The realisation procedure for flood control measures in the selected section of river Oslava

The thesis is focused on the comprehensive solution of the flood protection measures of the town Oslava on the river Oslava. The territory was subjected to a risk analysis with a graphical representation of risk in the area and potential damage to the property was calculated. In continuity has been proposed appropriate flood protection measure to reduce damage. The economic effectiveness of the measures was carried out and other documentation required for the underlimit tender of the project was elaborated. In the conclusion of the diploma thesis there is another possible use of the diploma thesis.

Comparison of proposed measures in Brantice–Kostelec section of river Opava

Diploma thesis deals with comparison of flow influenced by proposed measures with current status in Brantice-Kostelec section of the river Opava. The results of two-dimensional numerical model of steady uniform flow were used to assess the flow. The models were created using SMS – FESWMS for both of conditions. Thesis contains description of current status, design status, the theory of numerical modelling, comparison of the flow and evaluation of results.

Spatial planning in the flood area of the river Dědina Abstract The delimitation of new development areas in flood area of river is one of the steps leading to the increase of flood risk. The aim of this master thesis is to find out whether and for what reasons is the delimitation of new development areas happening in territories which are at risk of flooding. At the same time, the thesis also focuses on the role of the mayor, especially his competencies related to the management of flood risks, arising from his function. Theoretical part is based on discussion about the development of cooperation between society and natural environment and also concept of Flood Risk Management, especially in relation of the flood risk with the process of urban planning and also with the organization of public administration. The analysis of spatial plans of the 5 municipalities, or more precisely 14 local districts, located on the Dědina river in Hradec Králové region uses the borders of floodplain defined by T. G. Masaryk Water Reasearch Institute and spatial plans of analysed municipalities. The results correspond to created graphical outputs and following research of textual parts of the spatial plans. Revitalization and flood control on the river Oslava and selected tributary

The thesis is focused on the flood protection of the town of Oslavan on the river Oslava and its tributary Balinka. Sample samples were taken to determine the grain curve. The input data were obtained from the Povodí Moravy s. p. and were calculated in the HEC-RAS program. A level and flood analysis was developed and flood control measures were proposed. The flow was again calculated with the proposed measures and re-analyzed. At the end of the work the proposed measures were evaluated.

Determination of floodplain in Kyjovka river at km 71 to km 74

The diploma thesis discusses the current status of watercourse Kyjovka and a proposal for appropriate protection measures of the territory. The selected section starts at river-km 71,338 and ends at river-km 74,443. The selected part of the watercourse runs through the town of Koryčany. This thesis examines the selected section of Kyjovka split into two subsections. That allows for detailed presentation of several proposed appropriate measures to be applied at critical spots in the selected subsections. The calculation of the watercourse model and its capacity with the water level progresses for selected N(y.o.) flow rates were processed in HEC-RAS5.0.1. program. Proposed flood protection measures are incorporated in the drawings.

Analysis of flood situation on selected part of river

The thesis deals with an evaluation of flood situation at the area of the river Svitava in Brno throughout three different flows Q5, Q20 a Q100 and that proposes a possible solution for flood protection. Current state of the river stream is evaluated through hydraulic calculation combining 1D and 2D numerical modelling of flow rate with the use of HEC-RAS software.

Evaluation of runoff conditions in the catchment area of the Jeptiška stream

My final thesis are focused on the field of flood protection and hydrodynamical modelling for the drainage area of the Jeptiška creek.
The aim of my work is the evaluation of the status of the part of the watercourse (Jeptiška Creek between river km 0,0-2,5), the evaluation how hydraulic structures influence the streem and the analysis of foodplain areas for the selected floods. Floodplain areas and flood hazard areas are, as result of former steps, determined in Městec Králové.
The hydrodynamical model (using HEC-RAS model application) is compiled, flood plain areas are docomented using GIS.

Water management study on Smědá river

The fundamentals of flood danger formulation is defining space classification of flood characteristics, e.g. overflow borders and water depths in flood plains and subsequent analysis of these data in the form of so called maps of flood danger. The diploma thesis deals with characteristics of a selected part of Smědá river and with simulation of flood flows in order to create a map of flood risks which could be used as a possible design of flood precautions and protection of urban areas.
The thesis is divided into two parts.
The first part explains the terms of flood, types of floods, objects on the flow, degrees of flood activity, management of protection against floods in the Czech Republic, types of flood precautions, outline of models of flows in open watercourses and metodology of preparation of flood maps.
The second part concerns the mentioned river. After a brief introduction of the river, the paper gives a detailed description of water management buildings and respective simulation of flood flows and flood lines in the area concerned.

Flood protection in the community Želešice from streams Bobrava and Hajanský potok

This thesis is a study of flood protection in the community Želešice, Brno-venkov. The theoretical part deals with: the causes of flooding, their dividing and deals with options, how to protect endangered area. Main part includes calculations of the amount of sediment in the river Bobrava and the Hajanský stream, analysis of risks by quantitative expression, suggests to complete the flood plan of the community and a list of designed flood control measures with own technical suggestion. The last point is to consider, whether is the community threatened by backwater from the river Svratka, which the river Bobrava flows into.

Leisure and Integration Centre in Hranice

The basic starting point of the project is to understand needs of mentally disabled people and an evaluation of a badly usable floodplain. The draft proposes creation of an activity park, an exemplary garden and a leisure- and integration centre object. The centre generates an important point on the route from the city centre to the neighbouring spa town and connects two significant areas in the town, which associate various cultural and sports facilities. The design of flood-protection works was evolving from a version with a partial increase of the terrain and placement of a flood-protection dyke up to the nature-close arrangements in a terrain-dyke form, which doesn´t inhibit natural processes of the Bečva river and maintains an active flood zone in an almost unchanged shape. The building program was formulated in two versions. A creative café connected with a gastro-workshop is fundamental in the both versions. In the building program A a horticulture is emphasised, the building program B is more aimed at a creative-workshops. The new building is reacting to the needs for integration of disabled people and it's creating a place for “meeting”. The public space is creating by the composition of volume containing various functions. The garden- and park-arrangements in the studied area were chosen in the way to fully support the character of the planned leisure-centre. The draft is composed by geometrically alternating areas with different functions, which are connected by a promenade going along the dyke-crown.
