Trends in manufacturing of non-permanent wax patterns in investment casting technology
Halaška, Jan ; Šmatelka, Jakub (referee) ; Horáček, Milan (advisor)
Bachelor’s thesis describes the most used wax blends and equipment for manufactory of sophisticated castings. The thesis includes two major sections and these are wax blends and wax patterns. The aim of this thesis is to develop a literary review focused on the most advanced equipment and raw materials used in the investment casting technology with a focus on the manufactory of wax pattern.
Optimization of gating systems (their yield) in Al castings made by investment casting technology
Žižka, Jiří ; Šmatelka, František (referee) ; Horáček, Milan (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with the optimization of gating systems of shape-complex aluminum castings produced by investment casting process. Two castings whose massive gating systems make problem with the use of liquid metal (so called yield) were chosen for optimization. Each casting is described in its own chapter. The individual subchapters deal with description of the original and newly designed gating system. Simulation, test castings, X-ray inspection and metallographic examination were performed for each variant. At the end of each chapter there is an evaluation of the results of the optimization of gating system.
Investment casting – progressive foundry technology
Blažík, Petr ; Macků, Martin (referee) ; Mikulka, Vít (advisor)
The goal of this bachelor thesis is to bring special retrieval about possibilities of investment casting technology used for casting dimensional accurate products from aluminum alloys together with lost-wax process. The thesis deals with problems of the dimensional accuracy and the surface quality of casts produced by this technology. Further a thesis is focused on possibilities of increasing mechanical properties by the modification of casting procedure. At the end a thesis describes special technologies used for casting dimensional accurate aluminum alloys products used in aerospace industry, their principle and reachable mechanical properties.
"Net Shape" technologies suitable for castings
Bartoš, Filip ; Zemčík, Ladislav (referee) ; Horáček, Milan (advisor)
This thesis has the task to gather basic information about the technologies used in the manufacture of finished castings, i.e. without further processing, the so-called "Net-Shape". It is focused on technology investment pattern, the combustible model shell casting "Croning“, die casting pressure, die casting to ingot and centrifugal casting. All these technologies are compared in terms of specific features, range use, production economy, the advantages, disadvantages, the resulting quality of castings and other important factors.
Production of casting cylinder for engine modification of motorcycle Jawa 50
Chvátal, Pavel ; Pernica, Vítězslav (referee) ; Bořil, Petr (advisor)
Production of casting cylinder for engine modification of motorcycle Jawa 50. This bachelor thesis deals with the design of an air-cooled cylinder for racing modification of the JAWA 50 engine and its subsequent implementation using the rapid prototyping function. The designed part was cast and the finished casting was subjected to analysis.
Present state of investment casting technology
Bártů, Zbyněk ; Horenský, Jiří (referee) ; Horáček, Milan (advisor)
.The bachelor’s thesis is focused on the most modern and latest trends used in investment casting technology. The aim of this bachelor thesis is literary research on the most modern equipment that used wax pattern manufacture, ceramic shell manufacture, de-waxing, metal pouring and finishing operation. The first part describes the history and development of the investment casting technology. The following chapters disclose a general procedure for the production of the investment casting technology and equipment suitable for its manufacture.
Present state of investment casting technology
Soukupová, Lucie ; Šmíd, Dušan (referee) ; Horáček, Milan (advisor)
The Bachelor’s thesis deals with the latest trends in investment casting technology, from wax pattern manufacture, ceramic shell manufacture, de-waxing, shell heat treatment up to metal pouring and finishing operation. In the first part, the outline of the world production and the usage of investment castings nowadays are introduced. The other parts of the project include the basic technique of using new technologies. The aim of this work is developing a literature search focused on the most modern equipment and raw materials that are used in investment casting technology and testing of wax mixtures and ceramic slurries.
Optimizing the technology of Al casting manufactured by the "lost wax process"
Mikulka, Vít ; Vašťák, Patrik (referee) ; Horáček, Milan (advisor)
This diploma theses deals with possibilities of using numerical simulation for optimizing production of highly demanding thin-section casting produced by investment casting process. The casting made of aluminium alloy in which the manufacturing process was very problematic (occurrence of macro and micro shrinkages) has been chosen. By numerical simulation the existing technology has been analysed and based on this the possible reasons for defects found. This was later confirmed also by metallographic examinations. Following to this several options for a new technology were proposed and again by simulation checked their suitability. By comparing all above mentioned options two versions have been chosen in the end which was later tested in production with satisfactory results.
Investment casting technology - overview of cast materials
Ostratický, Marek ; Mikulka, Vít (referee) ; Soukupová, Lucie (advisor)
The bachelor´s thesis deals with investment casting technology and overview of cast materials. In fist section deals with production. From the wax model, applying and curing the shell up to the actual casting and finishing operations. The second part is often drawn up a general overview of cast materials, which includes ferrous and non-ferrous metals. The aim is to develop research describing investment casting method with a general overview of cast materials. A summary of their properties and their use in practice.
Possibilities of using numerical simulations in investment casting technology
Čagánek, Radim ; Cileček, Jarmil (referee) ; Horáček, Milan (advisor)
The diploma thesis deals with the possibilities of using numerical simulation in investment casting technology. The first chapter of practical part deals with the use of simulations in the design of gating system for the shape-complex casting. At the same time, the practical part verified the accuracy of the simulation by test castings on which the X- ray inspection was performed. The results showed that the occurrence of internal defects predicted by simulation corresponded to the locations in the test casts. Next part of the thesis describes improvement of the use of liquid metal (so called “yield”) by numerical simulations. Two specific castings were chosen to perform simulation of current and newly designed variant of the gating system.
