Design of spindle turning center

This master´s thesis deals with the design of the headstock of a turning center. The aim of the work is the design solution of turning headstock with output of about 5 kW with the possibility of positioning in the C axis. The introductory part of this thesis is focused on the descripti-on of the basic parameters of the headstock and turning centers on the market. The next part deals with choice of cutting conditions and calculation of spindle parameters. These calculations are verified using the FEM method. Based on the calculations and design requirements, a headstock model with drawing documentation is created.
Design of milling machine spindle

This bachelor's thesis deals with solving design of milling machine spindle. At first, the background research in milling machines and their spindles is processed. Here is adduced distribution of machines, basic description and examples from current manufacturers. In this part, there are described types of spindles and their basic parts. Second part of thesis is focused on technical calculations and design of the spindle based on defined parameters. An attachment includes assembly drawing, three main parts drawings and 3D model of spindle.
Design of small CNC milling machine

The bachelor thesis deals with the design of headstock, spindle and Z axis of a small CNC milling machine. Firstly, the current state and production of small CNC milling machines is described. The other contains a system analysis of the given issue. Then input parameters are selected to be used for the necessary calculations. The last part of the thesis contains the structural design of the headstock and spindle with Z-axis feed, which is created in Autodesk Inventor. It includes a 3D model, assembly drawing, and production drawings.

The subject of this bachelor's thesis is a literary overview and a simple design of a lathe spindle with basic calculations. The first part contains a overview and a categorization of lathes with their technical parameters and the literary research, which is focused on the spindle of machine tools. The second part contains calculations and the design of the lathe spindle. The 3D model of the spindle, designed in SolidWorks 2008 software, and the assembly drawing of the lathe spindle are also included in this thesis.

Usage possibilities of different large turning centres in cutting operations are mentioned too. In the second part, the calculating proposition of a chosen component of large turning centre is solved. This component is spindle-drive. Calculating proposition contains calculation of cutting force, power, total efficiency, utile work and energy.

The type and parameters of the floor type boring machine are chosen according to the background research. In the next part the thesis deals with the individual structural units of the headstock. The thesis also contains a 3D model of the headstock and fine drawing documentation. The 3D model of the horizontal floor type boring machine has been converted into a virtual reality environment.
