Geographical fieldwork: transmissive and constructivist approach to fieldwork in the Hvozdnice region

The thesis compares the constructivistic with transmissive geography tuition approach on Hvozdnice region model. The teoretical part defines field work, the didactic learning theories and focuses on closer description and comparison the constructivistic with transmissive pedagogical approach. The practical part brings a complete geographical characteristics of the specified area and subsequently SWOT analysis which provided crucial issues and generalization of the proposed field work worksheets. The proposed worksheets of the work field which deal with exploring of the local region are created in two variants- constructivistic and transmissive. Although there was no change in the thematic focus of the worksheets, there is the obvious difference between realization and achieving the objectives which is based on philosophy of each of the selected models of learning. Subjects for inquiry-based teaching of geography at secondary schools (with a practical demonstration during teaching about the local region SO ORP Jindřichův Hradec)

This diploma theses deals with a new trend of current teaching of science subjects and that is inquiry-based teaching. The main goal of this, for now in Czech environment unknown, teaching method is to make the teaching of science subjects more attractive and to renew the interest of pupils in these subjects. The theoretical part describes inquiry-based teaching, defines the educational subject of geography and it elaborates the connections with the generally educational programme the Primary education. The main part of the diploma thesis introduces created subjects of the teaching activities using the inquiry-based teaching of geography at the secondary school with the focus on the local region SO ORP Jindřichův Hradec. The submitted subjects of the teaching activities in socio-geographical region are thematically dedicated to transport, the quality of life and tourism, while the physically-geographical regions analyze the themes of meteorology and hydrology. The thesis includes the feedback on real created subjects of teaching activities. The attachment contains the worksheets related to the above mentioned activities.
Suggestions for project teaching on the 2nd grade of elementary school using the example of inanimate nature of Novohradské mountains.

This thesis deals with teaching about inanimate nature of the local region. The main theme of the thesis is to create own suggestions for project teaching on the 2nd grade of elementary school using the example of inanimate nature of Novohradské mountains. The project includes various activities focused on teaching about inanimate nature. The theoretical part deals with basic principles of interdisciplinary relations, project-based teaching and field exercise. It also includes an assessment of the significance of the interdisciplinary relitonships of the topic inanimate nature within the FEP. One of these chapters is devoted to the physical-geographic characteristics of the Novohradské mountains. The practical part is the final suggestion of the project.
Tourist Attraction in Teaching of Geography at Primary School: Case Study Kolín

Sixtová, M. (2011): Tourist attractions in teaching of geography at primary school: case study Kolín. Department of Social Geography and Regional Development, Charles University in Prague. The presented bachelor thesis is concerned with teaching local region issues. The theoretical approach is provided by examination of literature related to tourism and by analysis of curricular documents of state and school level. In the next part of the thesis, there are presented selected tourist attractions whose inclusion into teaching geography was monitored at primary schools in Kolín. At these schools, there was realized questionnaire survey among pupils as well as among teachers of geography. These teachers also participated in controlled interview which deals with a concept of teaching local region issues. On the basis of gained knowledge, there was devised school geography project, which is focused on application of tourist attractions into teaching local region issues.

The thesis consists of theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part deals with the characteristics of the local region and its position in educational programs. The practical part deals with the knowledge acquired on the basis of empirical research. It summarizes the findings on ways of teaching in primary schools and high school and results that students achieved in the Knowledge-questionnaire. On the basis of this investigation suggest your own design concept of teaching Blatensko, based on the current Framework Educational Programme for Primary Education.
Potential of Protected Landscape Area Křivoklátsko for environmental education in elementary school

The goal of this bachelor thesis is to find out the importance of Protected Landscape Area (PLA) Křivoklátsko for environmental education in elementary school. Firstly we carried out the field research thanks to which we discovered the information about total character of area of interest as well as the particular nature trails in PLA Křivoklátsko. Owing to information collecting in field we asked Elementary School Křivoklát for cooperation. The theoretical part deals with role of this topic in curricular documents which are validated in the Czech Republic. We read carefully the Framework Education Programme for Elementary Education, the School Education Programme and the Thematic Plans of Elementary School Křivoklát and chosen textbooks with valid clause by Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports. On the basis of all gained information we formed a questionnaire and it was made the pilot research between pupils who are attending the sixth and the ninth class in Elementary School Křivoklát. This research of pupils´ knows ledges concerns nature conservation in the Czech Republic and in the local region, PLA Křivoklátsko. With respect to the results of pilot research and other gained information about the area of interest it was subjectively evaluated the importance of PLA Křivoklátsko for the environmental education in elementary school. Subsequently there were suggested some subject matters for wider using PLA Křivoklátsko in teaching which may be the item of more detailed describing in diploma thesis.
Potenciál využitelnosti hry geocaching ve výuce zeměpisu na ZŠ se zaměřením na místní region ORP Chotěboř

The main topic of this thesis is the potential usability of Geocaching game in teaching geography at primary school with a focus on local region ORP Chotěboř. The main objective is to create ideas how to incorporate geocaching game in teaching geography (namely, the problems of the local region) on the sample ORP Chotěboř. The theoretical part presents a brief physicalgeographical and sociallygeographical characteristics of the area, along with the basic rules and principles of geocaching game. An integral part of the geocaching game is a setup of teaching of geography on the basis of existing curricula, particularly FEP. At the same time is this part of the work supported by the study of other relevant literature. Practical work includes its own field survey of the area and the subsequent analysis of existing caches in the area of interest. In particular, their thematic focus provides the data for the final chapter of the work, which is aiming to introduce the potential proposals of teaching thematic unit with the help of the local region within the game of geocaching geography lessons at primary school.

This material is a project for teaching local region, using Lipno region as an example. These worksheets are author's final teaching methods proposals.
The usability of Geocaching in junior-high school geography classes (with a practical demonstration in a Dačicko region lesson)

This thesis deals with the usability of the Geocaching activity in the tuition of junior-high school (JHS) geography. The main objective is to create suggestions for integrating Geocaching into the JHS geography lessons, with demonstrations within a Dačicko region lesson. Included in the thesis, there is an analysis of caches located in the surroundings of the city of Dačice and the usability of these caches for teaching. The theoretical part of the thesis deals with the basic characterization of the region of interest and with the basic principles and rules of the Geocaching activity. As well, the possibilities of teaching curriculum dealing with the region by means of the Geocaching activity are mentioned. The resultant suggestions for teaching activities are processed into work sheets which can be completely integrated into the lesson and were tested by the author in practice at the JHS in Dačice.

The main aim of the diploma thesis is to provide the possibilities how to get the information easily about the European significant locality Žofínký prales ? Pivonické skály. Another aim is the participation of this locality into the education system. The theoretical part of the diploma thesis is focused on the European legislation which is connected with the nature preservation. It describes the selected part of the Novohradské hory and its specifics and the subject of protection. The practical part of this work analyzes the essential visitor´s knowledge of the terms of the European legislation. It offers the short stay in ?ESL with the specific theme? and tries to explain the matters of the nature preservation in an understandable way. It is determined to the specific groups of tourists, students and the others.
