Landscape changes due to suburbanization - an example of south-eastern outskirts of Prague

The study deals with the evaluation of landscape changes and ecosystem functions in the case study situated in the hintreland of Prague with the emphasis on the process of suburbanization. It analyzes the amounts, the range and the types of the changes of landscape due to suburbanization process and their effects on landscape structure and function. Geographic Information Systems in the field of environment and nature protection

The bachelor thesis summarize and refer to importance and effective using Geographic Information Systems in the field of environment and nature protection. The first and second chapter summarize historical development, main terms and principles of these systems to handle the problem. The third chapter deals with using GIS in the field of environment and presents examples and analysis of services and technologies in nature protection. The fourth chapter presents work with software and own concrete examples and definite possibilities. Web map services using geographical data

This bachelor thesis introduces geographic information systems, explains the use of them in real world applications and shows specific cases, where such systems are used in. This thesis also aims to explain specific web map services, namely WMS and WFS. These two services are also used in the practical part of the thesis. The goal of the practical part is to create functional prototype of web application using map services. The purpose of this application is to support sportsmen in finding new sport paths on an interactive map.

The possibilities of gaining three-dimensional data within internet environment

Paper maps become a thing of the past at the time of Internet and navigation technologies. With the advent of new technologies present maps are created in digital form by vector drawing and old maps are transformed into digital ones. These data can be also published on the Internet and it is also possible to work with them in Geographic information system. In this work I tried to study, describe and compare possibilities which are offered by various web interfaces.

Demographic development of Czech population

My thesis deals with demographic development of Czech population in 1995 - 2011. Basically the demography is science that analyzes the reproduction of the human population and suggests how the population will change in the future. In the theoretical part of the thesis, I will discuss literal review of the chosen topic. This theoretical part was divided into 3 sections. I define demography as a science, demographic development of Czech Republic and geographic information systems. In the application part of my work I will analyze the demographic development in practical way. I will analyze demographic trends on the level of municipalities with extended competence (ORP). The basis for the creation of demographic trends will create quality database of ORP, where will be included basic demographic indicators, which are mortality, natality, abortion, marriage, divorce rate and migration
