Cuts of polyhedrons
Borzíková, Žofia ; Bečvář, Jindřich (advisor) ; Šarounová, Alena (referee)
Title: Cuts of polyhedrons Author: Žofia Borzíková Department: Department of Mathematics Education Supervisor: doc. RNDr. Jindřich Bečvář, CSc., Department of Mathematics Education Abstract: The topic of the bachelor thesis is Cross Sections of Polyhedra. The basic principles of constructing such cross sections are shown and explained through illustrative examples of cross sections of solids together with the detailed description of the construction process. Especially, the cross sections of some "common" polyhedra like prism, tetrahedron, pyramid or octahedron are further discussed. The reader should use them to take up with the main issue of constructing cross sections. As an application of the acquired knowledge, the cross sections of other solids like Platonic or Archimedean solids are introduced here. The goal of these examples is to cultivate spatial intelligence for the purpose of constructing cross sections or better understanding of polyhedral in general. The bachelor thesis is a commented set of examples, which can be used as an additional material in the education of mathematics, not only in grammar schools. Keywords: cross sections, cube, cuboid, prism, pyramid, tetrahedron, regular polyhedra, semi-regular polyhedra
Cube nets as a tool for the development of geometrical thinking of primary school pupils
Nová, Zdenka
The diploma theses deals with the koncept of cube net and its use with the primary schoul pupils. More closely it considers creation and application of tasks suitable for natural grasp of the subject for younger students. The conclusions are based both on the outcomes of the experiments with the pupils and on the assesment of author's believes in the course of work on the diploma theses.
Graphic Editor for OLAP Interface Metadata
Šmerda, Vojtěch ; Ruttkay, Ladislav (referee) ; Hruška, Tomáš (advisor)
This thesis describes OLAP and data mining technologies and methods of their communication with users by using dynamic tables. Key theoretical and technical information is also included. Next part focuses on particular implementation of dynamic tables used in Vema portal solution. Last parts come close to analysis and implementation of the metadata editor which enables the metadata to be effectively designed.
Methodology for design of information system architecture
Plachý, Lukáš ; Stepnik, Štefan (referee) ; Koch, Miloš (advisor)
The aim of this work is to propose such a methodology for designing of SW applications architecture that allows effortless, exact and systematical transformation of the real business process into a model suitable as an assignment for implementation by programmers. The aim of this proposal is such a methodology that would allow to reach the above mentioned goals on the basis of easy-to-understand and simple principles and that would be available either as a fundament for its usage within methodologies that are focused on the management of such projects, or as an alternative to methodologies that are much to expensive, complex and/or designed for very large development teams.
The interaction of vehicles and road restraint systems
Rozbroj, Lukáš ; Němec, Ivan (referee) ; Hradil, Petr (advisor)
In this thesis I learned to work with the program LS-DYNA. The result of the calculation of the deformation of the concrete barrier, which involved replacing the vehicle at speeds of 80 km / h, 100 km / h and 120 km / h at an angle of 15 ° and 30 °. Calculations were performed and evaluation of important variables.
Leisure Time Centre Brno
Gregorová, Stanislava ; Teplý, Vladimír (referee) ; Odvárka, Antonín (advisor) ; Pěnčík, Jan (advisor)
The theme of my bachelor’s thesis is to design a new leisure time centre building in Brno Novy Liskovec. The area is a defined space by street Plachty. The building site is situated in the northern part of the area, surrounded by blocks of flats. The principle of the draft is based on integration of the building into the park in the context of the surrounding buildings. The object corresponds with blocks of flats in its shape and material, it adapts to the surrounding terrain by incorporation into the slope. Typical of the whole building are concrete, cube, simplicity – they can be seen at first floor outside, contrary to the ground floor - it builds into the surrounding terrain by a material of wood. The leisure time centre building is functionally divided into parts: a multifunctional hall, rooms for leisure and café. All these operations are closely related and complement each other. Green roof of the building is designed for people, equipped with benches. Together with the adjustment of the surrounding park it contributes to the creation of public space on the estate.
Methodology for solving an BI analytical tasks
Žebrák, Miroslav ; Pour, Jan (advisor) ; Jakoubek, Jiří (referee)
The thesis focuses mainly on OLAP technology and its tools using to analyze corporate data. One of the objectives is to define the analytical tools market and provide an overview which shows the current situation concerning those tools on Business Intelligence (BI) market. Another objective is to obtain an overview of some current and future trends in the BI market. The main purpose of the thesis is to create a "methodology" for solving an BI analytical tasks using analytical services in SQL Server 2008 R2 from Microsoft. To achieve these objectives a theoretical analysis of available resources and, in particular consultation with employees of Clever Decision company is used. The main contribution of this work is the development of analytical database itself, which is divided into separate phases where each phase contains best practices and recommendations, including examples.
Use computers by teaching mathematics at elementary school
MÁCHA, Pavel
This work thesis is dealing with interactive geometry software GeoGebra. Several use cases for educational purposes in elementary schools are proposed and described in detail. This work is mainly focused on construction of triangles, trigonometric functions, systems of equations and tasks related to motion and presentation of cube. Each example is followed by an application created in GeoGebra. With these GeoGebra applications you can easily change parameters with sliders and therefore further work is possible. This thesis provides step-by-step guide how to create each example which is helpful for both teachers and their pupils. Attached CD contains all discussed examples which can be directly used by teachers in elementary schools to support a classwork during math lectures. In the final part of this thesis advantages and drawbacks of dynamic geometry are proposed and short comparison of GeoGebra and Cabri programs is suggested.
