was part of this project. Name of this project is Reconstruction of cladding including replacement windows and insulation. During the analysis of project I found a couple major gaps. If we could avoid these gaps, we could increase profit. These graphs is especially in management. At the beginning there were appointed two temporary construction managers. They doesn't care about result project, because they knew that they will not be to the end of the project. These gaps are because there is missing motivation system. Project manager can´t affect results of employees. It doesn´t depend on performance of employees, they always has the same wages. For elimination of these gaps I proposed several suggestions for improvement. The first suggestion is modification and extension of motivation system. New motivation system include personal evaluation. This evaluation depends on performance of employee. The second part is bonus from over profit. The next suggestion is make a new working position. This position would take care about controlling and project documentation. During the building project, especially at the end is construction manager very busy. It depend of decision of construction 63 manager what kind of activity will have prefer. Project documentation and administration or controlling of building works. If they are doing everything correct and technology are respect. Suggested position would take care about invoices, real work, which is done, project documentation, controlling of budget. The third suggestion is purchase of small machinery such as chipping hammers and drills. At this time they rent all devices. Rent is higher than purchase price. The last suggestion is use credit to restoration of fleet. At this time they have obsolete fleet, because the bought all cars by cash. It is not conveniently.

The Snuff music band marketing communications

This graduation thesis describes marketing communication of czech modern-rock band
The Snuff, where author of the thesis is a member and composer of the band himself. At first, theoretical background in marketing is defined, especially significant attention is paid to latest trends in marketing communication including marketing communication on the internet and social networks. The practical part is focused on analysis of survey regarding buying habbits of the czech and polish fans of the band. Then pen and paper interview took place, which was done with czech and polish female fan of the band. Based on the findings, specific recommendations are proposed for The Snuff to improve their marketing activities. Also, The Snuffs most ambitious upcoming project called The Ultimate Price is analysed, whether is czech and polish fanbase interested in the project or not and also which direction should band take to finish the project successfully.

Environmental Impact Assessment Follow up analysis of Pankrác administrative centre

This diploma thesis evaluates issues of environmental impact assessment, focusing on post-project analysis of the Pankrác administrative center. Follow-up evaluation is one of the most important practice through EIA which can fulfil one's potential. Major contribution is mainly the EIA feedback which will be compared between real and predicted impact. Follow-up will provide knowledge to avoid possible non-conformances in EIA evaluation process in the future. Methodical of this thesis is based on international standards of good practice in EIA follow-up, which should always correspond with the specific circumstances of the project and the specific context. The main principles are results-oriented approach, learning, institutional commitment and responsibility. Meaning of the follow-up is the main research question to evaluate the environmental impact assessment. The thesis evaluates the implementation of the main comments from the various point of views. All opinions, changes and views of all participants must be reviewed in implementation and operation phases of the EIA process. Another sub-section provides a comparison of the noise pollution before and after realization of the project and analytical part concludes evaluate compliance with the general principles of good practice. The results collect comprehensive assessment of the EIA process. The follow-up for Pankrác administrative center was important and it proved that positive cooperation with the investor made processes more effective in the terms of the environmental protection of the area. In the future it would be appropriate to dedicate more effort and time for the follow-up. Especially raising awareness of the existence and positive impact of the entire EIA process and also to protect the environmental and public health.

Realization of farm with a focus on poultry

This thesis deals with the origin of a family farm. By creating a business plan and issues connected with it, its priority is an organic poultry farm, which will produce poultry meat and eggs. Another service beyond the farm production will be creating conditions for a developing branch, which is agro-tourism and other services related to the operation of the farm, so that it leads to the economic development and profit.
The farm will arise by rebuilding of an old house with a large barn and adjacent 10ha of lands inherited from grandparents. There will be built a multi-purpose building called the poultry farm from which the poultry will have access to pasture. The property includes another 1 ha of forest from which the wood will be used as a building material and firewood.
The work is divided into two parts: theoretical and practical. The theoretical part especially focuses on explaining the concepts that are important to understand the business plan.
Then there is the legislation concerning the organic farming, a tangle of laws, public notices and regulations that must be followed in order to meet the conditions for the organic farming. An integral motivational service of the country and the European Union for farmers and not only for those who are environmentally-managing farmers, is support and grants for the years 2014 - 2020. A very important step not only for the starting farmers is a market analysis in the given branch, as well as a SWOT analysis that will show us the positive and negative aspects of the business. The conclusion of this section deals not only with the concept of agro-tourism, but also with its market position as well and possibilities of its use and further development.
In the practical part there is a description of a business plan and individual periods of the project including financing. Finances will flow from own and foreign capital, or the possibility to apply for support through non-refundable grants. The establishment of the farm will have an impact on the labor market, as there will be 5 newly created jobs and the community will fit into the wider public awareness thanks to the activities that the farm will develop for the purpose of product promotion and further development. Furthermore, there are itemized individual items that lead to the final evaluation of the effectiveness of the business plan. By processing the theoretical and practical part of the thesis the requirement of the thesis objective is met - to design a prosperous family farm focused on poultry keeping with a hypothesis if it is currently possible to be competitive while importing poultry meat and eggs from abroad. It can be concluded that the business plan is viable.

Life cycle and documentation of student projects

The aim of this work is to describe and compare student projects by time, range, sources, benefits, risks and quality and suggest possible ways of improvement in planning and organizing of these projects. First part of the work introduced theoretical overview in area of project management and the terms used in case study are listed and described. At first, there are described obtained information about specific projects that are the subject of comparison. From this information was analysed the state of use of the project management tools and the life cycle of student projects. This analysis shows information important to following comparison. Then, it was examined which factors positively or negatively influences the planning and organizing of projects. Subsequently, the proposal was drawn up to enhance the positive effects and reduce negative impacts on student projects. As an additional study then came the analysis of students' interest in participating in the Contest of Student Projects organized by the Department of Systems Engineering at the Faculty of Economics and Management of the University of Life Sciences in Prague.

Reintroduction of endangered vertebrate species in the Czech Republic

Reintroduction process, often also called repatriation, restoration of populations of
a certain species in areas where this specie was toner occurred. This work is focused on the evaluation of reintroduction, including problems that accompany it and its history. For succesfull renew of the population shall the reintroduction program have three phases. First of them is the reintroduction efore the surfy and the preparation phase. Following phase is the achal lunch of the species into to wild and final phase of reintroduction project is the follow-up care and monitoring. Reintroduction program should always involve experts from various disciplines and not only in science but also in sociology and specialists to communicate with the public. The success is also given by the cosi of these projects. Problems associated with re-introductions are several. Important thing is to select appropriate species for reintroduction which is not easy especially because of public opinion. Professional basis for the selection of species is the Red book but public opinion is in reintroduction programs very important and can be decisive. Attractive species get preference from the public view especially mammals and birds. Furthermore there are examples of successful reintroduction in the world in this work. The main par is focused on individual species of vertebrates which are relaesed into the wild in the Czech Republic: Ground squirrel Spermophilus citellus, Lyns Lynx Linch and Ural owl Strix uralensis. Each of these species is described in detail and it also includes conservation activities and cause sof Langer or extincting of species. Some organizations which are dealing with emergency programs in particular are also briefly mentioned.

Project Risk Management

The thesis deals with project management with a closer focus on risk management in the selected company. First it was necessary to establish cooperation with the company. The work is divided into two parts: theoretical and practical. First I describe the approaches of existing methodologies using common professional literature in the theoretical part. Then in the practical part I start with characterizing the company. I study current state of project management that I determine on the basis of internal corporate methodology, my own observation, and interviews with the Head of Strategic Projects Unit. I also study the status of project risk management that I determine on the basis of my own observation, structured collection of information, and follow-up interviews with employees. After that I design Project Risk Maturity model in the company. At the end of my work I evaluate existing information and propose improvements: risk management methodology for the company.

Evaluation of revitalisation of green vegetation on the square in the town Dobříš

The thesis is focused on the evaluation of the revitalization of green vegetation at the Mirove square in the town Dobris. Revitalization took place in 2012 and its main purpose was to revive and attractiveness of the area. The condition was to preserve the original character of the square.
As part of this thesis is done monitoring of the project with settings the most important points that had an impact on the recovery of the area. Explored is for example the financing of revitalization, architectural competition and management of urban green areas in Dobris.
The main essence of evaluation is analysis of greenem which was performed before starting the revitalization and after its completion. It describes the health condition of trees, their aesthetic value and composition of vegetation, which was solved by the project. Based on the dendrological report is evaluated the management of greenery, which was ensured by the city untill the start of the project.
Described is street furniture and all landscaping which was applied in the renewal of greenery. Included are radical adjustments like felling of selected trees, but also a minor health interventions.
In conclusion there is proposed recommendations for possible adjustments. They are entered in the design of solutions that can be used to improve the project. The recommendations are designed to improve representativeness and functionality of the entire revitalization project in the investigated area.

Minimal standard for making land-use plans and their follow utilization

The MA thesis deals with the issue of creating a spatial plan as one of the most important documents which regulate the state of using individual spaces within the Hradec Králové Region from the viewpoint of a Hradec Králové Region Regional Office employee who deals with spatial planning activities as part of his workload. The introduction of this thesis describes the process and the very creation of spatial plans with reference to current legislation that regulates this issue in the Czech Republic. The thesis introduction also describes the Minimum Standard for the Digital Creation of Spatial Plans in the GIS,MINIS project, which is being applied in the Hradec Králové Region as a recommended methodic for creating spatial plans on its territory. The second part of the thesis focuses on the development and evaluation when putting the aforementioned project,methodic in the Hradec Králové Region into practice. As part of the development and evaluation, the impact of creating spatial plans per the cited project,methodic, which concerns all the affected subjects dealing with the issue of creating and subsequently using a spatial plan, will be evaluated. An analysis has also been made based on these evaluations and analyses, whether the Hradec Králové Region selected an appropriate strategy concerning support, which recommends the MINIS methodic when creating spatial plans on its own territory.
