The Art forms inspirating for ethical dealing with lost of child.
HENKENOVÁ, Stanislava
Beginning of my bachelor thesis describes if arts, artworks and experience given from art have some utility for a better dealing with loss of child. It was important to point out how big the differences and gaps are between our modern society and history which perceived death differently, we can say like part of the life but the course of time and expansion of consumer way of life caused that the perception of death rapidly changed and nowadays we take the death like a terrifying part of our lives. In these days people more and more divert the focus from the death issue because this time just rejects this thought. Today's society is completely alienated to the death issue and when people come in contact with it, their reactions are usually negative and the inconceivability of this situation in which they found themselves is present. That's why I was also interested in the view of adult and child. And the difference was clearly considerable. This refers to clause by intellectual disposition of child and adult one already disposing with life experience. I was also curious about how black culture, totally different from our own, is aware of the death and all trauma around it. During my internship in South Africa I was curious about their traditions, customs and rituals which they made during the grief and also which feelings are included in this trauma and how the society perceive that family. Because of this reason I further took an interest in what kind of impact the religion, culture and education has towards the attitude to the death. Of course we can find the familiar features for both cultures but moreover there are differences. The three mentionned elements have a big impact to the perception of the death. I was also focused on which possibilities has our society for parents who are traumated by this hard life situation. With regard to my field of study I was further curious about which role can play social worker in this area and also whether he or she can be useful to bereaved family.
