Multiple sclerosis cerebrospinal - clinical tests reliability assesment
Rýdlová, Zuzana ; Řasová, Kamila (advisor) ; Joachimová, Marie (referee)
The purpose of this thesis is to verify inter-rater reliability and internal consistency of clinical tests included in battery of tests. The battery is composed of 12 tests - Low-Contrast Letter Acuity, Nine Hole Peg Test, Timed 25 - Foot Walk, Paced Auditory Serial Addition, Motoricity Index, Modified Ashworth Scale, Berg Balance Scale and tests of postural reactions, knee hyperextension, tremor, dysdiadochokinesia and ataxia. We evaluated inter-rater reliability by measuring the equality between two sets of results obtained by two observers investigating independently the same set of nine patients. To this aim we used two statistical methods: Intraclass corelation coefficient and Bland-Atman's graphs. Internal consistency was examined by applying Cohen's alpha coefficient. Satisfactory inter-rater reliability was found at 10 tests, only Modified Ashworth Scale and ataxia assesment indicate lower value. Internal consistency is sufficient at 10 tests, only tremor assesment and Motoricity Index didn't fulfill our criteria. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)
Comparison of the effects of several physiotherapeutic methods in patients with multiple sclerosis
Emmerová, Ivana ; Řasová, Kamila (advisor) ; Angelová, Gabriela (referee)
The aim: The aim of this work is to compare the effects of different physiotherapy techniques (Motor programs activating therapy, Manual physiotherapy correction, Vojta's reflex locomotion) in patients with multiple sclerosis. Another aim is to compare the effect of continuing therapy after completion of the therapeutic program. The last aim of the study is to compare the perception of the effect of a physical therapist and the patient himself. The Method: 34 ambulant patients with multiple sclerosis were randomly divided into three groups (Motor programs activating therapy, Manual physiotherapy correction, Vojta's reflex locomotion) and underwent during two months 20 therapies. They passed the therapy 2-3 times per week, length of one therapy was 60 minutes. Clinical examination and questionnaire survey was conducted before the start of therapy, immediately after the end of the therapy program, and one month after the end of the therapy program. Results: All groups showed improvement observed parameters, but there were not indicate the significant differences between groups. Some effect of therapeutic programs persists even after cessation of therapy. Perception of the effect by physiotherapist and patient is different. In the group MPAT evaluate patient outcomes better than a therapist. Groups...
Internal consistency of assessment set of clinical features of patients with multiple sclerosis and its correlation with the degree of neurological impairment
Jurčáková, Andrea ; Řasová, Kamila (advisor) ; Neuwirthová, Svatava (referee)
Title: Internal consistency of assessment set of clinical features of patients with multiple sclerosis and its correlation with the degree of neurological impairment. Objectives: The aim of this work is to verify the internal consistency of Assessment set of clinical features in patients with multiple sclerosis and its correlation with the degree of neurological disability that would comprehensively and objectively judged effect of physiotherapy in patients with MS. Method: Clinical Examination set of functions includes well-known, standard and validated assessments that evaluate the function associated with the central movement disorders focusing on the clinical manifestations of RS (Low-Contrast Letter Acuity Test contrasting vision, Motricity Index assesses muscle strength, spasticity Modified Ashworth Scale, Berg balance Scale equilibrium, Nine Hole Peg Test investigate fine motor skills, Timed 25 - Foot Walk assess walking speed over a distance of 7.5 m, Paced Auditory Serial Addition Test investigates cognitive function, and auditory information processing speed, simple computational skills and ability to concentrate after the duration of the test. Belong to this set as evaluation of righting, equilibrium and protective reactions, examination dysdiadochokinesia, ataxia, and test evaluation...
Utilisaation of Physiotherapeutical Procedures and Methods in Patients with the Multiple Sclerosis
Barešová, Michaela ; Puršová, Martina (advisor) ; Palacký, Vít (referee)
The title of thesis: Utilisaation of physiotherapeutical procedures and methods in patients with the multiple sclerosis. Abstract of thesis: This work is divided into theoretical and practical part. The content of the firt part is a study of theoretical works related to multiple sclerosis. The main chapters are devoted to history of multiple sclerosis, the definition of why and how the disease arises, the types of disease, clinical presentation, diagnosis, therapy, desce incidence and complications that can occur to people with this disease. Finally, I looked at various physiotherapeutic procedurs and methods related to this disease. In the practical part of the thesis , a qualitatice research metod - cause study - was used. The research was conduted at the Center for demyelination disorders (MS center) at the Charles Square. The test set consisted of two probands with a diagnosis od cerebro-spinal multiple sclerosis, specifically of the relapsing - remitting form of disease. These diagnoses were determined by the attending physician of the probands. During the physiotherapy I used elements of the Bobath koncept. The practical part also inculdes twi case reports and subjective evaluation of physical therapy that were recorded by the patients after physiotherapy. The results are processed in the...
The hyperactive urinary bladder in female patients with multiple sclerosis as seen by a physiotherapist
Havlíčková, Michaela ; Meluzínová, Eva (advisor) ; Rejchrt, Michal (referee)
The aim of the thesis " A Physiotherapist's View of Overactive Bladder function in Multiple Sclerosis Patients" and the influence of physiotherapy on the symptoms of the overactive bladder. This thesis deals with exert influence on symptoms of an overactive bladder by physiotherapy. Therapy is based on the fact that guarding reflexes that maintains continence at the level of spine and subcortical (micturition centre in pons) are activated by the contraction of the pelvic floor muscles. Physiotherapy contains pelvic floor muscle training with biofeedback, behavioral training and training of stabilizing function of pelvic floor muscles. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)
Physiotherapy impact on the stability of standing and selected clinical parameters in patients with multiple sclerosis
Honsová, Kamila ; Hoskovcová, Martina (advisor) ; Bitnar, Petr (referee)
Diploma thesis "Impact of physiotherapy on stability in stance and selected clinical parameters in Multiple Sclerosis patients" is aimed to study problems of disturbed postural stability in connection with this disorder. Research was made to evaluate the impact of two-month's physiotherapy, based on sensomotor learning, on the balance in stance, gait parameters and related functions. The sample of 6 patients with disability EDSS = 5, age 43 and more than five years course of MS on average, were undergoing a battery of clinical and paraclinical tests. Questionaire method was used for assessing quality of life parameters. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)
