Imaginative apologetics
FALDYNOVÁ, Milana
The focus of this thesis lies in the cooperation of imagination and apologetics, which - if succesful - can be a step towards meaningful sharing of the gospel. Imagination as a way of perception of meaning can also be a useful tool in today's world, which seems to lose interest in meaning whatsoever. We seem to find a representative case of imaginative apologetics in the works of C. S. Lewis, J. R. R. Tolkien and Dorothy L. Sayers. Using imaginative way, these authors deal with many apologetical issues in their stories. The need for a good quality work of imaginative apologetics seems even more valid, when we learn that many atheistic and agnostic authors use imaginative ways to defend ideology of their own; this thesis deals namely with Philip Pullman, whose work could be marked as work of agnostic imaginative apologetics.

The Prose Marie by Alexandr Kliment and Its Film Adaptation by Václav Vorlíček
HLAVÁČKOVÁ, Eliška
This bachelor thesis deals with analyzing the novella Marie from 1960, which was written by the Czech prosaic Alexandr Kliment, and comparing the book to the identically named film adaptation, which was directed by Václav Vorlíček in 1964. The main focus is put on describing both narratives - mainly in the scope of the story, and characters; giving attention to the aspect of the narrator, events, and settings as well. Through the means of the analysis of each of the categories and their subsequent comparison between both narratives, this thesis aims to discover, whether the story was modified in order to better serve the audiovisual media, and if it was, then how each media influenced the interpretation of the story itself.
Václav Smyčka, Psychoanalysis before psychoanalysis? Late Enlightenment interest in the unconscious and trauma
Smyčka, Václav
This study deals with the understanding of trauma, neurosis and the unconscious in psychological narratives and case studies during the late Enlightenment in the Czech lands, focusing on the texts of the philosopher, writer and naturalist Gottfried Immanuel Wenzel and the writer Christian Heinrich Spiess. It shows that the interest of these authors in these phenomena did not so much stem from emerging Romanticism as from the empirical Enlightenment teaching on the soul, and often from surprisingly archaic theories such as the Aristotelian concept of the soul and memory and the mechanical notion of the functioning of nerve fibres, based on the principle of vibration. In particular, Wenzel combined his reflections on neuroses with his research into dreams, displaced thoughts and the principles behind dream imagery, thus anticipating some of the theses of psychoanalysis.

The aim of the presented bachelor's thesis is to describe the story as an important phenomenon and a means to develop reading preliteracy in preschool children, with a focus on the age group of five to six year olds. The theoretical part is based on the study of the literature and focuses on the definition of reading preliteracy, its importance and its development in kindergarten with regard to the developmental specifics of children aged 5-6 years, which it details. It also presents the functions of literature, characterises literature for children and the story, and introduces genres suitable for this age group (with a more detailed focus on the fairy tale). It looks at how reading preliteracy is anchored in the Framework Preschool Education Programme and how the development of reading preliteracy is conceptualised in contemporary preschool education. It focuses on appropriate methods and forms of story work and the role of stories and books in the educational process, and finally it talks about children's perception of stories and the ability to tell a story. The practical part is based on action research in a specific kindergarten and aims first to determine the current level of children in some expected outcomes related to reading preliteracy in relation to the topic of the thesis, then to...
Modernity and holocaust
