The scope of the investigation is focused on the Broumov region, where I look for possible causes, hurdles and reasons for Roma unemployment. The empirical part deals with gathering data from three different informants. The goal of this research is a complex overview of the actual situation from the view of employers, Roma themselves, and the state, represented by the Job Centre (Work Offive). To this end I used the involved observation method, and in-depth interviews. The target of the diploma was to find out what the main hurdles are in the scope of the participation of Broumov Roma in the work market, and what are the main obstacles to the participation of Roma in the work market. The result of the completed research is that among the main obstacles are insufficient education, low qualifications, frequent property re-possession and the unwillingness of employers to employ Roma. The source of this unwillingness is distrust of Roma due to bad experience with this minority.

Fiscal Gains from Extra Investment into Roma Education in the Czech Republic
Kubíková, Marie ; Janský, Petr (advisor) ; Břízová, Pavla (referee)
The thesis aims at quantifying the potential fiscal gains of an extra investment into Roma education. From the budgetary point of view, it would pay off to invest extra money into Roma children, if it increased future net contributions to the budget. The extra investment into one child could take values up to the average discounted value of future net benefits per person. The net benefits represent the increased net contributions due to a higher level of education. The contribution of the thesis is the estimation of different net contributions of Roma with various educational levels to the national budget in order to encourage the investment into Roma children. Secondly, we estimated the yearly loss of the national budget due to lower education among the Roma. And thirdly, we conducted a survey among the clients of the endowment fund Verda to find the relationship between their education, employment status and other variables.

The aim of this study is to explore whether social workers use theoretical concepts while working with the Roma minority. The research used a qualitative research method. Data collection was performed using of intentional (purposeful) selection. Qualitative data were obtained by interview with using the instructions. The research group was selected from a group of social workers assigned by the target group with which they work. This group consists of six social workers who work primarily with the Roma minority in southern Bohemia. To achieve this objective we established research question: Do the social worker use theoretical concepts while working with the Roma minority? If so, what and how, if not, what they use instead? Data were analyzed using cluster method. This method is used to group certain statements in groups, according to the resolution of certain issues. The results implies that only half of the communication partners uses a theoretical approaches. From the discussions it is clear that only two of them are using them consciously. They most frequently use tasks oriented approach and client-oriented approach. One communication partner even mentioned anti-discriminating approach. Most social workers agreed that they use their own judgment in their work. Self judgment is meant empathy, intuitiveness and more. Furthermore, communication partners mentioned findings, which can be used. It is very important to have mutual trust when working with the Roma minority. Academic teaching Romani would also be good to facilitate communication between the social worker and the target group. It would also be appropriate to concentrate knowledge about social work with the Roma minority into one comprehensive publication. This thesis can serve as a basis for further elaboration of this theme.
