In Space
Blatná, Hana ; Vítková, Lenka (referee) ; Klímová, Barbora (advisor)
The bachelor's thesis is a series of fourteen drawings created exclusively using graphite. The drawings reflect a subjective view of the universe, inspired by archaic interpretations of planets and universe solids, conspiracy theories, black and white images of textures, surfaces, rocks and meteorites captured by modern technology. The drawings are an attempt to express hidden inner motives, personal mythology, the energy of the landscape, the relationship to nature. The paper is a parallel to the sky, a projection surface on which dreamy cosmic landscapes penetrate in imprints, geometric shapes and using perspective.
The integration of shadow projections in the teaching of C.G. Jung and its possible benefits for theological ethics of interpersonal relationships
Otáhal, Tomáš ; Červenková, Denisa (advisor) ; Bouma, David (referee)
In the first part, this thesis is examining the psychology of C. G. Jung, especially those parts, which are somehow connected to interpersonal relationships. That means foremostly the psychological projections and mechanisms, which are causing those projections. By those mechanisms, I mean the dynamics of consciousness - unconsciousness, the shadow and the cognitive functions. Besides those concepts and mechanisms, the thesis aims to explore the way which Jung ascribes to deal with those shadow projections - in favor of improving the interpersonal relationships. This deed lays mainly in the so-called individuation, with main focus on the shadow integration. The aim of the second part of this thesis is to reflect upon the C. G. Jung's psychology from the theological ethics point of view. The thesis is defining the criteria of goodness of the interpersonal relationship from the theological ethics standpoint. Then further uses those criteria to clarify the conditions under which could be maintained the dialogue and cooperation between theology and psychology and thus, under which conditions is theologically acceptable to utilize C. G. Jung's findings.
Power of the moment
KONEČNÁ, Dominika
The bachelor thesis is divided into two parts. The theoretical part deals with Czech and world photography of the 1st half of the 20th century. Following chapters are dedicated to the two important personalities of photography and their various approaches: black and white phography capturing the "decisive moment" of Henri Cartier-Bresson and as a counterpoint František Drtikol´s work in a studio. The practical part consists of a cycle of digital photographs on the topic "The Power of a Moment".
Evolution of sting and associated venom gland in Hymenoptera (Aculeata)
Matějková, Zuzana ; Straka, Jakub (advisor) ; Šobotník, Jan (referee)
Theme: Evolution of the sting and associated glands in Hymenoptera (Aculeata) Author: Zuzana Matějková Supervisor: Mgr. Jakub Straka, Ph.D. Abstract A stinger is a synapomorphy of Aculeata group. The branch of Aculeata has cleaved from the Parasitica group - they both belong to the order Apocrita. The stinger of Aculeata has evolved from a former ovipositor - though the function of laying eggs has been lost. Besides venom gland several other glands including Dufour's gland vent into a stinger. The original (parasitic-predator strategy- binding) function of the gland excretes is a paralysis of the prey. In social Aculeata it gains a defensive function - associated with a possible act of autotomy of the stinger. The stinger and associated glands are also a source of pheromones and small peptides with an antimicrobial function. These peptides act together with other venom components and they help to improve its effectiveness.

Title: Geometry of shadows Author: Yulianna Tolkunova Department: Department of Mathematics Education Supervisor: RNDr. Petra Surynková, Ph.D. Abstract: The present thesis deals with geometric lighting and methods of its construction. In particular, it is directed at parallel lighting. The work includes a theoretical part, in which you can learn about the properties and basic concepts related to geometric lighting. Afterwards, there is a practical part, which contains a set of examples with their solutions and then unsolved examples for independent practice. The project is filled up with a number of pictures to enhance the reader's imagination about the principles and methods of lighting. In my work I emphasized intelligibility and usability of the methods listed there. In general, thesis Geometry of shadows is devoted to everybody who wants to learn more about the geometry of shadows. The work could be a useful study material for students and teachers of descriptive geometry.
Land art as a means to create the illusion of an ideal space
Hladová, Anežka ; Hnízdil, Aleš (advisor) ; Kurt, Kurt (referee)
This diploma thesis is based on a project emphasizing the land art principle that creates an illusion and intervenes thus into space on grounds of a historical event or an object missing in a certain area. The practical part consists of seven land art schemes with an introduction of the concept itself and the last key concept is in addition realized on Vitkov Hill. The overall design of Vitkov area suggests park changes and ground shaping of the park itself that is also supplemented by land art enhancing historical aspects of the place. The concept focuses mainly on an oversized asphalt lane that is nowadays, with its flat shape, considered as the top of such prominent hill, the real peak is therefore missing. Having said that, the project attempts to restore its natural and imperfect appearance of the complex. Furthermore, the scorched pathway becomes due to summer season an unfriendly place to stay. As a result, the project provides a solution in form of a return to a slightly narrowed sunken lane placed under the ground level and paved with stones. Alongside the main holloway there are sand pathways for walkers and a running track so far spontaneously created in the lawn by passing runners. Asphalt lane therefore stays only one, designated especially for inline skaters. Around the aforementioned routes there are suggested both elevated and deepened spots that offer even more magnificent view. All proposed terrain changes are supposed to evoke a false impression that Vitkov hill has never been flattened, as it in present day, and one is a mere visitor passing through paths that allow visitors to embrace sense of reaching the top. Despite the fact that Vitkov hill monument is a public area having its indisputable significance, it seems to be often forgotten. Apart from the recreational purposes of the park, this green hill is also a prominent feature in Prague´s city views and, last but not least, a memorial of one of the most important battles related to the Czech history. This land art project has been involved into International Landscape Festival 2018 held in Prague and foreshadows thus the event from early stages. The project then becomes a real work of art placed in public area with an intention to accentuate the suffering in the historical battle as a painful event that should be remembered by the nation. Simultaneously, it points out at a missing tree that symbolizes ephemerality of values. Land art thus emphasizes an abstract image of growing Lilacs and Acacia trees standing against each other in the battlefield as the soldiers in Vitkov or from the present day point of view, Karlín and Žižkov. Defeated Acacia trees epitomize Crusaders fleeting away from victorious Hussites (Lilacs) down the Karlín Hill and the only thing that remains is only one fallen soldier (Accia tree) and a lot of pikes sunken in the ground. Other land art projects have much in common. For instance, they are located in cities and their surroundings known well by the author. Apart from visible aspects, they lay emphasis especially on inner connectedness expressed through an illusion. A passerby should be able to notice that there is an imperfection, in particular area, he has not spotted before. He therefore intentionally finds himself in a position where he should open his fantasy because the place is speaking to him through shades and silhouettes of an absent reality. This thesis also demonstrates how popular initiative can change the city and bring interesting ideas as in case of High Line in New York. Lastly, land art literary research provides insight not just into land art as artistic movement but also as a feature in public area commonly discussed due to its inappropriate composition. The diploma thesis focuses mainly on Czech authors.
Perennial plantings increased self-regulation skills
Malošíková, Ester ; Matiska, Pavel (advisor) ; Ivana, Ivana (referee)
This bachelor thesis focuses on extensive perennial plantings for shade, which are situated at Dendrologic garden in Průhonice. These plantings are based on principles of autoregulation. The aim of this work is the theoretical approach to this issue and subsequently the evaluation of these plantings, based on aesthetic appeal, that consists of total effect, effect of colours and the structure of plantings. The theoretical part focuses on general definition of perennials, their history, morphology, classification and their usage. Perennials for shade and perennials for sun are characterized in more details in one chapter. The practical part evaluates specific plantings for shade. The underlays for this evaluation are data collected by one vegetation term. The outcomes of this work are represented by graphs and photodocumentation.
