Air Traffic Flows Analysis
Šimíček, Martin ; Chlebek, Jiří (referee) ; Kujal, Tomáš (advisor)
ŠIMÍČEK, M. Air Traffic Flows Analysis. Brno: Brno University of Technology, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, 2013. 84 s. Supervisor Ing. Tomáš Kujal, Ph.D. The diploma thesis discusses the factors that affect routing and transport performance in the air transport. Besides the characteristics of these factors the main objective of this thesis is to quantitatively evaluate their level of dependence on the traffic performance of air transport. This is done by using the linear regression analysis. Based on this analysis, mathematical models of dependence of these factors on traffic performance are developed. The thesis also verifies the accuracy of these models and tries to find out which of them are usable and which are not. Their accuracy is mainly dependent on the selected track and on the type of airline.
Evaluation of GDP depending on the operating performance of air transport
Tomanová, Veronika Anna ; Šplíchal, Miroslav (referee) ; Chlebek, Jiří (advisor)
The diploma thesis describes performance in the area of air transport, based on performance of national economies of two selected neighbouring countries, Czech Republic and Germany, through comparison of their gross domestic product in the selected time period. The operating performance is focused mainly on transportation performance of air transport. First part of the thesis is dealing with interconnection of economy with air transportation. Crucial part of the work contains analysis of development of GDP and analysis of development of transportation performance of both countries. Part of the thesis is also acquisition of passenger-kilometre data derived from fuel consumption and produced emissions of CO2.

Evaluation design of civil airports effectivity indices
Novotný, Roman ; Janík, Radomír (referee) ; Veselý, Petr (advisor)
Introductory part of this thesis concludes the development of air traffic, division of airports in the Czech Republic according to the Ministry of Transport, according to the Law on Civil Aviation and according to the Coding of the airports (Requirement L 14). The aim was to realize theoretical definition and division of output and economic indicators. After that comes choice of appropriate airports from the European Union. The choice has been made on the basis of the number of check-in passengers at the airport in Prague-Ruzyně. Eight most suitable airports have been chosen from all twenty-seven member countries of the EU. The following step is comparative analysis of these chosen airports on the basis of specified output and economic indicators for the years 2005-2009. The year 2010 has not been included, because the chosen airports did not complete their annual reports, balances and statements of profit and loss. From these sources the values for calculation of individual indicators have been chosen. These indicators have been shown in charts, evaluated by means of graphs in Excel Programme and further they have been characterized in words. The aim of the thesis was also the evaluation and comparison of output and economic indicators of effectiveness and after evaluation, proposal of methods of evaluations has followed.
Route Planning in Air Transport
Sychra, Marek ; Krčmář, Radim (referee) ; Křivka, Zbyněk (advisor)
The problem of route planning in air transport (in public transport in general ) is similar to the shortest path problem. The main differences are the time dependency of the input graph and the multicriterial aspect of the path costs . The aim of this thesis was to create a complex system that would be able to load elementary flights from database and then respond to user requests with combined journeys made from single flights . It was achieved using two state of the art algorithms , CSA and RAPTOR , which were adapted for the flight graph. The experiments which were run on real world data showed massive speedup of the algorithms when using the proposed optimisations . The whole system was also tested against an existing proprietary solution .
Air carrier's liability to passengers
Suková, Petra ; Frinta, Ondřej (advisor) ; Lederer, Vít (referee)
Air carrier's liability to passengers Abstract The thesis deals with the civil liability of a carrier towards passengers in air transport. The current legislation is unevenly spread over three levels - international, European and national - with its core being enshrined in the Montreal Convention, the scope of which is extended to all EU carriers by an EU regulation. The thesis analyses the relationship between the different levels of regulation. Particular attention is given to the exclusivity character of the rules contained in the Montreal Convention and the disputed interpretation of the exclusivity rule in legal theory and judicial practice. The author focuses on two main areas of air carrier liability to passengers and identifies problematic aspects of their legal regulation, stemming mainly from the lack of definitions of key terms. The first area is liability in the event of personal injury, where attention is given to the interpretation of the concept of an accident resulting in death or bodily injury to a passenger, and then to the interpretation of the concept of bodily injury, with a focus on the possible inclusion of psychological injury. The second area is the liability of the carrier in the event of delay; here the thesis examines the relationship between parallel regulations at international...
Monitoring negativně vnímaných dopadů letecké dopravy
Lesslová, Kristýna
The topic of this bachelor thesis is Monitoring the Negative Perceived Impacts of Air Transport looks at the currently available options for assessing the negative effects of air travel on the quality of life of residents living near The Vaclav Havel Airport in Prague. The bachelor's thesis is divided into two main parts, namely the research section, in which air travel is characterised and in which the negative impacts it entails are subsequently mentioned. The information on the research part was largely drawn from specialist literature and from the official pages of the relevant institutions. The second main part is analytical, where the basic information and history of The Vaclav Havel Airport in Prague are presented and the negative impacts that air transport brings on the nearby area of the airport are subsequently discussed in more detail. The final chapter of the analysis section contains an analysis of the strategic documents of the municipalities concerned. At the end of the work, the summary results suggest recommendations leading to the greatest possible reduction of negative impacts on nearby areas.
Legitimation of regional airports in the Czech Republic - case study of Pardubice Airport
Valečka, Filip ; Witz, Petr (advisor) ; Vejchodská, Eliška (referee)
This thesis focuses on Czech regional airports and its problematics in relations to public finances. Despite the small country which Czech Republic is, regional airports are common in our regional cities. Mostly are these airports operated by regions and managed by their councils. That means financing from public budgets. First part of my thesis confirms that running these big infrastructure projects is very expensive. Moreover, none of them is profitable. And it is not caused by passing Covid pandemic in the last years. Regional airports are long term loss-making projects. The analytical part discusses about one case study of Pardubice Airport located in the east of Bohemia. Research evaluates a new project of Jan Kašpar Terminal in relation to its legitimacy. But the question is, how to observe legitimacy of public projects? This thesis builds the research on three dimensions of legitimacy inspired by analysis of authors Witz et al. These dimensions are majority, morality and thrust. Outputs are based on content and media analysis. The output is undefended legitimacy as a whole and the project remains questionable, especially because of missing strategy of development, hidden political controversies or inaccurate study which was used for public political decision-making.
