CHALLENGE NAMED COUNTRYSIDE
Klumparová, Petra ; Ponešová, Barbora (referee) ; Havliš, Karel (advisor)
The diploma thesis deals with the topic of contemporary countryside. The result of the thesis - illustrative Manual originated from searching for the basic principles in the area of land-use planning. It focuses especially on urban issues and tries to answer some of them in a comprehensible form. Manual consists mostly of schematics, sketches, visualizations, etc. The issue of new construction and the so-called satellites become one of the key issues. The Manual offers an alternative for this land-grabbing style and it motivates to create a better environment. The basic principles are applied to a specific municipality. Consultation with nine village mayors could be considered as the added value of the work. Mayors shared their experience in building and planning and gave feedback on some chapters. Interesting mayor's remarks are are incorporated in the Manual. The appendix to the manual – Good Practice Examples brings inspiration for creation of regional architecture. The intention is to offer this Manual to all of those who are involved in the management of smaller municipalities.
ŠAFOV – URBAN RENEWAL OF A VILLAGE IN THE BORDER REGION
Ličmanová, Eva ; Adamková, Jana (referee) ; Havliš, Karel (advisor)
Thesis deals with Šafov, small village located near Austrian border. History of the village is quite dramatic. Population is ten times smaller nowadays than during its greatest prosperity. At the village there was a jewish part destroyed during and after World War II. Nowadays there are only a few houses and jewish cemetary. Continuity was extremely aborted after World War II, when most residents had to leave their homes because of German nationality. New comming people early had to live very close to Iron Curtain. After many years Šafov can breathe freely but stigma of the past is still evident. I try to preserve dramatical history but also design new active plan. Thesis is divided to three parts: urban planning, architecture and landscape. There are some bigger interventions and also small and easily realizable ones.
Analysis of suburbanisation in the context of suburban villages
Ferenc, Kryštof ; Kyselka, Mojmír (referee) ; Šilhánková, Vladimíra (referee) ; Balabánová, Pavla (referee) ; Koutný, Jan (advisor)
Subject of thesis are suburban zones of cities in direct contact with willages. Their phisical urban structures as well as their development in time and processes witch affects these changes. Despite that a different european countries has different systems of spatial planning, they allwys have three main levels of planning process. These layers are: Strategic planning, regulation level and execution level. What differs is tunig of this system and wights of importance set on different „layers“. This tuning has a substential impact on way how are the cities and urban structures developer. This tuning of spatial planning systém has huge impact on physical structure and form of cities. Every setting of system brings differnt possibilities of solving problems. In both schort-term and long-term development processes. This thesis will therefore examine affects of different settings of spatial planning system in Czech Republic and Federal Republic of Germany (In specific terms – Free state of Bavaria, region of Upper Palatinate) and its long-term afffects on phisical structure of cities. With empahsis on ways in which historical village structures integrate in city structure and transform in cities districts. Goal of thesis is effort to analyse results of these two spatial planning systems. And mainly in suburban zones affected by development axes of bigger cities. Thesis will compare urban and suburban structures of two cities in two different countries. Analysed example for Czech republic is Brno. As Bavarian example stands Regensburg (as a city of comparable structure). One of important criteria is ability of systéms to effectively capture and use all of territorys development potential and possibiliteis and therefore – ability to create viable and susteinable land systems. In suburban spaces where City systems meets suburban and village systems is intensive use of existing structures and active work with subcenters crutial to susteinable development of cities.
REVITALIZATION AND SPATIAL CULTIVATION OF COMPLEX PARISH HOUSE IN HERALTICE
Kozubová, Markéta ; Vlček Ličková, Nina (referee) ; Havliš, Karel (advisor)
Today is the parish used only occasionally, and especially in summer, when there held a children's summer camp and during the rectory used by the municipality for several local events - Children's Day, the burning of witches and the very popular local pig butcher called. Town swine. Generally speaking, the parish is rather unexplored, which corresponds very poor technical condition of the building. Draft accepts the existing use of the parish and further expanded. Potential parish is large and it is necessary to use it. New feature parsonage combines several options to use, so that the parish could adapt current demand and that was sustainable. There is a use for the local and the general public that there will be a meeting. It can not easily determine which usage is dominant because they complement each other. Fara will serve as educational, environmental, cultural, sports and leisure center. Will focus on school trips, camps, but also for families with children, young, single or elderly. For everyone here finds the program. The training is aimed at growing their own vegetables and fruit and its subsequent processing in the kitchen. Subsequently, these can be grown raw materials directly used for teaching practice in the kitchen, where there will be lessons focused primarily on healthy and balanced cuisine. Lecture Hall may fold to lecture on the organic way of life, among other rectory also offers art workshops. For residents Heraltice has itself parish also use, especially for the annual traditional revelries are created special spaces. They can also use the multi-purpose hall for cultural and social events or sports. Local resident, then they can use a training kitchen to pass on their culinary skills of younger vintages, or simply use the kitchen for your own culinary ring. There are two buildings (barn and the parish) of the same archetype - rectangular in plan, low-floor and high hipped roof. One object is at the beginning and the other at the end of the plot. As a volume counter these proportions suggest the mass of the two objects with the same volume and proportions. The proposal several times, the principle of inserting new material into existing environments so as to minimize interfering with the existing structures. Inside the parish because of this principle remain visible beautiful areas with arches and paintings. Most of this principle is used in the inserted accommodation of cells into the interior of the existing barns. In the barn is maintained only a roof portion and supporting walled columns, between which is inserted prefabricated cell. Another compositional principle is the completion of an economic object which shape and mass builds on the existing adjacent building at the property plot.
Transformation of suburban villages
Ferenc, Jonáš ; Kyselka, Mojmír (referee) ; Šilhánková, Vladimíra (referee) ; Balabánová, Pavla (referee) ; Koutný, Jan (advisor)
The thesis discusses suburban villages (and, indirectly, also villages that are even further away from urban areas), their current character, and their changes over the course of history. Most Bohemian, Moravian and Silesian municipalities struggle with persistent issues, such as the decline of their primarily agrarian function (and the unattractiveness of this lifestyle for the younger generations), changes in demographic composition (the exodus of natives to cities, and their replacement by “weekenders“), the lower purchase power of rural areas (due to lower wages in agriculture and the lack of other job opportunities), insufficient traffic infrastructure, unclear property relations, the loss of their own identity due to the closeness of a core city, and uncontrolled suburbanisation which transforms both villages and their environment. The end effects of these issues are depopulation of rural areas, ageing of current inhabitants and unfavourable prospects for the future. On the other hand, the situation in neighbouring Bavaria seems to be the exact opposite. Bavaria hasn't experienced collectivisation, and a communist dictatorship hasn't cut the ties of local inhabitants towards their lands and properties which have been in their families for centuries. Many issues encountered in the Czech Republic are therefore unknown here, and villages that happen to be near urban areas tend to grow in a natural way while retaining their original rural and local identities. The superior infrastructure network enables better mobility of the populace, which allows the people to commute longer distances. However, they can still spend their time in their actual place of residence, and they often proudly consider themselves a part of the local social life and of the local community – not of the core city. Therefore the goal of the thesis is to compare Czech and Bavarian villages in terms of sustainable development, using specific examples, to analyse which elements are better in which system, and to compare whether it is possible to apply the principles of sustainability which are used in Bavaria to the sustainable development of Czech countryside.
Importance and development of village settlements in the Czech Republic
Ondrůšková, Tereza ; Obrtlík,, Jan (referee) ; Májek, Jan (advisor)
The diploma thesis deals with village settlements in the Czech Republic. First, the term village and other related terms are defined. The village is perceived from the point of view of legislation and spatial planning. The introductory part also includes a description of the historical development and structure of the villages and mentions folk architecture. The main part of the work is focused on the current state of Czech villages. There is a general analysis covering areas such as public space, public amenities, green, transport, monuments, or new development. The analysis was applied to villages located in the administrative district of the municipality with extended powers of Kroměříž and to the municipality of Rataje. Hevlín – place in the landscape
Javůrková, Terezie ; Veselá, Markéta (referee) ; Foretník, Jan (advisor)
The diploma thesis deals with the urban structures of Hevlín, solves mainly the area of the current centre and the specific design of housing for the elderly and the medical house. After the bombardment of Hevlín at the end of World War II, an empty space was created in the urban structure, which became a square. However, its scale does not correspond to the urbanism of Hevlín, nor to the scale of human. A large space belongs to transport, parking and greenery, not to people. The aim of the work is to create a conceptual design of public spaces in the current centre of Hevlín. The aim of more detaild design of housing for the elderly and the medical house try tu interpret the attributes of a village house and at the same time reflect the current need of living.
Countryside Ever Changing - LE3N8 LEŠNÁ
Zavadil, Ondřej ; Ženčák, Přemysl (referee) ; Mléčka, Jan (advisor)
The goal of the master’s thesis is to return the landscape to the people in the sense of rediscovering wealth in our close neighborhood in connection to the relationship between people and the landscape. The work and theoretical background is used in my place of residence, which is the cadastral area of Lešná, which includes 7 municipalities (Lešná, Jasenice, Lhotka nad Bečvou, Mštěnovice, Perná, Příluky and Vysoká). The basis for the work became a personal relationship to the location and physical research in the form of walking the area in a straight line, along paths and finding connections in the landscape. By simply changing my movement, I was able to perceive my own intense experience, which I rely on in my designs. In the area, I have selected 8 places with a unique character, to which I apply the proposed buildings. Each of these unique places has a name in history, but few people know it today. Through specific architectural designs, I return names to these places and bring them back to life through the people who begin to discover these places.
