Dynamic BSC and strategy maps as a tool for corporate communications
Malá, Kateřina ; Mildeová, Stanislava (advisor) ; Leciánová, Gabriela (referee)
Balanced Scorecard (BSC) is one of the current methods of strategic management and planning. Unlike some methods are focused on non-financial measures, when their connection with financial indicators leads to more efficient management of business performance. Dynamic BSC is one of the modifications of the BSC method, which uses elements of system dynamics and system thinking, for its optimization. One of the elements that are used in conjunction with this method, the strategy maps, which is used to visualize the interdependence of goals and metrics between basic BSC perspectives (financial , customer , internal processes , learning and growth). Balanced Scorecard and strategy maps can also serve as a tool for communicating critical information in enterprise-wide breadth. This use allows employees at lower levels of management to be informed about the objectives of the company, and their specific involvement to achieve them (their contribution to strategic , tactical and operational objectives ). The contribution of the thesis is the exploration and subsequent evaluation , which is the awareness and use of methods Balanced Scorecard and strategy maps to support communication and awareness in enterprises.
Analysis of enterprise's complex system
Malackanič, Roman ; Sigmund, Tomáš (advisor) ; Berta, Michal (referee)
This diploma thesis focuses on the analysis of a particular soft complex system in the company. This system is a running car service with a determined problem situation. This system and its problem is then evaluated in terms of soft systems methodology, system dynamics and critical systems heuristics. The theoretical section provides concepts to understand the complexity and also individual system approaches. As beneficial of work I consider the practical part, which is aimed to the analysis of complex real-world system using the selected approaches as well as an evaluation of these approaches. Main purpose is to bring comparisons and suggestions for improvement and also a broader view to the system. All of this increases information value of approaches and we are able to deliver more relevant information. Thesis is therefore focused not only to deal with examples from practice but also to extend the selected theories within the system approaches.
Effect of overtime X motivation on the dynamics of the project
Sarvaš, Marcel ; Mildeová, Stanislava (advisor) ; Šimek, Luděk (referee)
Final thesis discusses about the influence of overtime and motivation to manage projects. The thesis highlights the positive characteristics about connection between the system dynamics and the project management. Includes basic theoretical definition of motivation, management control and overall project management. Analyze the possibility of using different methods, especially motivation to influence or stimulate the work flow. Highlights the positive qualities of the use of dynamic modeling and simulation to solve IS/ICTprojects. It examin the real situation of overtime influence on solving the problem. This situation is portrayed in the relevant diagrams of system dynamics and it is modeled in the program Powersim. The text also contains a detailed procedure for the entire solution.
Principles of learning organization project team
Rudá, Dominika ; Mildeová, Stanislava (advisor) ; Kopecký, Matěj (referee)
This thesis deals with theory and practice of learning organizations applied to the IT project team. In theoretical part key definitions and terms related to the problems of the learning organization and the information society. At the same time gives a demonstrative interpretation of the self-learning organization by various authors and presents their specific models. As the fundamental, this thesis uses the theory of Peter Senge, with which it is being worked also in the practical part, where the IT project team is analysed of their behaviour, and compared to the results obtained with the theory of the five disciplines of Peter Senge. In conclusion there is a set of recommendations that could improve the functioning of the IT development team and achieve a greatest compliance with the learning organization concept.
Importance of systems thinking and capability of its application by students of Information management
Svoboda, Roman ; Mildeová, Stanislava (advisor) ; Exnarová, Anna (referee)
The diploma thesis deals with the indispensability of the systems thinking and its testing. Theoretical analysis of the subject as the first part of the thesis points to show the importance of the systems thinking in everyday life, the definition of essential skills within the systems thinking and typical mistakes we commit in the thinking processes. The theoretical analysis puts the accent on justification of the systems thinking importance in the scope of information management. Another part of the thesis is focused on globally used examples in testing processes of the systems thinking which are supplied with newly arised questions in this thesis. The last part of the thesis contains a detailed analysis of the systems thinking skills among students of Information Management. Their results are compared with two other result samples gained from testing of other students of the University of Economics.
Learning organization: case of law office
Rösslerová, Lucie ; Mildeová, Stanislava (advisor) ; Exnarová, Anna (referee)
This thesis focuses on the concept of learning organizations. The aim of this work is to introduce readers to this concept and to explain basic theoretical background, which will be subsequently applied to a practical example. All work can be divided thematically into two parts. The first part will be devoted to the theory of learning organization, introduction to basic concepts and disciplines on which the principle of a learning organization is built. The second section will discuss the practical side. Selected law office will be subjected to analysis. The results will assess the level of the learning organization, which the law office reaches. Following will be recommended steps to achieve a higher level if possible.
Systems Thinking and its Benefits for the Creation and Operation of Information Systems
Slovák, Martin ; Mildeová, Stanislava (advisor) ; Exnarová, Anna (referee)
The goal of this thesis is to summarize the mthods of systém thinking, and to analyze the benefits of using these methods while developing and using the information system on that basis. Part of the thesis targets is the creation of models for analysis of an organisation, projection and follow-up cration of na IS. The thesis also gives the views of IS use -- there it shows models for human resources and the views of services. The benefits of this thesis is the description of the methods of systém thinking, the application disciplines and their use while creating and using the IS. Other benefit should be the possibility to quicken the IS production and to lower external effects on the process of IS creation. In the domain of IS operation, the possibility of fuction modelling and the possibility of IT department simulation will be shown. In the first part of the work the topics of system thinking is defined -- from its definition to division o the problematics. In the same part there is also shown the impact of worldview and the application desciplines are defined -- such as systém analysis, systém dynamics and systém engineering. In the second part of the thesis, the reader can find the definition and analysis of the IS production -- mostly from the view of organization, for which the IS is designed. In the last part the readers may find the view of systems thinking and its benefits in the area of IS operation -- concretely the model, that shows and decribes the possibility of simulation and follow-up optimisation in the organization.
