HOUSE ON THE FOOTHILL - TOWN HOUSE IN THE HISTORICAL CENTRE

The aim of this master's thesis is the design of a poly-functional town house within a complicated topographic situation of Pekařská street's foothill defining its functional content following the neighborhood necessities analysis, mutual function relationship, construction and expression medium, by understanding organism of the city, its evolution, potentials and actual problems.

Multifunctional Building Křenová

The polyfunctional building is designed on a corner plot which original use was as a parking area among Streets Křenová, Vlhká, Skořepka and planned city avenue. This proposal is based on the idea of two main functions, two different designs of buildings – housing, administration. The intended object would interconnect in the middle and thereby create a coherent entity. On the south side near Křenová Street, there is building with administrative and cultural functions located, thus creating sound barrier for the inner courtyard. In the second follow-up residential wing on the upper floors there are premises designated for residential units of various sizes and types, in lower floors premises for services. In the connecting part of these two buildings there are maisonettes and places for rent with wide use. The three floor underground garages, that meet demanded capacity, are designed under this plot.
