Analysis of the mutual relationship between two methods of field measurement of water infiltration into the soil

This thesis deals with the theoretical description of the infiltration process and field measurements of infiltration in the cadastral territory of Bohaté Málkovice. The research work carried out in 2011 in an experimental area on Haplic Chernozem/FAO, medium-heavy loam soil. The experimental area was divided into two parts, the topsoil layer on these surfaces was processed by both classic and minimization technologies. The plots were sown by spring barley. The applied measurements of water infiltration into the soil were two-cylinder method and MiniDisc. Within the vicinity of the infiltration experiments with intact soil were collected samples for laboratory determination of saturated hydraulic conductivity. From the field measurements and laboratory experiments were determined values of hydraulic conductivity (saturated and unsaturated), and other infiltration characteristics, the cumulative infiltration and infiltration rate. To evaluate the infiltration of the heats was used three-paramether Philp type equation that provides a good estimate of saturated hydraulic conductivity. For the evaluation of the MiniDisc there was used the Zangova method that provides the unsaturated hydraulic conductivity. The laboratory evaluation of the saturated hydraulic conductivity was compared with the estimated values obtained from the field measurements. The values of the saturated hydraulic conductivity from the laboratory measurements are closely comparable with estimates obtained from the steady infiltration rates from the field experiments. The research results also showed that medium-heavy loam soil, when being processed by minimization including modification of the soil surface by digging, have a positive effect on the infiltration of water into the soil. This fact leads to a higher protection plants in the vegetative period and improvement of the retention and storage capacity of soil.

Assessment health/quality of the soil near the village Bohaté Málkovice

Diploma thesis evaluates quality and healthiness of the soil health located close to Bohate Malkovice focusing on changes in both physical and chemical characteristics of the soil in time. The theoretical part describes physical, chemical, and biological parameters of the soil. Selected physical parameters are structure, texture, determination of measured weight, bulk density of the soil, porosity, actual volumetric water content of the soil, aeration, saturated and unsaturated hydraulic conductivity, infiltration, and colour. Chosen chemical parameters are pH, carbonates, soil electrical conductivity, and humus content. Picked biological parameters are microbial biomass, respiration, nitrogen content, and weed infestation. The practical part analyses selected indicators of quality of the soil from the location of the experiment close to Bohate Malkovice. The area under evaluation has been treated using reduced tillage for long term. The practical part is based on the laboratory examination of disturbed and undisturbed soil samples taken between years 2016 and 2018. Based on outcome results we can evaluate the quality of the soil considering plants growth, development, and soil fertility.
Heating of the kindergarten

This bachelor's thesis theme is about airflow ways of gas boilers described in the theoretical first part. The second part contains heating process of a kindergarten. Object is two-storeyed and newly reconstructed. Capacity of this object can contain 100 children placed into four classes. Heat source for this object is set of two gas condensing boilers. In this object are used panel radiators covered by wooden frames. In the object is partly used flow-through ventilation operated by ventilating units.
Study of possibilities protection against rural zone water

This thesis is divided into two parts. The first part of thesis deals with the problems of soil erosion, surface runoff and measures affecting runoff. The part also explains the concept of surface runoff, and what are the most common methods taken to avoid water erosion caused by surface runoff. The next part about measures is divided into two chapters. The first part of measures describes the most common measures to increase the infiltration of surface runoff. In the second part of these measures were been described the measures to support water retention. The second part of the thesis includes methods of flood protection municipality Sebranice.
The role of macrophages in the regulation of systemic metabolism in Drosophila

Macrophages are immensely versatile cells in the mammalian body, fulfilling roles ranging from protection against pathogenic intruders and engulfing apoptotic cells to morphogenesis and maintenance of tissue homeostasis. This impressive functional versatility may be achieved due to plasticity of macrophage cellular metabolism called metabolic polarization. The adoption of different polarization phenotypes by macrophages determines their function and is essential for the health of the organism. Nonetheless, if the cells lose their metabolic plasticity or polarize inadequately to a particular situation, it can lead to the development of chronic pathological states such as metabolic syndrome. Metabolic polarization of immune cells is thus a key factor in determining whether macrophage function within the organism will be adaptive or pathological. Despite Drosophila melanogaster represents a major model organism for immunological studies, the metabolic setup of activated immune cells has not been addressed up to now. The results of this thesis document that Drosophila immune cells undergo metabolic polarization toward aerobic glycolysis when challenged by extracellular bacteria. Mammals alike, this cellular metabolic switch is regulated by the transcription factor HIF1, thus documenting the conservation of this process between insects and vertebrates. Furthermore, we show that the adoption of aerobic glycolysis is directly linked to the production of the signaling factor IMPL2, which induces the mobilization of lipid stores from the fat body via the silencing of insulin signaling. By this mechanism, immune cells secure sufficient nutrients for successful elimination of the pathogen. Moreover, the mammalian ImpL2 homolog IGFBP7 appears to act analogously in the mammalian liver not only during severe infectious states but also in the liver of obese individuals. While such macrophage activity in regulating systemic metabolism is beneficial to the host during bacterial infection, it becomes maladaptive when chronically activated. Further evidence for a metabolism-regulatory role of immune cells has been found during insect metamorphosis and early post-metamorphic development. This thesis documents that during this period, macrophages infiltrate and engulf the histolyzing larval fat body and convert nutrients into storage peptides and lipoproteins. Subsequently, these nutrients are exploited by the maturing adult structures.

This diploma thesis deals with the evaluation of selected physical properties of soils in a vineyard. The site where the measurement took place was the Mendeleum complex in Lednice na Moravě, close to the Faculty of Horticulture of Mendel University in Brno. The experiment took place in the spring of 2019 and 2020. The investigated aspects were the measurement of soil penetration resistance and water infiltration into the soil. Penetrometric resistance was measured with an Eijikelkamp penetrologger machine and soil infiltration capacity with a SATURO dual head infiltrometer. The compared variants were grassed intermediate row, control in the form of black eel and black eel with the application of two different composts with a flat application and incorporation next to the awning belt. The results were graphically evaluated in the MS excel program.
Variability of hydropedological characteristics of soil type in the catchment of Tetřívčí brook

This thesis deals with the evaluation of hydrological properties variability of soils in forest catchment Tetřívčí brook in the source area Blanice based on selected hydropedological characteristics with respect to soil type, vegetation cover and character of slope. The selected hydropedological characteristics are maximum capillary water capacity, full water capacity, soil infiltration capability - infiltration rate and cumulative infiltration and retention potential of soils. In sum of seven soil subtypes found in forest (coniferous, deciduous and mixed) and meadow (cut and non-maintained) and on the different slope (three categories) were studied in the catchment area. This thesis is built on bachelor thesis, which dealt with the variability of hydropedological characteristics in the experimental pair comparison basins of Tetřívčí and Zbytinský brook. In the thesis were used mainly the measured data obtained from repeated field campaigns in pre- selected sites and data from the database of experimental catchments of Zbytiny. In the selected sites were made soil probes, soil samples were taken using Kopecky cylinders and infiltration measured by a single-cylinder infiltrometer. Operation of rain gutters

The diploma thesis is divided into two parts. The first theoretical part focuses on rain gutters, their distribution, operation and cleaning. The pollution, pre-treatment of rainwater and rainwater management are alco described here. The second practical part includes testing of selected street rain gutters in the institute of municipal water management laboratories (VHO). Furthermore, these rain gutters are compared and evaluated according to these criteria: filter construction, amount of captured material and cleaning system.
