Personal Data Protection in the Company

This thesis is focused on the description of the protection of personal data in the company. It includes explanation of terms connected with protection of personal data and subsequent suggestion of methodology of protection of data in company. The first part of the thesis specifies the theoretical basis and describes the basic terms. Next chapter deals with the current state of the protection of personal data and the final part contains suggested solution for the drawbacks found in the analysis of current state.
Personal Data and Anonymisation

The Bachelor thesis focuses mainly on the issue of personal data and their anonymisation. The theoretical part specifies valid Czech and European legislative documents and also introduces the issue of anonymisation. It presents also various anonymisation methods (Pseudonymisation, Anonymisation) which can be used to create anonymized data. The practical part of this thesis is a program which is able to fulfill the requirements based on European law on a specific dataset. Outgoing „personal" data from the attached program are no longer taken as personal data.

This bachelor thesis deals with the issue of open data and its legal collision with rights for privacy and protection of personal data. It’s purpose is to familiarize the reader with some essential terms regarding this topic and their place in Czech legislation. Practical part of this work is an application working with multiple data sets provided as open data. These data sets contain information about the number of Czech people under distraint and the ratio of people based on their education. These data sets are analyzed in the second chapter.
Risk Management in Personal Data Protection

The bachelor thesis focuses on the issue of the risk management in the context of personal data protection in the course of the implementation of their processing. Concerning the theoretical background, based on the explanation of relevant parts of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (General Data Protection Regulation), the own methodology for risk management in personal data protection is presented. The thesis also attempts at interpretation of some general expressions, understanding of which is indispensable for the specification of the main issue, such as a risk and the process of risk management itself. The practical output of this bachelor thesis is a web application providing the determination of the severity of the risk to the rights and freedoms of data subjects in the process of the general risk assessment for personal data processing operations.

Miženková, Martina. Protection of personal data and privacy of employees in practice in a business company. Thesis. Brno: Mendel University in Brno, 2023. The diploma thesis deals with the protection of personal data. As part of the literature search, the issue of personal data protection, basic terms, rights and obligations of the parties involved, or sanctions threatened in the event of their violation based on the General Regulation. As part of the practical part of the thesis, the protection of personal data in the selected company is evaluated in practice during individual phases of the employment relationship. On the basis of the analysis, deficiencies that are not in accordance with the current legislation are assessed. Subsequently, on the basis of the results of the analysis of personal data protection in the company, appropriate recommendations are proposed, the financial complexity is calculated at the end of the thesis.

This Diploma thesis investigates protection of privacy and personal data. In the literary research it is dedicated to embedding of the current legislation on the protection of personal data, privacy, the rights and obligations of involved parties and the consequences of their violations. The work itself deals with processes for handling personal data at the workplace in selected business company. The pro-cessing of personal data during the entire life cycle of the employment is ana-lyzed. Next section of the thesis is also devoted to the processing of personal data and the proper fullfilment of the predefined obligations. The work is also devoted to the protection of the employee's privacy and the protection of the employer's ownership rights. In the conclusion, corrective measures are proposed, based on identified deficiencies.

Brno: Mendel University in Brno, 2023 The bachelor thesis is focused on the topic of protection of personal data and privacy of employees in the practise of the business organization. The literature research includes basic terminology of this topic, law requirements in the Slovak republic, the competence of the Office for personal data protection and consequences in case of not following the law. The original part analyses processing and protection of personal data and privacy of the employees. These activities begin in the process of recruiting the employees, then during the employment relationship and after termination of employment. The own research is devoted to both physical protection and legal requirements that have been mentioned in the literature research. In case of some deficiencies in the business organizations, there will be created propositions to ensure the compliance with the legislation of the Slovak Republic.
The price of our privacy - Ethical reflection of gathering and monetization of personal data of social media users

Social media are inseparable part of our lives and one of main means of communication for individuals as well as companies. According to data of the Czech Statistical Office published at the end of 2021, overall majority of citizens above the age sixteen is using social media. Along with the increasing popularity of social media, the light is also shed on the accompanying risks. Excessive gathering of users' personal data poses one of main risks. The fact that they are provided voluntarily does not entitle companies to use them arbitrarily. As an example we can point out problematic decisions of Meta Platforms, Inc., which have been released by former employee Frances Haugen. Published materials prove that management of the company was aware of negative impacts of Facebook on its users (spread of disinformation, mental health deterioration of teenagers). However, they chose not to adopt any measures, which could cause reduction of profits. The goal of this thesis is to carry out ethical reflection of collection and usage of Facebook users' personal data. I will focus particularly on the ethical aspects of data monetization, i.e. an ethical tension between legitimate claim of the company to profit and possible misuse of the platform to influence the opinions of its users, which could have actual...
