Characteristics of cemented carbides in terms of production, marking method, physical and mechanical properties and application. Comparison of cemented carbides in the range of production of the most significant world tool and cutting material producers. Cutting efficiency evaluation of the tool. Recommended areas and operating conditions for effective usage of cemented carbides and their technical economic evaluation.

Morphology of defects and wear of coated cutting tools

The thesis focuses on the morphology of defects and cause of wear in coat cutting tools, the description of the chip formation and its effects on the machined area. The experiment drala with the description of the chip form in connection with the cutting properties, type of tools, wear in removable parting cutting tips and the comparison of cutting tips from two leading manufacturers.

This thesis deals with coated cemented carbides, which are used for the manufac-ture of cutting tools. In the first part are listed and described basic cutting materials. The main part is aimed on the coated cemented carbides - coating methods, manufacturing and properties of coatings. The third part deals with coated cemented carbide product range in the world's leading producer of tools and tool materials.

The bachelor thesis titled Coating methods for cutting tools describes techniques of deposition of hard abrasion resistant coatings by physical and chemical methods. The thesis contains the partition of the materials for cutting tools, description of producing cutting inserts made from sintered carbides, basic types of coating layers and comparison of coated sintered carbides in the assortment of selected manufacturers. There is also an outline of some trends in the area of coating methods at the end of the thesis.
