Business cycle theory from the point of view of the Austrian school economics

This bachelor thesis analyzes business cycle theory from the point of view of the Austrian school of economics which sees the main problem in expansion (boom) driven by low interest rates, contrary to mainstream school, which considers the time of recession with insufficient expenditures as the main problem. Therefore, in the first part of this thesis is provided theoretical framework which describes the main features of the Austrian business cycle theory. After the theoretical explanation follows the second, practical, part of the thesis in which I employed the theory from the first part in order to interpret the situation in Japanese economy since 1980 until present. The main reason is that after the bust of 1990 is Japanese economic still not fully recovered in spite of many recovery attempts based on mainstream macroe- conomic approach. At the end of the thesis it is shown that the Austrian business cycle theory is capable of interpreting the economic development in Japan as well as propose solutions that will lead to recovery. 1
The housing market and the reactions of the monetary authority in the context of liquidity surplus

The diploma thesis is mainly focused on the housing market and central bank's (supervisory authority's) potential reactions to risks arising from it. The thesis provides a broader perspective of the housing market so that the first part is devoted to the liquidity surplus as it is closely connected with the housing market. The next part of the thesis focuses on housing price bubbles and subsequent bursts as well as the tools of the central bank (supervisory authority) to mitigate such risks. It is discussed whether using monetary policy to affect house prices that do not reflect fundamentals is advisable. Macroprudential policy with its tools is introduced as an alternative. Special attention is paid to the Czech housing market.
Description of bubble behavior in liquid column

This bachelor’s thesis describes behavior of bubbles in liquid column. In the first part are introduced basic terms and forces which influence the motion, shape and behavior of the bubble. The second part is devoted to derivation of relations for mathematical model of the bubble motion and the model realization. In the last part the model is compared with experiment.
DOT.COM BUBBLE, CAUSES, CONSEQUENCES, PRESENT

Topic of this thesis is crisis which has developed in year 2000. Thesis is divided into two main fractions and then into multiple sub chapters. First part is focused on theoretical basis on which thesis later develops. Second part analyzes causes and implications dot.com crisis had and finally uses the same analysis for current situation at internet market segment. Thesis argues that main causes of the bubble were analytics, speculation, monetary policy and overall positive environment towards investing into internet companies. Furthermore thesis implies, that there might be another bubble arising as internet companies, especially so called social media companies, have highly overvalued stock prices and thus might cause downfall upon eventual correction.

Measurement of the impulsive force generated by colapsing bubble close to a solid boundary

The article presents experimental results of the acoustical and optical study of cavitation bubble collapse close to a solid boundary in water. The bubble was generated by discharge of low-voltage capacitor into a couple of wires closing a simple circuit. Different distances from the solid wall and different maximum bubble radii were studied. The bubble radius was studied using time-resolved photography and by PVDF film sensor glued on the solid boundary. The illumination was provided by high-power led diode. Synchronization of the system was provided by pulse generator connected to an oscilloscope. The impact power of the bubble to the wall was estimated from the time-resolved photography of the bubble and from the PVDF film sensor signal. The PVDF film sensor calibration was performed by a pendulum test to estimate the impact force.
Oscillation of Interfacial Meniscus during the Formation of Bubbles

A closer look at the interphase meniscus in the model system with a transparent plate using a high-speed camera has showed that after detachment of the bubble the meniscus moves to the lower orifice rim. On that rim the meniscus oscillate dumped by increasing pressure in the space below the plate. In the description of the bubble growth at the orifice during so called waiting period accrue the equations describing the oscillatory behavior of the meniscus. Together with the nonlinear Rayleigh-Plesset equation it results in a bifurcation behavior - the volume of bubbles ​​differ by up to 50% from the mean at certain values of the gas flow. This phenomenon has not been previously identified as the time-averaged values ​​of bubble sizes conceal this effect.

Kavitační bublina v blízkosti pevné stěny

The article presents the results of the calculation of the cavitation bubble collapse near a solid boundary. The solution is obtained using the FLUENT CFD software. The VOF (Volume Of Fluid) model is applied to study the behavior of the interphase between the liquid and the bubble content. The calculations were performed for three different distances of the bubble from the solid wall. The evolution of the bubble radius is obtained from the phase interface contours. The bubble jet velocity and its thickness are determined for all bubble positions.

The article presents the results of experimental investigation of laser-induced cavitation bubble in water. The cavitation bubble is generated using the Q-switched Nd-YAG laser and recorded by a multi-exposure method, which allows to record the bubble at different phases into single frame.
Bubble Production Controlled by Needle Movement

For the research of multiphase flows, it is often needed to produce bubbles of well-defined size. Examples of such a research are studies of bubble acoustic emission, bubble interactions with solid particles (e.g. in flotation process) or interactions between bubbles. To produce a well-defined bubble is, however, rather difficult, and it is even more difficult to vary the bubble size between different experimental runs. For this reason, we have produces an instrument ("bubble generator", which produces bubbles in a controlled manner, enableng to set indepedently the bubble size, bubbling frequency and total number of bubbles. The bubbling control is achieved by moving the needle, on which the bubbles are produced.
