Improvement of the Functional Properties of the Control Mechanism of Turbine Waste Gate Valve
Španko, Dominik ; Vacula, Jiří (referee) ; Novotný, Pavel (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with the improvement of the functional properties of the control mechanism of turbine waste gate valve, which is an essential part of the turbocharger. During operation of this mechanism, substantial wear of its components occurs. The aim of this diploma thesis is wear analysis of the main pin and proposal of new design solutions of pin fitting, enabling wear reduction. At the beginning of the thesis, research of suitable methods for analysis of mechanism dynamics and wear calculation of components is performed. In the next part, the forces acting in contact between the body of bearing and main pin are evaluated. Subsequently, an analysis is performed to calculate the contact pressure. Based on the analyses outputs is possible to calculate the wear of the original as well as the new designs of the main pin fitting. New design proposals presented in the work allow to significantly reduce the wear of the pin and thus achieve a longer operating life of the mechanism.
Friction coefficient analysis of the turbocharger bypass valve
Wolf, Juraj ; Spáčil, Tomáš (referee) ; Krejčí, Petr (advisor)
Aim of the diploma thesis is set to present a new method for evaluation of the friction coefficient of the wastegate valve system. A test fixture was designed and manufactured for this purpose. Simulations in ANSYS and MSC Adams support test results. The developed method provides an accurate and affordable solution for investigating of friction coefficient for various valves of turbochargers wastegate.
Turbochargers for Present Combustion Engines
Šárfy, Ľuboš ; Janoušek, Michal (referee) ; Dundálek, Radim (advisor)
This bachelor´s thesis is focused on basic review of turbochargers present´s drive units. Work is specialized search dealing in first part with history and process of supercharging. In second, main part work attends to boost control of turbochargers, multistage supercharging, twin-scroll supercharging and latest design solutions in concrete actual petrol and diesel engines. Final part describes individual parts of turbochargers and failures in use of turbochargers.

Čech, Tomáš ; Drápal, Lubomír (referee) ; Svída, David (advisor)
A thesis focused on engineering an external wastegate used for power control of an exhaust driven turbocharger.
SI engine with Miller cycle turbocharger operation optimization
Novotný, Pavel ; Böhm, Michael (referee) ; Štětina, Josef (advisor)
The diploma thesis deals with the calculation of thermodynamic parameters of a turbocharged petrol engine with Miller cycle. A drive unit from Volkswagen, the EA211EVO model line, was chosen as the engine. The engine has a displacement of 1498 cm3 and engine power reaches 110kW at 5000 to 6000 RPM. In this work, a basic description of the thermodynamics of cycles of spark ignition engines is performed, then the problem of turbocharging and methods of its control are presented. The following are the created engine models in GTSuite environment in variants with WasteGate and Variable Turbine Geometry. Finally, operation optimizations with various valve timing changes are presented. The individual variants are the compared.
Classification of wear relevant duty cycles of turbocharger validation
