Nation branding rozvojových zemí

This Master's thesis focuses on nation branding in developing countries. Nation branding is an emerging discipline that aims to build and improve a nation's image through the application of marketing techniques. The aim of the thesis is to contextualize the nation branding of developing countries within the broader framework of the theory and practice of nation branding and development studies. The thesis is structured into three chapters. The first chapter offers an introduction into the theory and practice of nation branding and the critique attached to it. The second chapter then looks at how nation branding fits into the wider context of development studies, and the scale of its relevance for developing countries with a special focus on its application for export, FDI and tourism promotion and its significance in development co-operation. The last chapter is dedicated to case studies of application of nation branding in two developing countries: Uruguay and Thailand. The conclusion sums up the results.
Presidentialism under conditions of multipartism. Analysis of sources of system stability in Latin American countries

According to a lot of experts presidential systems under conditions of multipartism are leading to instability, because there is peril of executive-legislative deadlocks. This thesis is focusing on three stable countries under these conditions (Brazil, Chile, and Uruguay). The main goal of this thesis is to find out the sources of system stability of these three countries. The thesis analyzes them on the basis of four criteria (number of parties, ideological distance, party system institutionalization and simultaneous presidential and parliamentary elections together with electoral system). This thesis analyzes election results of these countries since their transition to democracy. The thesis demonstrated, that party system format is not crucial for stability. More important is his stability together with the same actors and unchangeable ties between them.
The Comparison of consumer protection - EU and Uruguay

At the beginning of my work, there are explained and determined the most important conceptions and general principles concerning the consumer protection. In my work I also deal with legal and nonlegal consumer protection. Gradually I describe legal documents valid in the EU member states and in Uruguay. Consequently I compare those documents and evaluate their positive and negative sides. At the final part of my work I turn to consumer's organizations which operate in EU member states and in Uruguay.
Specifics of business and business environment in Uruguay in comparison with Chile

In the theoretical part of this thesis is characterized business environment in Uruguay and Chile. The characteristic was created on the basis of PEST analysis. This part also includes comparison of business environment in already mentioned countries according to the results taken from the SWOT analysis. This thesis includes practical part that is composed of experience not only of Czech companies with doing business in Uruguay and Chile.
The participation of women in high politics in selected countries of Latin America: current trends

The main theme of this bachelor thesis is political emancipation of women in Latin America. The first part presents the issue of women in politics, arguments in favor of and against more engagement of women. Generally analyzes two important factors that influence women's representation in parliament: the electoral system with its particular components and the gender quotas. The second part analyzes, based on the acquired knowledge, the contemporary situation in Latin America, specifically in three countries: Argentina, Chile and Uruguay. The ambition of this thesis is to identify contemporary trends that occur in these countries.
