Roman imports in South Asia

- Jiri Holecek - Roman imports in South Asia Diploma thesis sums up the development of the maritime trade between the Mediterranean, especially Rome, and South Asia, especially India, in the time period between the first century BC and the fourth century CE. Emphasis is put mostly on the archeological proof of the trade in the both directions, such as coins or traded goods, and their relevance and conclusiveness. Furthermore, the works of ancient historians are used to obtain more precise context in the terms of geography and economy. Thesis will compare the development of the maritime trade and the trade using the overland routes, especially so-called Silk Road. In conclussion, the thesis summarizes relevant proofs, and with their help defines the extent of the influence of the Mediterranean in South Asia and compare it with the influence of the overland routes, and finally describes the reasons of this economical development.
Obchodní a investiční vztahy mezi Českou republikou a Vietnamem

The objective of the thesis is to provide the reader with a deeper understanding of trade and investment relations between the Czech Republic and Vietnam. Historical context, development of both countries' economies and their position in international trade is discussed in the introductory chapter. The second chapter focuses on trade exchange between both countries, customs procedures, and important mutual agreements. The last chapter analyses investment relations between the two countries. This chapter is concluded with author's suggestions on investment opportunities for potential investors in Vietnam.

The diploma thesis analyzes the business partnership between Hong Kong and European Union, with a particular focus on the importance of business activities between the Czech Republic and Hong Kong through statistical analysis of exports, imports and foreign direct investments. The thesis includes a questionnaire survey of Czech entrepreneurs trading with Hong Kong to assess the advantages and disadvantages of Hong Kong as a trading partner of European Union and the Czech Republic, the role of Hong Kong and European institutions and organizations supporting mutual development of business activities and highlight the opportunities for development of mutual not only trade relations to the future.
Development of trade relations between Slovakia and France

The bachelor thesis deals with the development of trade relations between Slovakia and France. In the first chapter is defined contractual relationship between countries and there is also detailed characterization of trade cooperation and foreign trade relations between Slovakia and France. The next chapter describes the investment relations between countries. In terms of this chapter, the thesis also deals with characterization of the development of French investments in Slovakia and there is also analysis of factors affecting French investors to invest in Slovakia. The conclusion of thesis deal with a prediction of possible development in trade relations between countries.

Analysis in detail focuses on trade in the years 2011 - 2013. The aim of this thesis is to highlight the importance of bilateral cooperation.
The Economic Importance of Splitting the European Monetary Union

From recent research on optimum currency areas it is clear that the European Monetary Union does not represent an optimum currency area. Since 2008 the countries of southern part of the eurozone have found themselves in a financial, economic and debt crisis. Therefore a question about the economic importance of splitting the European Monetary Union arises. The aim of this thesis is to give answer to the question of how to divide the eurozone so that the newly formed monetary unions could be considered optimum currency unions, alternatively, so that the newly formed monetary unions are more optimal than currently the eurozone is. Using the method of analysis and synthesis we have reached a decision to divide the eurozone into two parts. One part comprising the southern countries -- Portugal, Spain, Italy, Greece, Malta and Cyprus and the other part comprising the rest of the eurozone.
Trade relations between Israel and the Czech Republic

This thesis deals with the economic relations between the Czech Republic and Israel. Attention is paid to the description of the development of these relations and especially their current form, which is today largely defined by the legislation of the European Union, whose rules are binding for the Czech Republic. Another part deals with the geographical orientation of Israel on foreign markets and commodity structure of trade and aims to describe its foreign business ties. The economic situation of Israel is described using basic macroeconomic indicators. Finally are mentioned the international programs in which both countries cooperate and range of activity of institutions to promote mutual relations, which have the main importance for their deepening.
Trade relations between Canada and European Union

The first one describes Canada in the political and economical context and concentrates on Canadian trade. The second part analyses contemporary trade relations between Canada and European Union. The last and the most crucial part is focused on Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement between Canada and European Union that was concluded in 2014. It scrutinizes its benefits from European and Canadian perspective.
