Parametrizable Music Instrument for Mobile Platforms
Řezáč, Martin ; Mlích, Jozef (referee) ; Černocký, Jan (advisor)
The goal of this thesis is to create an application, which will be primarily used as three-axis parametrizable musical instrument, respectively a modifi ed MIDI controller, suitable for Android devices. Firstly, several products, which are available on the market, are reviewed and the reader is introduced to the problematics of audio synthesis, available technologies and typical Android device potential. The next chapter is dedicated to application design. Few designs are mentioned with focus on the chosen design concept. A part of this chapter is also a speci cation of the original concept, its implementation and advantages/disadvantages. The next part is dedicated to implementation and optiomalization of some of the critical points. Also the tests are evaluated including a survey about application usability. At the end, the whole work is concluded and the further development is outlined.
Design and implementation of an automatic guitar tuner
Zatloukal, Tomáš ; Formánek, Martin (referee) ; Appel, Martin (advisor)
Goals of this thesis are design and realization of automatic guitar tuner. First, a research was carried on of availalbe tuners and sensors on the market, which is followed up by design of the hardware and software. The device processes sound emitted by string and turns guitar’s machine head via electromotor, achieving tunning. The design of the tuner is aimed to be held in one hand. Processing of entry data and control of the motor is done by development board with ESP32.
Intonation of cleft and pseudo-cleft sentences in the speech of advanced Czech learners of English
Hynková, Tereza ; Červinková Poesová, Kristýna (advisor) ; Malá, Markéta (referee)
The bachelor thesis examines the intonation of English cleft and pseudo-cleft sentences in the speech of advanced Czech ESL students. The aim of the thesis is to describe the tone choice in speech realisations of cleft and pseudo-cleft constructions produced by Czech ESL students. The first part scrutinizes literature and sets a theoretical framework for the small-scale research conducted in the second part of the thesis. The theoretical part describes the syntax of cleft and pseudo-cleft constructions, it focuses on the functional sentence perspective and provides basic information about intonation. In the second part, audio recordings are analysed in order to examine the Czech speakers' usage of tones when reading a meaningful conversation containing the target structures. It concludes that the falling tone is prevalent in the realisations of cleft sentences, whereas the productions of pseudo-clefts are more diverse. Moreover, the respondents are likely to realise three or more out of five cleft sentences using the same realisation type. They are likely to realize three or fewer out of five pseudo-cleft sentences using the same realisation type. The thesis sheds light on a marginal topic that is not popular among researchers. It compiles information on the intonation of clefts and pseudo-clefts...
Radical Experience and Thinking of Poetic Inspiration. The Body (without Organs) in Maurice Blanchot's Space of Literature.
Poch, Martin ; Ševčík, Miloš (advisor) ; Jarošová, Helena (referee)
Radical Thinking and Experience of Poetic Inspiration → Abstract Blanchot's radical thinking of writer's experience poses, but do not answer a question of its physical dimension. According to Blanchot, it seems as if the writer's experience was completely unbodied, so that it excludes the possibility of writing and realization of essential speech in the world. Our interpretation of Blanchot's key concepts proceeds with an attempt to solve this problem and present its main consequences. In the last section we operate some of the terms of Deleuze and Guattari - namely becoming, the body without organs - in order to conceive writer's experience as inherently differentiated process in which the body is absent, because - deprived of its organs - it becomes an imperceptible part of assemblage which enters the space of literature.
Analysis of pitch perception depending on the spectrum
Slávik, Martin ; Indrák, Michal (referee) ; Jirásek, Ondřej (advisor)
This thesis is dealing with the research of the influence of individual harmonic components on the perception of sound height. As a part of the work has been made an internet questionnaire on a web address www.analyzavyšek.9e.cz, where individual respondents completed listening test compound of 46 samples. This experiment is based on semantic differential method. Individual samples are compound of sine wave – tone and examined sample, which respondents evaluates on three bipolar scales. The samples were either modelled by additive synthesis or modified sampled sounds of instruments. Individual samples were divided to four major groups and other minor groups for clarity. The purpose was to find which parts, combinations and harmonic components of sound and tone can affect perception of tone height.

Karipova, Alfiia ; Hogenová, Anna (advisor) ; Blažková, Miloslava (referee)
This research is dedicated to the connection between phenomenology of music and the temporal conception of Edmund Husserl who influenced new awareness of time in general and musical time in particular. The purpose of the research is foremost to expand horizons and options of musical-philosophical analysis through discovering the alternative understanding of musical perception in author's works especially in his «Vorlesungen zur Phänomenologie des inneren Zeitbewusstseins». The research consists of five main parts arranged by deductive principle: from the general key points of the subject - phenomenology of music (chapter 1), the role of musical art in studies and heritage of E. Husserl (chapter 2) and principles of phenomenological method as a base of temporality conception (chapter 3) the emphasis gradually shifts towards the research of Husserl's temporality conception which is directly connected to musical art which makes our subject notably actual. Besides that the research raises such questions as the role of the concept of time in music, comparison of Husserl's philosophy and A. Webern's music, importance of sense in composition and others. The fundamental and rare scientific studies of philosophy, musicology, sociology of music and other contiguous subjects in Czech and English languages were...
